FOR YOUR SAFETY

1. Please read the following instructions and keep them on hand for later reference.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or with lack of experience or limited knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or have been instructed on how to use the appliance.
3. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
4. Connect appliance only to an AC power supply with voltage as specified on the rating plate.
5. Do not operate this appliance with an external timer or remote control system.
6. Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Protect the appliance from moisture.
7. For safety reasons never use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath tub or sink filled with water, or in the vicinity of other vessels filled with water.
8. Ensure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot parts of appliance.
9. Always ensure that the power cord is laid out its entire length to prevent damage due to overheating.
10. To unplug the appliance, only pull on the plug, never pull directly on the power cord.
11. Never wrap the power cord around the appliance. Wrapping the power cord around the appliance can damage the appliance - danger due to electric shock!

12. Do not use an extension cord to operate the appliance.

13. As additional protection, we recommend installation of a residual current device (RCD/Fl) with a tripping characteristic of not more than 30mA in the bathroom power circuit. Consult with your electrician.

14. The appliance is intended for household use only; it is not designed for commercial requirements.
15. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
16. During operation, leave sufficient space between the appliance and walls and other flammable objects such as curtains.
17. Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of heat sources.
18. For safety reasons do not use the appliance to style artificial hair.
19. Keep the appliance or parts of the appliance away from your face and ears to avoid burns.
20. Due to danger of explosion do not use any hair sprays as long as the appliance is in operation or if the appliance is still hot.
21. The appliance is very hot during and after use, please handle it carefully to avoid burns.
22. Switch off the appliance before you set it down.
23. Before moving or cleaning the appliance after use, always switch off and unplug the appliance and allow it to cool.
24. Do not unplug the plug if your hands are wet - danger due to electric shock!
25. As long as the plug is in the electrical outlet, even if appliance is switched off, the appliance is a hazard in the vicinity of water.
26. Do not insert any objects into the appliance, due to the ensuring damage, there is danger of electric shock.
27. Only use the appliance for the purposes described in these instructions.
28. To avoid damage, do not use the appliance with accessories of other manufacturers or brands.
29. Never open the housing of the appliance. This can result in electric shock.
30. Check the plug and the power cord regularly for wear or damage. In case of damage to the power cord or other parts, please send the appliance for inspection and/or repair to our customer service organisation (for address, see warranty terms). Unauthorised repairs can result in serious risks to the user and will void the warranty.
31. If the power cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by the manufacturer's customer service organisation, or by a person with similar qualifications, to prevent hazards.

Caution! The appliance is very hot during and after operation! Particularly ensure that children are kept away from the appliance!

For safety reasons never use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath tub or sink filled with water, or in the vicinity of other vessels filled with water.

The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.

BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE

1. Remove all packaging materials and transport safeguards. Due to danger of suffocation, keep children away from the packaging materials.
2. You obtain the best results with dry hair. Consequently dry your hair thoroughly with hair dryer before using the curler.
3. Brush your hair until it falls loosely.
4. If necessary protect your hair with a heat protection product.

OPERATION

1. Prepare your hair as described in the chapter "Before using the appliance".
2. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
3. Switch on the appliance via the ON/OFF switch by keeping it briefly depressed. The indicator light shows that the appliance is in operation.
4. The heat-up time is approx. two minutes.
5. Divide combed hair into small strands that should not be more than 2 centimetres thick. If necessary separate the hair strands with a bobby pin.

1. Open the clip and place the end of the hair strand on the clip closure point in the lower end of the hair rail.
2. Release the clip, the hair strand is fixed in place.
3. Wrap the hair strand in the direction of the scalp by turning the curler to the inside.

4. If hair becomes tangled when winding it up, turn the curler in the opposite direction to loosen the hair and start over again.

5. Leave the hair strand wrapped around the curler until the hair strand is warm to the touch. Through curling trials, you can quickly determine the curling time that is right for your hair. If you leave your hair in the curler for a short time you will have gentle curls, if you leave your hair in the curler for a somewhat longer time you will have firm, springy curls. The maximum time should not exceed 20 seconds, to prevent damage to your hair.

6. Open the clip again. Now you can simply remove the curl out of the curling rail.

7. Repeat steps 6 to 10 to style the rest of the hair strands.

1. Switch off the appliance via the ON/OFF switch and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

2. Let your hair cool somewhat before styling your hair with comb, brush, or your fingers.

Caution! The appliance is very hot during and after operation! Particularly ensure that children are kept away from the appliance! Risk of burns.

CLEANING AND CARE

1. Switch off the appliance via the ON/OFF switch.

2. Unplug the plug from the electrical outlet.

3. Allow the appliance to cool completely. To do this, place the appliance on a heat-resistant substrate.

4. Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids in order to clean it.

5. Wipe off the appliance with a damp cloth.

6. Do not use sponges that can scratch, scouring agents, steel wool, metal objects, disinfectants or hot cleaning agents, as they can damage the appliance.

7. Protect the appliance from dust.

8. Allow the appliance to dry completely before reusing it or storing it.

STORAGE

1. Switch off the appliance via the ON/OFF switch.
2. Unplug the plug from the electrical outlet.
3. Allow the appliance to cool completely. To do this, place the appliance on a heat-resistant substrate.
4. Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance to prevent damage to the power cord.
5. Protect the appliance from dust.
6. Store the appliance in a protected, frost-free location.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS

We guarantee our appliances for 24 months, or in case of commercial use for 12 months, from the date of purchase in case of defects that occur during normal use and are demonstrably due to a factory fault. Within the warranty period we will remedy defective materials or workmanship through repair or replacement, at our option.

Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the responsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties.

Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.

WASTE DISPOSAL / ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Our appliances are produced on a high quality level for a long lifetime. Regular maintenance and expert repairs by our after-sales service can extend the useful life of the appliance. If an appliance is defective and repair is not possible we ask you to follow the following instructions for disposal.

Do not dispose this appliance together with your standard household waste. Please bring this product to an approved collection point for recycling of electric and electronic products.

By separate collection and disposal of waste products you help to protect natural resources and ensure, that the product is disposed in an adequate way to protect health and environment.
