How to install the batteries in the PL100?

Open the cover on the back of the PL100 by pressing in the direction of the arrow and push outward. Insert three type 675/LR-44 batteries, respecting the polarity (+). First place the first battery between the + pole and the contacts, then the second against the - pole, and the third between the first two. Close the cover.

How to use the PL100 with a mobile phone?

Place the magnetic loop around your neck and connect the 2.5 mm jack plug via an adapter to your mobile phone's socket. Turn the wheel to switch on the PL100. Set the phone volume to maximum and use it normally. To turn off, turn the wheel fully counterclockwise until it clicks.

What types of hearing aids are compatible with the PL100?

The PL100 is compatible with hearing aids equipped with a telecoil. The hearing aid must be set to the 'T' or 'MT' position to receive the inductive signal.

What to do if the sound is distorted or of poor quality?

Check that the mobile phone antenna is more than 20 cm away from the PL100 to avoid interference. Set the mobile phone volume to maximum so that the caller's voice dominates background noise. Ensure the batteries are correctly installed and charged.

Inserting the batteries

The PL-100 requires three hearing aid batteries (type 675, LR44)

1. Open the cover on the back of the PL-100 by pushing it outwards

2. Insert the three batteries so the + sign matches up with the + mark in the battery compartment (spring contact end).

3. Insert the batteries in the following order:

4. first battery between +ve terminal and plastic stops

5. place the second battery against the -ve terminal
6. insert the third battery between the first and second batteries.
7. Replace the battery cover.

Functional principle

The PL-100 generates a loop signal which can be received by a hearing aid with a built-in neckloop. This option is activated by setting the hearing aid to the »T« or »MT« position.

Making and receiving calls

1. Place the neckloop around your neck and plug the 2.5 mm jack plug into the connection jack socket provided on your mobile phone or its adaptor.

2. Switch on the PL-100 and adjust to suitable volume.

3. Use your mobile phone in the normal way (making and receiving calls).

4. Switch off the amplifier by turning the volume control anticlockwise until you hear a click.

Note

Set the volume control of your mobile phone to the maximum so you can hear the voice of the person you are talking to clearly over any background noise.

Induction loop fastener

The induction loop fastener makes it easy to put on the device and minimizes the risk of accidents.

Maintenance and care

The PL-100 does not require any maintenance. If the unit does become dirty, simply wipe it clean with a soft, damp cloth. Never use spirits, thinners or other organic solvents. Do not set up the PL-100 where it will be exposed to full sunlight for long periods. In addition, it must be protected against excessive heat, moisture and severe mechanical shocks.

Note: This product is not protected against splash water. Do not place any containers filled with water, such as flower vases, or anything with an open flame, such as a lit candle, on or near the product.

Please make sure that the batteries are not exposed to excessive heat from such as sunlight, fire or anything similar.

Warranty

The PL-100 is a very reliable product. Should a malfunction occur despite the unit having been set up and operated correctly, please contact your dealer or the manufacturer directly. This warranty covers the repair of the product and returning it to you free of charge. It is essential that you send in the product in its original packaging, so do not throw the packaging away. The warranty does not apply to damage caused by incorrect handling or attempts to repair the unit by people not authorised to do so (destruction of the seal on the unit). Repairs will only be carried out under warranty if the completed warranty card is returned accompanied by a copy of the dealer's invoice/ till receipt.
