How to use the Bomann PP 2230 CB pizza oven for the first time?

Before first use, remove all packaging. Run the appliance without the lid for about 5 minutes at maximum temperature setting (5). A slight smoke and odor may appear, this is normal. Then wash the lid and pan with a soft sponge and soapy water, rinse and dry.

What temperature settings to use for which cooking?

The appliance has 5 positions: 1 (keep warm), 2 (>100°C for frying or hamburgers), 3-4 (150-200°C for crêpes, eggs, ham), 5 (240°C for searing). The indicator light goes off when the temperature is reached and turns on again to maintain it.

How to clean the thermostat?

The thermostat should never be immersed in water or washed with liquid. Simply wipe it with a paper towel or soft dry cloth after the appliance has completely cooled down.

What safety distances should be respected?

Place the appliance on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Leave a space of at least 30 cm around the appliance from flammable objects (furniture, curtains). Never use near combustible materials.

Can I use metal utensils on the pan?

No, to avoid damaging the non-stick coating, use only wooden or Teflon utensils. Also avoid metal brushes or abrasive sponges.

How to assemble the knob on the glass lid?

Place the knob and crown on a flat surface. Place the lid upside down on top. Pass the large screw with its washer from inside the lid and screw the knob on by hand. Then attach the heat shields under the knob with the small screws.

What to do if the thermostat indicator does not light up?

Check that the thermostat is properly inserted into its socket on the appliance and that the temperature is set to a position other than 0. Make sure the mains socket works. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

Can I leave the appliance on unattended?

No, never leave the appliance running unattended. Always unplug it after use and when leaving the room.

How to remove the thermostat after use?

First turn the dial to 0 (Off) then unplug the power cord. Wait for the appliance to cool down completely before removing the thermostat. Do not pull on the cord, but grasp the thermostat by the plug.

Special safety notes for this unit

• Place the unit on a flat and heat-resistant surface. In the case of sensitive surfaces please place a heat-resistant board under the pan.

CAUTION:

Only the supplied thermostat may be used.

No other regulator should be used under any circumstances!

• Before inserting or removing the thermostat please ensure that the scale of the temperature regulator is turned to 0 (Off). Otherwise the device may fail to operate or overheat.
• When inserting the thermostat please ensure that it is inserted correctly. The regulator should be facing upwards. When removing the thermostat, do not pull the cable, but pull on the plug of the thermostat. Do not use excessive force or bend the thermostat when inserting or removing it.
• Please keep the temperature sensor and the pins of the holder clean.

WARNING: DANGER OF FIRE!

• Keep the unit at a safe distance from easily inflammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc. (30cm).
• Oil and fat preparations may burn if overheated.

WARNING: DANGER OF BURNS!

During operation the temperature of the exposed surface may be very hot.

• Please ensure that the mains lead does not come into contact with the hot sections of the device. Do not touch the hot sections of the device; please use the buttons and handles provided.
• Never pour water into hot fat.
• Please do not operate the device with an external timer or a separate remote control system.

Before Initial Use

• Remove the packaging.
• Operate the appliance without the lid for approximately 5 min on the highest setting (see "Initial Operation").

Any smoke or smells produced during this procedure are normal. Please ensure sufficient ventilation.

We recommend that you clean the lid and the pan as described under „Cleaning".

Assembly

1. Mount the knob on the glass lid:

To do this, place the knob and the ring collar on a flat surface.
- Place the lid on it upside down.
- Insert the screw with the washer from the inside through the lid and tighten the knob by hand.

1. Mount the heat shields on to the handles:

Under each of the handles you can see two drill holes.
- Hold one heat shield in each case between the pan and handle.
- Insert the screws into the drill holes and screw the heat shields into place.

Initial Operation

Place the device on a heat-resistant surface.

1. Please ensure that the temperature regulator is turned to 0 (Off) and insert it into the socket of the thermostat. The power socket is on the side of the device.

CAUTION:

If the thermostat is not inserted correctly, this may lead to abnormal heating, of which the consequence may be damage or accidents. You should therefore ensure that the thermostat is inserted correctly.

TE:

The device has reached the correct temperature when the control lamp on the thermostat goes off. During operation the control lamp goes on from time to time to show that the correct temperature is being maintained.

Using the unit

• The Party Pan should be preheated for approximately five minutes. When the control lamp goes off, the pan is ready for operation.
• The cooking time depends on the type and quantity of food that is to be cooked as well as the degree of cooking. Please base these times on your own experience.
• When turning the food that is being cooked, please use wooden or Teflon utensils so as not to damage the non-stick layer.
• When cooking is finished the food may be kept warm by turning the controls to 1.

WARNING:

The Party Pan is hot during use!
Hot steam is emitted from the lid.

After Use

• To switch the device off, first turn the temperature regulator to 0 (Off) and remove the plug from the socket.
• Do not remove the thermostat from the device until the device has cooled down, as the temperature sensor is still very hot after use.

Cleaning

WARNING:

Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down.
- Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.

CAUTION:

• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
• Under no circumstances should the device be immersed in water for cleaning.

Pan

• Please remove any food residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper towel. In the case of stubborn residues the pan should be reheated with a little water.
• Wash off the pan with a soft sponge and soapy water. Then wipe with clear water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. After drying please apply a thin film of edible oil to the surface.

Lid

Clean the lid with a soft sponge and a little washing-up liquid.

Thermostat

Please clean the thermostat with a soft paper towel or a soft try cloth.

WARNING:

• Never clean the regulator with damp items, as otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.
• Never immerse the cable loom in water!
