Before using for the first time
Clean the appliance and the heating plates before use as described in the section 'General care and cleaning'.
Travel lock
The locking mechanism allows for secure, space-saving storage e.g. when travelling. To lock the heating plates, push them gently together and slide the travel lock to the front.
Temperature selection
To avoid damage to the hair, always start with a low temperature setting, e.g. 150^ for thin or sensitive hair, 170^ for normal hair
and 190^ for thicker hair. If the hair can be straightened at that setting in two cycles, no further increase in temperature is necessary, as the optimum setting has already been reached.
Operation
The appliance should only be used on clean and dry or almost dry hair.
Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet.
Use the travel lock to secure the appliance. This will help to shorten the pre-heating time.
Use the On/Off switch to turn the appliance on.
Use the plus/minus temperature control keys to set the desired level, observing the above instructions. Pre-heating starts as shown by the red indicator light.
The appliance is now pre-heating; the selected temperature fl ashes in the display, while the temperature indicator bars move continuously from low to high.
During the heating phase, the appliance should be placed on a firm, heat-resistant surface.
Once the desired temperature has been reached, it remains steady on the display.
If the temperature is changed to a lower setting, it will start flashing again until the lower has been reached. In this case, the temperature indicator bars move
continuously from high to low.
Release the travel lock.
Take each strand of hair as close as possible to the roots and place it between the heating plates.
Bring the two arms together on the hair and gently pull through the hair, starting from the roots and working your way out to the ends.
Open the arms.
Check whether the result is as desired.
If you wish the shaping to be more pronounced, divide the hair into smaller strands and repeat the process.
- Switch off after use, remove the plug from the wall socket, place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface and allow it to cool down.
Automatic switch-off
The appliance switches off automatically 60 minutes after it has been switched on. The display shows 'Off'.
Hanging loop
The appliance has a hanging loop for easy space-saving storage after use.
General care and cleaning
Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
The exterior of the appliance may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
The heating plates may be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth, using a mild detergent. Ensure that they are thoroughly wiped dry afterwards.
