USER MANUAL WW 2000 R EINHELL

When using the equipment, a few safety precautions must be observed to avoid injuries and damage. Please read the complete operating instructions and safety regulations with due care. Keep this manual in a safe place, so that the information is available at all times. If you give the equipment to any other person, hand over these operating instructions and safety regulations as well. We cannot accept any liability for damage or accidents which arise due to a failure to follow these instructions and the safety instructions.

NOTE! The equipment has a topple cut-out. If the equipment is tilted beyond a certain angle, it will be deactivated automatically and only restarted after it has been returned to its upright position (standby).

1. Safety regulations

Danger!

Read all safety regulations and instructions. Any errors made in following the safety regulations and instructions may result in an electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Keep all safety regulations and instructions in a safe place for future use.

  • Check that the equipment has been delivered in perfect condition. If it has suffered any damage, do not connect the equipment to the power supply.
  • Use the equipment only to heat room air in enclosed rooms.
    Not suitable for commercial purposes.
  • Do not lay the mains cable over hot parts of the equipment during operation.
  • Never open the appliance or touch live parts - danger of fatal accident!
  • Never use the equipment with wet hands.
  • Position the equipment in such a way that the power plug is accessible at all times.
    If the equipment is not used for a lengthy period of time, disconnect it from the power supply.
  • Do not use the equipment in rooms in which inflammable materials (for example solvents, etc.) or gases are used or stored.
  • Keep highly inflammable substances and gases away from the equipment.
  • Do not use in areas where there is a fire risk (for example wooden sheds).

Only use the heater with its power lead fully extended.
Not suitable for installation with permanently installed electrical cables.
- Do not insert any foreign objects into the equipment's openings - danger of electric shock and damage to the equipment.
- Keep children and people on medication or under the influence of alcohol away from the equipment.
- Maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by authorized trained personnel.
- Check the equipment, particularly the mains cable, for signs of damage every time before use. If the equipment is damaged, please contact an electrician or the customer service center responsible for your country (ISC GmbH in Germany).
Water or other liquids must never get onto or into the equipment - danger of fatal accident!
- Do not position the equipment directly above or below a socket.
- Never cover the heater as this can lead to a build-up of heat and result in damage to the equipment or in fire (Fig. 5).
- Do not use the equipment for animal husbandry or livestock breeding.
If the equipment is used for a lengthy time, the housing can become very hot. Position the equipment in such a way as to prevent accidental touching.
- Never place the equipment on deep pile carpets.
- Ensure that a minimum distance of 100cm to the equipment is maintained.
- Do not use the heater in the immediate vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming pool.
The heater must be installed such that it is impossible for the switches and controls to be touched by a person in the bathtub or shower.
- When installing the equipment in a bathroom, be sure to observe the safety clearances stipulated in your country. It must be impossible for the control elements to be touched by a person in a shower, in a vessel filled with liquid or in a bathtub. In Germany the equipment is not allowed to be installed inside protection zone 0, 1 or 2 in order to comply with VDE 0100 Part 701 (Fig. 6). Please refer to the regulations in your country.
- Connect the device to an earthed socket outlet outside the protection zone only.
This equipment can be used by children of 8 years and older and by people with limited

physical, sensory or mental capacities or those with no experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have received instruction in how to use the equipment safely and understand the dangers which result from such use. Children are not allowed to play with the equipment. Unless supervised, children are not allowed to clean the equipment and carry out user-level maintenance work.

Children younger than 3 years must be kept away unless they are continuously supervised.
Children of 3 years and younger than 8 years are allowed to use the equipment only if they are supervised or have received instruction in how to use the equipment safely and understand the dangers which result from such use, provided that the equipment is positioned or installed in its normal place of use. Children of 3 years and younger than 8 years are not allowed to insert the plug into the socket, regulate the equipment, clean the equipment and/or perform the maintenance which a user is expected to perform.
- Caution - Some parts of the product can become very hot and cause burns. Special care is required when children and persons in need of protection are present.

2.2 Items supplied

Please check that the article is complete as specified in the scope of delivery. If parts are missing, please contact our service center or the sales outlet where you made your purchase at the latest within 5 working days after purchasing the product and upon presentation of a valid bill of purchase. Also, refer to the warranty table in the service information at the end of the operating instructions.

  • Open the packaging and take out the equipment with care.
  • Remove the packaging material and any

packaging and/or transportation braces (if available).

  • Check to see if all items are supplied.
  • Inspect the equipment and accessories for transport damage.
    If possible, please keep the packaging until the end of the guarantee period.

Danger!

The equipment and packaging material are not toys. Do not let children play with plastic bags, foils or small parts. There is a danger of swallowing or suffocating!

3. Proper use

The equipment is designed for use as an additional heater in enclosed areas. It primarily emits heat by radiation straight on to objects and people who are in front.

The equipment is to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind caused as a result of this.

Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. Our warranty will be voided if the machine is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent purposes.

5. Before starting the equipment

Inserting batteries (Fig. 3-4):

  1. Open the battery compartment cover by pressing the lock (A) towards the middle and pulling the battery compartment out at the same time.
  2. Insert the battery (B) in the battery compartment with the positive pole facing down.
  3. Press the battery compartment cover into the remote control.

As the end user you are legally required to return spent batteries. You can hand them in at public collection points provided by your council or sales outlets where batteries of this type are sold.

6. Operation

Warning! Before using the equipment for the first time, check that the voltage supply is the same as the voltage details set out on the rating plate.

  • Read the safety regulations in section 1.
  • When the equipment is used for the first time or after a long period of rest, it may emit an odor for a short time. This is not a fault.

All modes and functions can be set using the buttons on the appliance as well as with the remote control. The remote control requires a CR 2032 button cell (included in delivery).

6.1 Switching on the appliance

The ON/OFF main switch (Fig. 1 / Item 4) is used to disconnect the equipment completely from the mains supply.

The first step when you want to use the appliance is to turn on the main switch; the last step when you no longer need the appliance is to turn off the main switch. After the main switch is switched on, the equipment will be in standby mode.

The heater shows the current equipment temperature. The time display (00:00) for the timer flashes.

6.2 Heating mode (Fig. 2)

With the On / Standby button (Item 12) you can switch the equipment on or to standby mode. Press the On / Standby button (12) to switch on the equipment. The desired temperature (default setting 38^ ) fl ashes. The current equipment temperature is then shown in the display, along with the "Low heat output" and "Blower" symbols. The time display (00:00) flashes briefly and then shows the operating time which has elapsed. The heater operates with low heat output and the blower.

Press the "Mode" button (11) and by so doing select the heating function in the following sequence.

Low heat output -> High heat output and blower -> Frost protection function -> Low heat output and blower -> Low heat output, etc.

6.3 Setting the desired temperature.

A desired temperature can be set between 5^ - 38^ , which is the temperature range of the integrated temperature sensor (equipment temperature). Press the + or button to increase or reduce the desired temperature.

For the equipment to heat, the desired temperature must be set higher than the indicated equipment temperature. If the desired temperature is exceeded by 2^ , the equipment will switch off again.

In the frost protection function the temperature is set to a default setting of 7^ and cannot be adjusted.

6.4 Timer (Fig. 2)

Once you have first set the desired heating mode and the desired temperature, you can program a time for switching on (ON^ ) or a time for switching off (OFF^ ) . You can select from between 1 min to 23h 59min. It is also possible to combine the switch-on time with the switch-off time.

Press the "Clock" button (14) and select the timer function in the following sequence. Switch-on time hour -> Switch-on time minute -> Switch-off time hour -> Switch-off time minute -> Continuous operation

While the Switch-on time / Switch-off time is flashing in the display, set the hours / minutes by pressing the + / - buttons.

When the switch-off time has elapsed, "End" is shown in the display and the heater switches off.

6.5 Overheating guard

In case of excessive heating the equipment will shut down automatically. If this occurs, turn off the equipment, disconnect the mains plug and wait a few minutes for the equipment to cool. After eliminating the cause (e.g. a covered air grille), the equipment can be switched on again.

6.6 Topple cut-out

NOTE! The equipment has a topple cut-out. If the equipment is tilted beyond a certain angle, it will be deactivated automatically and only restarted after it has been returned to its upright position (standby).

7. Replacing the power cable

Danger!

If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.

8. Maintenance and cleaning

Danger!

Before carrying out any cleaning and maintenance work the equipment must be turned off, disconnected from the power supply and cooled down.
- Maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by an authorized electrical servicing contractor or ISC GmbH.
- Check the power cable at regular intervals for signs of defects or damage. A damaged power cable may be replaced only by an electrician or ISC GmbH in compliance with the relevant regulations.
Use a damp cloth to clean the casing.
- Remove dust with a vacuum cleaner.

10. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offices.

11. Storage

Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30 ^ C . Store the electric tool in its original packaging.

This does not apply to any accessories or aids without electrical components supplied with the old equipment.
