BOIL-DRY AND OVERHEAT PROTECTION

This unit has been fitted with a dry-out and overheat protection. If it should happen that you op- erate the unit without water or with too little water, the unit will switch off. Wait for a short moment until the unit has cooled down. Fill the unit with water and continue as usual.24 CLEANING OUTSIDE Remove the plug from the socket and let the unit cool down. Clean the unit and never hold the base station under running water and never immerse it into water.

REMOVAL OF ANTILIMESCALE FILTER

The removable anti-limescale filter prevents that limescale and dirt particles are poured out along with the water. For simple cleaning, the anti-limescale filter can be removed. ● Remove the filter when the electric kettle has cooled down. ● Pull the anti-limescale filter out upwards. ● Clean the anti-limescale filter under running water. ● To reinsert, press the anti-limescale filter from above behind the spout.

DECALCIFYING / INSIDE CLEANING

Depending on the degree of hardness of the water in your region, lime deposits will develop at the bottom and on the inside wall from time to time. The harder the water, the faster limit deposits will develop. Descale the unit in regular intervals, because too much scale can affect the performance of the unit. A defect which can be traced back to lacking descaling is not covered by warranty! If you regularly decalcify the unit, this will increase the service life of your unit. For decalcifying, we recommend to use Graef descaling tablets. The descaling tablets are available in our online shop www.graef.de under article No. 145618. Moreover, water also causes soiling on the inside of the container, which can also be removed by regular descaling. Process: ● Fill the unit with water up to the maximum fill-level marking. ● Insert the descaling tablet, allow the tablet approx. 5 minutes to dissolve. ● Re-boil the decalcifying mixture. ● Empty the unit, and rinse it several times with clear water. We do not assume any liability for lack of or insufficient descaling. In this case, the war- ranty will become null and void.25

UKR TWO-YEAR WARRANTY As from the date of purchase we assume manufacturer warranty of twenty-four months for defects which can be traced back to manufacturing and material defect. Your legal warranty claim in conformity with Section 437 et seq. of the German Civil Code (BGB) shall remain unaffected by this regulation. The guarantee does not cover any damage which is caused by incorrect handling or use as well as defects which only slightly influence the function or the value of the unit. We do not assume any liability for damage caused by lack of or insufficient descaling and maintenance. In this case, the warranty will also become null and void. More- over, transport damage provided we are not responsible shall be excluded from the claims under guarantee. Guarantee shall be ruled out for damage, the repair of which has not been carried out by us or one of our representations. In case of justified complaints, we shall repair the defective product or replace it by a product without defects at our discretion.26
