USER MANUAL Extra 2.4 GHz Receiver MARMITEK

• To prevent short circuits, this product should only be used inside and only in dry spaces. Do not expose the components to rain or moisture. Do not use the product close to a bath, swimming pool etc.
• Do not expose the components of your systems to extremely high temperatures or bright light sources.
• Do not open the product: the device contains live parts. The product should only be repaired or serviced by a qualified repairman

• Adapters: Only connect the adapter to the mains after checking whether the mains voltage is the same as the values on the identification tags. Never connect an adapter or power cord when it is damaged. In that case, contact your supplier.
• This product is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.

APPLICATIONS:

This 2.4 GHz extra receiver can be used in combination with various Marmitek video senders, including the Invisible Scart 200, Invisible Scart 300, GigaVideo45, GigaVideo80, TV Anywhere and the PC to TV sender. This 2.4 GHz receiver is not compatible with the GigaVideo70.

This 2.4 GHz extra receiver can easily be used to connect an additional TV set to your AV appliances.

SETTING UP THE 2.4 GHz RECEIVER

1. Connect a set of AudioVideo cables to the LINE OUT jacks [H + I] of your 2.4 GHz Receiver. Connect the other end to your TV. If your TV has a Scart connector, you may use the Scart adaptor provided; labelled: "Receiver".
2. Switch the Power slide switch [B] on the side into the "OFF" position.
3. Plug the supplied mains adaptor into a wall outlet and connect the plug to the backside of the receiver [E]. Only use the supplied mains adaptor!
4. Switch the Power switch [B] to the ON position.
5. Switch the channel switch [A] on the underside (A-B-C-D) to the same channel as your sender.
6. Positioning the receiver in a convenient location and orient the antenna [K].
7. Put the side antenna [J] of the remote control extender in an upright position.

If your extra TV set has already been connected to another A/V appliance, such as a video recorder.

In this case you can plug the 2.4 GHz receiver into the AV entrance of the extra AV appliance.

FINE TUNING YOUR SET

Make sure your AV equipment is switched on. Switch the receiving TV on and select the AV channel (normally found on the "0" or "AV" button). The picture should now automatically be there, no tuning is required.

The wireless set usually works best with the indented faces of the antennas [K] on the Transmitter and Receiver unit look at one another. Sometimes however distance, reflections and other effects in the home may affect the signal so that some adjustment of either Transmitter or Receiver antenna may be necessary to get the best signal.

If still experiencing difficulty, try changing the "ABCD" channel selector [A] and change channels. Remember though both the receiver and transmitter must be on the same channel. The maximum distance between transmitter and receiver depends on local circumstances, but on average the distance is up to 30m , through walls and floors.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you are not getting any signal at all:

Check that the units are connected to mains and that the Power-switch is in the ON position. Check that the Channel slide switch [A] on both units (receiver and transmitter) is set at the same number. Check if the receiving TV is on the correct AV channel. Raise the small black side antenna [J] to an upright position.

The signal I receive is weak.

• Try another channel (make sure both units are still set to the same channel).
• Slightly alter the position of the transmitter and/or receiver.
• You might be at the extreme end of the range. The range of the device can be influenced by local circumstances, such as a Wireless LAN network (WLAN).

The images and sound are perfect, but the infra-red return signal does not work.

Check the following:

• Depending on the local situation, the 2,4GHz signal can reach further through walls and signals than the 433MHz signal of the infra-red return signal. Try again with shorter distances.
• Moving the transmitter or receiver often solves the problem. Even a short distance (30 cm) to the left or right can make a difference.

Can I use a GigaVideo 70 sender with a 2.4 GHz Receiver?

No, both systems are not compatible.
