Batteries
Open the battery compartment (1) by turning the bottom anti-clockwise with a coin. Insert one AA alkaline battery (1.5V) observing correct polarity. Replace the bottom by fitting it onto the battery compartment and turning clockwise to lock it. Replace the battery as needed. Make sure your hands and the appliance are dry when replacing the battery.
Mirror: Open the battery compartment (7b) as shown with a screw driver. Insert 3 button cells (type LR1130) with the + poles on top. Replace the battery cover.
Batteries may leak if empty or not used for a long time. In order to protect you and the appliance, please remove batteries in a timely manner and avoid skin contact whilst handling leaking batteries.
Facial epilation
- Before use, make sure your skin and the epilation head are thoroughly clean.
- Turn on the appliance by sliding the on/off switch (2) to the left or to the right. The rotating direction of the tweezers depends on the direction you move the switch when turning on. For best results, make sure that the tweezers rotate against the direction of hair growth. To become familiar with the appliance we recommend trying it first on the chin or near the outer corners of the mouth.
- Hold the appliance with the tweezers against a section of skin that you keep stretched with your free hand. Carefully guide it with gentle pressure against the direction of hair growth. Do not press too hard as this may lead to skin injury. To stretch the upper lip area, use your tongue to push from below. After use, slide the on/off switch to the (0) ( = off) position.
- Carefully clean the epilation head using the cleaning brush provided. You may want to dip the brush into ethanol (70%). Make sure that it is completely dry before you re-attach it and close it with the protective cap.
- To relax the skin we recommend applying a moisturizing cream after epilation.
- When epilating for the first time, it is advisable to epilate in the evening, so that any possible reddening can disappear overnight.
General information on epilation
All methods of hair removal from the root can lead to irritation (e.g. itching, discomfort and reddening of the skin) depending on the condition of the skin and hair. This is a normal reaction and should quickly disappear, but may be stronger when you are removing hair at the root for the first few times or if you
have sensitive skin. If, after 36 hours, the skin still shows irritation, we recommend that you contact your physician. In general, skin reactions and the sensation of pain tend to diminish considerably with repeated use. In some cases, inflammation of the skin could occur when bacteria penetrate the skin (e.g., when sliding the appliance over the skin). Thoroughly cleaning the epilation head and your skin before each use will minimise the risk of infection.
If you have any doubts about using this appliance, please consult your physician. In the following cases, this appliance should only be used after prior consultation with a physician: eczema, wounds, inflamed skin reactions such as folliculitis (purulent hair follicles) and varicose veins around moles, reduced immunity of the skin, e.g., diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy, Raynaud's disease, koebner phenomenon, haemophilia or immune deficiency.
When you begin taking hormones or if you change the type of hormone medication (e.g., contraceptive pill), the growth of your hairs may be influenced due to a change of your hormone level. This is caused by the change of hormonal conditions but not by the appliance.
Facial cleansing
- Pull off the epilator head, attach the brush adapter (6) and click-in the cleansing brush (5).
- Moisten your skin and the brush head lightly with water. You may use the facial brush as part of your daily cleansing routine: with soap, cleanser, cleansing milk, gel or simply with water.
- Turn on the appliance by sliding the on/off switch (2) to any direction.
- Guide the brush with gentle pressure and circular motions for approximately one minute. Avoid the eye area and hairline.
After use, slide the switch back to position «O». - Rinse your face with water to remove residues of the cleaning product used. - The brush can be rinsed with warm water. If you prefer cleaning it thoroughly with soap, you may detach the brush unit (5) by pressing the release button (6a). After cleaning, leave all parts to dry completely before reattaching. - For best results, replace the brush unit (5) every 3 months or sooner if bristles become deformed due to frequent usage. Brush refills (ref. no. 89 Facial Spa) are available from your retailer, Braun Service Centres or via www.braun.com.

Do not press too hard to avoid damaging the skin. To treat the area under the chin, press with the tongue from the inside.
- After use, move the switch to position "O" (=off). Carefully clean the head of the device with the cleaning brush provided with the device. You can dip the brush in a solution of 70% alcohol. Make sure it is completely dry before putting the protective cap back on.
- After depilation, it is recommended to apply a moisturizing cream to the face to soothe the skin. When you depilate for the first time, it is recommended to do it in the evening, so that any possible redness can disappear during the night.
Important information about depilation
All methods of hair removal from the root can lead to irritation (e.g., itching, unpleasant sensation, or redness of the skin) depending on the condition of the skin and hair. This is a normal reaction and should disappear quickly, but the reaction may be stronger the first few times you remove hair from the root or if you have sensitive skin. If the skin is still irritated after 36 hours, it is recommended to consult a doctor. Also, skin reactions and the sensation of hair can be significantly reduced with frequent depilation. In some cases, skin inflammation may occur if bacteria enter the skin (e.g., if you use the device on skin with pimples). Thorough cleaning of the device head and skin before each use will reduce the risk of infection.
If you have any doubts regarding the use of the device, consult your doctor. The device should only be used after consulting a doctor in the following cases: eczema, wounds, skin inflammation such as folliculitis (infection of the hair follicles) and dilated veins and around the mole area, reduced skin immunity, for example due to diabetes, during pregnancy, Raynaud's syndrome, hemophilia, or reduced immunity. If you start taking hormones or change the type of hormonal medication (e.g., contraceptive pills), the growth of hair may be influenced by the change in hormone levels in the body. This is a result of changes in hormone status, not a result of the device.
Cleaning the head
- Remove the head of the epilator, pull it by the release button (6) and start the cleaning process (5).
- Moisten the skin and the cleaning brush with water. The cleaning brush can be used as part of your daily cleansing routine: with soap, cleansing foam, cleansing milk, or simply with water. Turn on the device with the on/off switch (2) in any direction. Move the brush gently pressing on the skin and in circular movements for about one minute. Avoid the area around the eyes and hair.
- After use, move the switch back to position "O".
- Rinse the head with water to remove any residue of the cleansing product you used.
- To change the water, if you want to change it completely with soap, remove the brush (5) and rinse it thoroughly. After cleaning, leave all parts to dry before reattaching them. For best results, replace the brush (5) every 3 months or sooner if the bristles show signs of wear. Replacement brushes (ref. no. 89 Facial Spa) are available from your retailer, service centers, or at www.braun.com.

Information about the device
All methods of removing hair from the root can lead to irritation (e.g., itching, discomfort, and skin redness) depending on the condition of the skin and hair. This is a normal reaction and should disappear quickly, but it may be more pronounced during the first few epilations or if you have sensitive skin. If after 36 hours your skin is still irritated, we recommend consulting a doctor. As a rule, skin reactions and the sensation of pain decrease significantly with repeated use. In rare cases, skin irritation may occur due to bacteria penetrating through it (for example, when the device is used on skin with cuts). Careful cleaning of the epilator head and skin before each use will reduce the risk of infection.
