2. Wearing the heart rate monitor/mounting the bicycle bar bracket
A. You can wear the heart rate monitor as a wristwatch or you can mount it on the handlebar of your bike B. Positioning the transmitter belt
- Connect the transmitter belt with the elastic strap (via eyelet)
- The elastic band should be adjusted snugly, yet not too tight to hinder your breathing ENGLISH

4. Functions of the operating keys
MODE 1: Changes between stopwatch, average heart rate, max. heart rate, clock and date SET: Setting the clock, alarm, date, lower and upper limit, calorie accumulation, maximum heart rate, stopwatch on/off/reset ALARM: On/Off of alarm and backlight MODE 2: Changes between lap counter, calorie accumulation, percentage of maximum heart rate, time percentage above the upper limit and alarm For the following settings, please also use the picture on page 2 for a better understanding.
- Press MODE 1 key until CLK appears at top of display
- Hold SET key for 2 seconds until the word "hold” disappears and you get the blinking clock format
- Press SET key to select 12/24 h display and confirm with MODE1.
- Press MODE 1 to select hours and minutes, set flashing section with SET key.
- To complete and quit the setting press MODE 1 key
5. Alarm if you pass the upper and lower limit

II. Explaining and setting the
training functions The heart rate (Hr) is displayed in beats per minute.
1. Maximum Heart Rate- Maximum test
The maximum heart rate Hr MAX is your present maximum heart rate if you go to the limits of your capability. The individual Hr max depends on your age, your sex and your fitness level. The best way to determine the individual Hr max is a stress test. We recommend you to see a doctor to do this test and to repeat it regularly. The Hr max may also be estimated by means of the following mathematical equation. Men: 210 – half age – (0.11 x personal weight + 4) Women: 210 – half age – (0.11 x personal weight) Set of maximum heart rate
- Press MODE 2 to enter MAX % display. SET appears blinking.
- Hold SET key for 2 seconds until the word "hold” disappears and you get the blinking MAX format (30)
- Press SET key to select individual maximum heart rate.
- To quit the setting press MODE 2 key Set Date
- Press MODE 1 key until date appears in the display
- Press and hold SET key for 2 seconds until the word "hold” disappears and you get the blinking year format
- Press MODE 1 to select year, month and day, set flashing section with SET key.
- Press SET to start and Stop
- Press SET 2 Sec for RESET Alarm Audio Tone
- Press ALARM Key. A small sound wave icon will appear to signal that the audio alarm is activated. You will hear the audio display when your current heart rate is above or below your training zone limits.
- To deactivate, just press ALARM Key and icon will disappear. Set Alarm Clock
- Press MODE 2 until AL appears.
- Press SET key until HOLD disappears.
- Press SET to turn ON alarm. (bell icon will appear)
- Press MODE 1 to make hour flash.
- Press SET key to select hour.
- Press MODE 1 to switch to minutes.
- Press SET key to select minutes.
- Press MODE 1 to finish.
- Press any key to silence alarm.
- Repeat steps 1-3 to turn alarm to off. (bell icon will disappear) Backlight

2. The right heart rate for training
The training zone is the variation of the heart rate you want to train in for effective training An indication is: 65 % of the Hr max is your lower limit for training and 80 % of the Hr max should be your top limit. You can find out your estimated heart rate zone looking at the chart in accordance with your goals. A perfect training schedule can only be set up by a well-educated trainer, who knows you personally. Set upper/lower limit
- Press MODE 2 key to select % format
- Press SET key until the word "hold” disappears and the flashing upper limit with 240 is on display
- Press Set key to set upper limit, the figures run downwards
- Confirm upper limit by pressing MODE 1 key and select flashing lower limit (30) and press SET key to set it.
- To leave and confirm the setting push MODE 1 key If you exceed the upper or lower limit you will get an audible (if turned on) and visual alarm.
3. Time above the upper limit in one work-out session

- Press MODE 2 to enter KCAL display.
- Press SET key until the word "hold” disappears and the flashing KCAL factor is on display
- Select your specific factor in the table and press SET key to set it. Confirm factor by pressing MODE 1 key.
- Press SET key to set sex – male (M) or female (F).
- Press MODE 1 to select weight. Press MODE 2 to select kilogram (KG) or pound (Lb)
- Press Set key to set
- To quit the setting press MODE 1 key
- Stopwatch must be running for this functions to calculate
The lap counter is used for analyzing all lap times (e.g. in the stadium) regarding time and average heart rate of the lap. End of lap is confirmed by pressing a key. Set the lap counter
- Press MODE 2 to enter LAP display.
- Press SET key to start or stop a lap. Press SET at the end of every lap. Display is flashing for 5 sec and turns to the next lap.
- To stop the workout session press MODE 1 + MODE 2 for 2 seconds until the display is flashing.
- If you want to restart training, press set. 5.Calorie accumulation This heart rate monitor can analyze your calorie consumption during a physical effort; taking into consideration sex, weight, and specific sport factor the PC 14 can calculate the total calorie consumption of a person. - The inside surface of the conductive ribbed rubber pads are not clean or not moist

- Check battery of the transmitter LCD display is sluggish or black:
- Possible at temperatures under 34°F or above 131°F Display fades:
- Battery (Number CR 2025 or DL 2025) weak, change as soon as possible Watertightness: The SIGMA SPORT heart rate monitors and transmitter unit are water resistant to a 3m depth. The use in sea (salt water) should be avoided and can cause malfunctions
Battery in heart rate monitor: CR 2025 or DL 2025. Battery in transmitter belt: CR 2032 or DL 2032 The SIGMA SPORT heart rate monitor is a very sensitive and technical measuring instrument. To guarantee the function and the water resistance, the battery change has to be done only by an authorized dealer. Its warranty is void if the watch has been tampered with, taken apart or ill treated. The KCAL-factor resets automatically to 00069 after battery change and has to be corrected. The clock, maximum heartrate and upper/lower limits must be reset also.
- To stop workout session press MODE1 and MODE2.
- Press MODE2 for 2 seconds. The display changes between the average lap time and the total training time.
- Press SET to get the result of every lap.
- Press SET key for 2 seconds to reset.
- MAX, KCAL and AVG functions only work if stopwatch (STW) is switched on.
- Before you start to train contact your doctor to analyze you personal heart rate.
- People using a pacemaker or other such device should consult a physician prior to starting any exercise program
- Before wearing transmitter belt, pre-set upper and lower limit

III. Short Instruction
BASIC SETTINGS Set Clock and Date: Select the Clock or Data format by pressing the MODE 1 key. Hold SET key for 2 sec. Set Formats with MODE 1 and SET key. Stopwatch: Press MODE 1 to enter STP display. Use SET key to start and stop. Press SET 2 sec for RESET. Alarm Audio Tone: To activate, just press ALARM key. Set Alarm Clock: Press MODE 2 until AL appears and SET key until HOLD disappears. Use SET and MODE 1 key to turn ON/OFF and select time. Backlight: Press ALARM key 4 sec. TRAINING FUNCTIONS Set of maximum heart rate: Press MODE 2 to enter MAX % display. Hold SET key for 2 sec. Press SET key to select individual maximum heart rate. To quit press MODE 2 key. Set upper/lower limit: Press MODE 2 key to select % format. Press SET key until the flashing upper limit with 240 is displayed. Select the limits with SET key and confirm the setting with MODE 1. Set calorie accumulation: Press MODE 2 to enter KCAL display. Press SET key until the flashing KCAL factor is displayed. Select your specific factor in the table and press SET key to set. Confirm with MODE 1 key. Press SET key to set sex – male (M) or female (F). Press MODE1 to select weight. Press MODE 2 to select kilogram (KG) or pound (Lb). Press SET key to set. To quit press MODE 1. Set the lap counter: Press MODE 2 to enter LAP display. Press SET key to start or stop a lap. Press SET at the end of every lap. Display is flashing for 5 sec and turns to the next lap. To stop the workout session press MODE 1 + MODE 2 for 2 sec until the display is flashing. Press SET to restart training. To review your workout first stop workout per above, then press MODE 1 and MODE 2 key together. The display changes between the average lap time and the total training time. Press SET to get the result of every lap. Press SET key for 2 sec to reset.
