How to fill the water tank of the Bomann CB 751 iron?

First unplug the iron. Use a small container to pour water into the filling opening (2) up to the MAX mark. Use distilled or tap water (hardness < 2). Never use battery water, dryer water, or water with additives.

How to use the steam function?

Set the thermostat to a high temperature (cotton, linen) to produce steam. Turn the steam quantity selector (1) from the 'no steam' position to 'low steam' or 'high steam'. For more steam, press the steam burst button (7). Caution: steam is hot.

How to clean the iron with the self-cleaning function?

Fill the tank halfway. Heat the iron to maximum temperature. Unplug it then hold it horizontally over a sink. Place the steam selector on 'SELF CLEAN' and shake until the tank is empty. The selector automatically returns to ●. Heat again and iron a clean cloth to finish cleaning the soleplate.

Can I use the iron in vertical position?

Yes, the 'steam burst' function (7) can be used in vertical position to dewrinkle hanging garments. Beware of hot steam.

How to choose the right ironing temperature?

Use the thermostat (3). The marks indicate: low temperature for synthetic and silk, medium for wool, high for cotton and linen, MAX for maximum temperature. Always start with the lowest temperatures to avoid damaging fabrics.

What to do if the iron does not heat up anymore?

Check that the socket works and the cord is not damaged. Make sure the thermostat is set to a sufficient temperature. If the problem persists, contact a qualified technician. Do not attempt to repair yourself.

How to maintain the stainless steel soleplate?

General Safety Instructions

• Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

• WARNING! The ironing base becomes hot very quickly and takes a long time to cool down. Please do not touch it.
• When the iron is not in use it should be placed on its stand.
• Before filling the water tank remove the mains lead. Please do not fill the water tank higher than the MAX mark.

How to Use

• Fill the water reservoir at the refi II opening (2), using a fi lling container. Preferably use distilled water or clear tap water (maximum water hardness level 2). If water is harder, used distilled water only.
• Do not fill battery water, water from the clothes dryer and water containing additives (such as starch, perfume, softener or other chemicals) into the water reservoir. This could damage the iron due to residues forming in the steam chamber. These residues may cause impurities to the fabric when dropping out of the holes in the soleplate.

Using the Machine

NOTE: Only clothes should to be ironed with this machine.

Ironing without steam (steam regulator turned to position

1. Place the iron on its stand.
2. Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety socket, 230V / 50Hz
3. Sort out the garments according to their ironing temperatures. Start with the lower temperatures. It is set with the thermostat (3):

Synthetics, silk low temperature
- Wool medium temperature
Cotton, linen high temperature

MAX maximum temperature

1. The indicator light is on. As soon as the indicator light goes out the desired operating temperature has been reached (approx. 3 minutes). Now you can start ironing.
2. Always pull the plug out of the socket after using the iron.

Steam Ironing

For this a high temperature is needed (cotton, linen). The quantity of steam can be regulated using the steam quantity regulator (1).

Self-Cleaning (Self-Clean)

1. Half fill the water tank with water.
2. Heat the machine up to its maximum temperature. After the control lamp goes off remove the machine from the mains supply.
3. Now hold the iron horizontally over a sink. Hold the steam control in the "SELF CLEAN" position. Now rock the device backwards and forwards until the tank is empty. The steam control automatically returns to position .
4. Place the machine back on its stand and heat it up again. To clean the base now iron over a clean cotton cloth.

Cleaning and Storage

Always remove the mains lead before cleaning!
- Clean the casing with a slightly damp cloth.
- Clean the iron with a slightly humid cloth.
- Always return the steam regulator to the „●“ position after use and empty the water tank in order to prevent any leaks.
