USER MANUAL Gustivio CF7 MOULINEX
Important : For your convenience this appliance is supplied complete with a plug incorporating a 13 amp fuse. In the event of replacing a fuse in the plug supplied, a 13 amp fuse approved by ASTA to BS1362 must be used. If the socket outlets are not of the 13A BS 1363 type, and therefore do not accept the plug connected to this appliance, cut off the plug if moulded type or remove the plug if connected by screw terminals. When the plug is a moulded type and this is cut off from the appliance, the connected wires are a shock hazard. Do not under any8 circumstances connect a cut off plug into the electrical socket outlet. The cut off plug must be disposed of in a safe manner that prevents any form of connection. If the fuse cover is detachable, never use the plug with the cover omitted. Replacement covers can be obtained from your service agent. Fit the appropriate plug according to the ins- tructions in paragraph "Fitting a plug". With alternative plugs a 15 amp fuse must be fitted either in the plug or adaptor or at the main fuse box.
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
GREEN & YELLOW : EARTH
BLUE : NEUTRAL BROWN : LIVE As the colours in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured GREEN & YELLOW must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter ‘E’ or by the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow. The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter ‘N’ or coloured black. The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter ‘L’ or coloured red. This appliance is manufactured to conform to the Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1989 and is designed to comply with BS 3456. It complies with the requirements of the EEC Directive (89/336/EEC) Any connection error will render the guarantee null and void. - It is essential that your appliance is connected by means of an earthed plug. Non compliance with this obligation can cause an electric shock and may lead to serious injury. It is vital for your own safety that the earth plug corresponds to the electrical installation standards in force in your country. - If your wiring system does not include an earthed socket, it is vital that you call in a qualified electrician before plugging in the appliance in order to bring your household electrical wiring system up to standard. - Your appliance is intended exclusively for domestic use and within the home. - Unplug the appliance once you have finished using it and when you are cleaning it. - Do not use your appliance if it is not working correctly, or if it has been damaged. In either case, contact an approved Moulinex service centre (see list in service booklet). - Any intervention other than cleaning and normal maintenance must be carried out by an approved Moulinex service centre. - Never put the appliance, the power cable or the plug into water or any other liquid. - Never allow the power cable to hang down within reach of children. - The power cable must never be in close proximity to or in contact with the hot parts of your appliance or a source of heat or rest on sharp edges. - If the power cable or the plug are damaged, do not use the appliance. To avoid any risk, these must be replaced by an approved Moulinex service centre (see list in service booklet). - For your own safety, use only Moulinex accessories and spare parts which are suitable for your appliance. - Set-up your appliance on a worktop, well away from any source of heat and from any risk of water splashes. Before using your appliance for the first time - Unpack your appliance and retain the guarantee card, which is on the packaging, then carefully read the instructions for use. - Wash the inter-changeable plate (A), the measuring cup and spatula with warm water and washing up liquid. Rinse and dry. - When you first use your appliance, there may be a small amount of smoke produced. This is normal for first-time use and will dissipate. - For the first few uses, slightly oil the plate. Getting started - Plug in the appliance. Switch the On/Off button (F) to “on”. The indicator light (E) will now come on.9 - Pre-heat the appliance for about 15 minutes whatever the use: grilling or making pancakes. . Grill function: - Watch out for spatters when grilling fatty meat. - Prick your sausages before grilling. - Never use metallic utensils to turn over or remove the meat. . Pancakes function: - Use the measuring cup to pour out the required quantity of pancake batter. - Spread the batter with the back of the measuring cup. - Use the spatula to turn over or remove the pancakes. Cleaning - Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down. - Never immerse the body of the appliance in water or wash it under running water. Clean it with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry carefully - Never use a scouring pad, alcohol or scouring powder. - The plate (A) can be washed in the dishwasher. - Do not however wash any other part of the appliance in the dishwasher. What to do if your appliance does not work? - Check: . the electrical connection and fuse. . that the appliance is switched on (indicator light on). If your appliance still does not work? In this case, contact your retailer or an approved Moulinex service centre (see list in the “Moulinex service” booklet). Recipes . GRILLED MEATS Per person: 1 lamb chop 1 lamb kidney 1/2 slice of lamb’s liver 1 sausage 1 slice of smoked bacon 1 tomato 1/2 onion Oil Powdered coriander and cumin Salt, pepper - Pre-heat the appliance, cook your meat and vegetables. Serve them with crisps, chips or a green salad.
. GRILLED SOLE AND GAMBAS WITH CHIVE
BUTTER For 4 people: 4 small sole, plaice or dab, skinned Gambas or large prawns Fine herbs (thyme, parsley) Chives Oil Salt, pepper - Wash and drain the fish. Place them on a large dish and sprinkle them with salt, pepper, fine herbs and chives. Set aside in the fridge. Preparing chive butter: - Using a fork, mix the soft butter, the juice of 1/2 lemon, chopped chives, salt and pepper. - Shape the butter by hand into the form of a roll, wrap it in plastic film and leave to re- harden in the fridge for one hour. - Pre-heat the appliance and cook the lightly oiled gambas and fish. - Present the chive butter in rounds on a small serving dish. - Serve with potatoes or rice.
16 large prawns Limes or lemons Moorish sauce 2 egg yolks 2 glasses of olive oil 1 tsp. of mustard 1 shallot 1 garlic clove 1 lime 1 tbsp. of fresh cream 1 tsp. of paprika 1 tsp. of tomato purée 1/2 tsp. of harissa Salt, pepper Preparing the Moorish sauce: - Finely crush the shallot and garlic. Place this mixture in a large bowl with salt, pepper, mustard and egg yolks.10 - Mix and pour in the oil bit by bit to make a mayonnaise. Then mix in the lime juice, fresh cream, paprika, tomato purée and harissa. Set aside in the fridge. - Pre-heat the appliance and grill the prawns and the gambas, cut into two, to facilitate grilling. - Garnish with lemon or fine herbs and serve with the Moorish sauce. . PANCAKE BATTER For 6 people: 1/2 litre of milk 3 eggs 2 tbsp. of sugar (for sweet pancakes 2 tbsp. of oil 250 g of flour Orange flower water (for sweet pancakes) - Mix all the ingredients until you obtain a smooth batter (use a liquidiser, hand-mixer or hand-blender: this will speed up the work and the batter will not be lumpy). - Pour it in a large bowl and leave to stand for one hour in the fridge. - Pour the equivalent of one measuring cup of batter into each cooking surface and cook for about 1 minute on each side.
. BUCKWHEAT PANCAKE BATTER
For 6 people: 125 g of buckwheat flour 25 g of wheat flour 1 tsp. of salt 400 ml of water 1 egg - Mix all the ingredients until you obtain a smooth batter like a pancake batter (use a liquidiser, hand-mixer or hand-blender: this will speed up the work and the batter will not be lumpy). - Place it in a large bowl and leave to stand for one hour in the fridge. - Pour the equivalent of one measuring cup of batter into each cooking surface and cook for about 1 minute on each side. . BLINIS 350 g of flour 1/2 litre of milk 3 eggs 70 g of melted butter 1 sachet of baking powder 1/2 tsp. of sugar 1/2 tsp. of salt - Mix the baking powder and sugar in a glass with 3 tbsp. of lukewarm water. Place the glass in a saucepan with lukewarm water. - Cover the saucepan and leave to stand for about 20 minutes. The mixture must triple in volume - Separate the whites and egg yolks. - In a bowl, mix the flour with the salt, egg yolks and baking powder. Add the lukewarm milk, mix well together. - Leave the batter to stand for 2 hours at room temperature. - Add directly the melted butter and the whisked egg whites. - Pre-heat the plate and butter it slightly. Pour the equivalent of 2 measuring cups of batter. - When the blini lifts off the plate, turn it over with the spatula (2 minutes cooking time on each side). - Serve with fish, lumpfish or taramasalata. . TORTILLAS BATTER For 6 people (preparation time: 15 min; standing time: 1 hour) 125 g of wheat flour 125 g of cornflour* (from delicatessens) 10 g of salt 3 tbsp. of olive oil 350 ml of water - Mix all the ingredients to a smooth batter like pancake batter (use a liquidiser, hand-mixer or hand-blender: this will speed up the work and the batter will not be lumpy). - Place the batter in a bowl and leave to stand for 1 hour in the fridge. - Pour the equivalent of one measuring cup of batter into each cooking zone and cook for approximately 1 min 30 on each side.
- If you cannot find cornflour, you can use wheat flour. . PANCAKES (about 12 pancakes) 125 g of flour 1/2 tsp. of sugar 1/2 tsp. of salt 1 tsp. of bicarbonate of soda 1/2 tsp. of baking powder 1 egg 30 g of melted butter 25 cl of milk
