complied with. Safety When Handling Batteries ∙ There is a risk of injury and explosion if batteries are handled incorrectly. ∙ The appliance contains rechargeable batteries that cannot be replaced. Never replace the rechargeable batteries with other rechargeable or nonrechargeable batteries. ∙ WARNING! Use only the included power supply unit to charge the battery (see Technical Data). Never use another power supply unit to charge the batteries. The power supply unit provided must, in turn, only be used to charge the appliance batteries provided. ∙ When disposing of the appliance, take the motor 14

unit with battery to an appropriate collection point in your area to be disposed of in a safe and environmentally friendly way. Never dispose of batteries with household waste. Never disassemble the motor unit with the battery. Never expose to high temperatures or put it into a fire. The appliance must always be stored in a dry interior at temperatures between -10 °C and 60 °C. Failure to do so may damage the battery. If the battery is handled incorrectly, liquid may leak from it. Do not continue using a battery if it is damaged or leaking liquid. If there has been any leakage, avoid contact with

the liquid. ∙ If any contact with the leaked liquid occurs, rinse off immediately with plenty of water. In the event of any symptoms (of any kind), please consult a doctor. Intended Use ∙ The appliance is intended exclusively for mixing suitable foods, whipping cream, or beating egg whites. ∙ Use the appliance only with the accessories provided. ∙ Any other use not mentioned in the instructions is considered improper use and could result in serious injury or damage to the appliance. Before using for the first time ∙ Remove all remaining packaging material and any promotional stickers from the appliance. The nameplate must not be removed. ∙ Clean the appliance as described in the Cleaning and Care section. ∙ Charge the battery as described in the Charging the Battery section. Short-term operation The hand blender is designed for a short-time operation of 5 minutes (KB 5). This means that the hand blender should not be operated continuously for more than 5 minutes. Switch off the appliance

afterwards and allow the motor to cool down for 20 minutes. Switch settings ∙ The hand blender features a stepless switch. ∙ Position 0: Off ∙ Bottom switch position: For mixing light and liquid mixtures or when stirring in any ingredients ∙ Medium & top switch position: For stirring and kneading ∙ For heavy and tough dough mixtures, the top switch position must be used. Turbo setting With the appliance switched on, maximum speed may be obtained for short periods by pressing the turbo button regardless of the speed level selected. Selecting the attachments Beater attachments ∙ Suitable for light and liquid mixtures such as crèmes, mixing dough, mashed potatoes, egg white or cream etc. Dough hooks ∙ For heavy, kneading-type dough. ∙ The dough hook with the integrated plate must be inserted into the larger opening on the left, with the other dough hook inserted into the right opening.

Charging the Battery ∙ Charge the battery regularly, especially after any long period without use. This extends battery life and ensures the longest possible processing cycles. ∙ During the charging process, the appliance cannot be used. ∙ Plug the power adapter of the included power supply unit into the socket on the handle. ∙ Connect the power adapter supplied to the power socket. ∙ The LEDs should start to flash. ∙ When the battery is fully charged, all LEDs light up permanently. When the battery is empty, the charging process takes approximately 2 hours. ∙ Unplug the power supply unit from the power socket. ∙ Take the power adapter of the power supply unit out of the connection socket for the appliance. LED indication The six LEDs on the handle indicate the battery charge level: Charging: ∙ When the battery is low, the rear LEDs flash; when the battery is medium, the middle LEDs flash; and when the battery is high, the front LEDs flash. ∙ The more LEDs that are permanently lit, the higher the charge level. ∙ When all LEDs light up permanently, the battery is fully charged. Operation: ∙ The fewer LEDs that are lit, the lower the charge level. ∙ When the battery power is below 20%, 16

the rear two LEDs appear flashing. Overload: ∙ If all LEDs flash simultaneously, the appliance is overloaded and switches off. You can switch the appliance on again immediately if the battery has sufficient power. When the last two LEDs flash, charge the appliance first. ∙ If necessary, add less dough to prevent the appliance from switching off again. Operation ∙ Insert the selected attachments into the openings on the underside of the blender and push them gently upwards until they lock into place. ∙ Depending on the quantity of ingredients, use a sufficiently deep bowl. ∙ Any bowl, round container or glass is suitable, provided it is scratch-proof and the attachments can rotate freely inside. ∙ Once the attachments are fitted, take the blender in hand and position the attachments inside the container filled with the ingredients. ∙ Use the switch to turn the appliance on. ∙ Once processing is finished, or if you wish to interrupt the operation, switch off first and wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before lifting the attachments out of the mixture. Ejecting the attachments ∙ Always switch off the appliance from before any attachments are ejected. ∙ The attachments are automatically detached PUSH when the release button is pressed.

Cleaning and care ∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply. ∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, never clean the appliance or the power supply unit with liquids or immerse it. ∙ Use a slightly damp cloth to wipe the housing. ∙ The beaters and dough hooks can be cleaned in the rinse water or dishwasher. After cleaning, dry thoroughly.
