Information on these instructions

These operating instructions contain important information for proper and safe operation of the product.

Therefore, read the operating instructions through in full before you use the product. Otherwise there is a risk of hazards to personnel and damage to the product.

Keep the operating instructions safe. If you pass on the product to third parties, you must also hand over the operating instructions with it.

Intended use

The product is used exclusively for humidifying and giving aroma to the air in dry, closed indoor rooms. The product is not intended for commercial use but rather only domestic use.

Intended use also includes compliance with all information and specifications contained in these operating instructions. Any use other than for its intended purpose shall be deemed as misuse.

Misuse

Misuse of the product can lead to hazardous situations.

• Fill the product only with water or aromatic water and use no other liquids.

• Do not use the product in wet rooms, such as bathrooms or saunas.

• Do not use the product in rooms with open fire (fireplace, gas cooker, candles etc.).

• Do not insert any objects into the openings of the product.

• Do not place the product directly in front of an air conditioning unit or other electrical devices.

The device must be used only with the adaptor (IVP2400-0500WG) supplied with the appliance.

Children

This device can be used by children of 8 years of age and above and by persons with restricted physical, sensory or mental capacity or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the device and understand the resultant hazards.

■ Make sure that the product is set up out of the reach of children.
■ Make sure that children are not allowed to play with the product at any time.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.
- Do not leave packaging material lying around unattended. There is a risk of asphyxiation.

Improper handling

Improper handling of the product can cause injuries.

Make sure that the product is connected properly. In the process, adhere to these operating instructions.
■ Make sure that the product is used properly. Never cover it.
■ Be aware that unauthorised conversion and / or modification of the product is prohibited. In case of unauthorised conversion and / or modification the warranty cover will be rendered null and void.

Never open the water tank during operation.

Before filling or emptying the product, always pull the mains plug from the socket.
Before installation, cleaning or a period in which the product is not used, pull the mains from the socket.
- Empty the water tank before a period in which the product is not used.

• Contact the manufacturer or a specialist if you have any doubts regarding the way the product works, its safety or how to connect the product.

Setting up

If liquids, damp air or fire come into contact with the product, there is a risk of injuries.

• Do not set up the product in rooms with high air humidity, such as bathrooms or saunas.
  ■ Make sure that no liquids enter into the inside of the housing. This will not only destroy the product but there is also a risk of fire.
• Protect the product from the effects of the elements. Do not set it up outdoors.

Only ever place the product on flat surfaces. If placed on an inclined surface, water from the water tank may enter into the housing.

Functions

The aroma diffuser is a modern fragrance diffuser which uses ultrasound technology to generate a fine mist and thus distribute the fragrance throughout the whole room. In addition, the aroma diffuser features the following functions:

■Clock: The aroma diffuser features an LED display that shows the current time.
Timer: The timer can be used to switch off the diffusion of the fragrance after a selected period.
Light: The aroma diffuser features an LED that shows either the selected colour or automatically changes the colour.
Automatic: The aroma diffuser features automatic on and off switching to allow extended use without refilling.

Operating buttons

The aroma diffuser is controlled by four operating buttons.

Button Function
ON/OFF	On / Off button:This button can be used to switch the aroma diffuser on and off. You can only switch on when the water tank is correctly filled.
MODE	Mode button:This button can be used to switch the automatic mode of the aroma diffuser on and off. In automatic mode, the aroma diffuser sequentially switches misting on for 30 seconds and off for 10 seconds.
LIGHT	Light button:By pressing the light button repeatedly, you can change the colour of the LED lighting on the base of the device. The colour is switched in the following sequence:Automatic colour change → red → green → blue → off
TIMER	Timer button:By repeatedly touching the timer button, the timer can be set for automatic deactivation of the device. The setting is displayed by the LED. The following times can be set:30 minutes → 60 minutes → 120 minutes → 180 minutes

Setting the time

1. Keep timer button pressed for five seconds.

A beep is sounded and the LED display starts to flash.

1. Repeatedly press mode button until the desired hour is set.
2. Repeatedly press light button until the desired minute is set.
3. Wait five seconds.
   The setting mode ends automatically and the set time is confirmed.

Cleaning and servicing

Before cleaning, pull the mains plug.

• Empty the device after each use and dry the water tank with a cloth.
• Wash the water tank with clear water when you wish to change the aroma. This prevents mixing different aromas.
• Only clean the outside of the device with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Then rub it dry with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not under any circumstances us brushes, sharp cleaning implements, benzene, thinners or alcohol.

Dscaling

Descale the device after five or six uses or every 14 days. To do so, proceed as follows:

1. Disconnect the device from the power supply.
2. Fill the water tank with a maximum of 70ml and add a tablespoonful of citric acid.
3. Allow the liquid to take effect for at least fifteen minutes.
4. Empty out the liquid.
5. Wipe out the water tank with a dry cloth.

Disposal

Electrical and electronic components must not be disposed of with the domestic waste. Once the product reaches the end of its service life, dispose of it and its components separately in accordance with the local valid regulations for disposal.

Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is.

The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observation of the user instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.

1. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
