Damaged mains cable modules must not be used. They must be replaced by a new Kress mains cable module immediately.
Push the two unlocking buttons 2 and remove the mains cable module 1 from the handle.
Use only an original Kress mains cable module.
Slip Protection
The two slip protectors 9 prevent the machine from slipping sideward while routing biscuit grooves. When routing longitudinal grooves while guiding the machine sideward, the slip protectors 9 must be set inward by turning them.
Protective Guard for Routing Blade
As a protection measure, the protective guard for the routing blade 8 must always be mounted (exception: vertical joint connection). Push the protective guard 8 from below onto the stop 6 and allow it to engage.
Operation
Switching On and Off
To switch on the machine, push the On/Off switch 16 forward and press it down at the front to lock on.
To switch off the machine, press down the On/Off switch 16 at the rear so that the switch springs back to the off position.
Adjusting the Depth-of-cut
The routing depth is adjusted with the thumbwheel 17. The thumbwheel must latch in the respective position. The corresponding values are preset for the most common biscuit connections:
| Biscuit | Setting | Routing depth |
| Nr. 0 | 0 | 8,0 mm |
| Nr. 10 | 10 | 10,0 mm |
| Nr. 20 | 20 | 12,3 mm |
| Simplex | S | 13,0 mm |
| Duplex | D | 14,7 mm |
| Maximum | max. | 19,0 mm |
For special applications, the routing depth can be variably adjusted from 0 - 19.0mm
Set the thumbwheel to the "max." position. Push the machine forward until the routing blade has reached the desired routing depth. Set the depth stop adjustment 18 to this measure by loosening the lock nut 20 and turning the adjustment screw 19 (1 revolution = 0.7 mm). Tighten the lock nut again.
Adjusting the Stop 6
Adjusting the groove height
- With the adjustable height stop 6, the distance between the upper surface of the workpiece and the intended groove can be set.
Loosen the locking screw 10 and set the height of the groove at scale 14. Tighten the locking screw 10 again.
NOTE:
In order to position the groove centred in the workpiece, the adjustable height stop must be set to half of the workpiece thickness.
Example: For an 12 mm thick workpiece, set the height scale to 6 mm.
The correct groove height must be determined through practical testing according to material thickness and type of material.
Index stop
Three different groove heights can be set with the index stop 11. The index stops are factory set to 16, 19 and 25mm .
Loosen lock nut 12 and turn stop screw 13 until the desired height is reached. Tighten the lock nut again.
Always turn the index stop until it latches in the respective position.
Adjusting the groove angle
- The stop 6 enables easy cutting of grooves on litre joints.
Loosen locking screw 21 and set the groove angle at scale 22. Tighten locking screw 21 again.
Changing the tool

Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
Such preventive safety measures prevent accidental start of the power tool.

Operating tips
Choice of Biscuit Size
Always use the largest possible biscuit size for an optimal connection. For workpiece thicknesses
above 25mm 2 biscuits should be set above each other.
| Workpiece thickness | Biscuit size No. | Dimension |
| 8-12 mm | 0 | 47 x 15 x 4 mm |
| 12-15 mm | 10 | 53 x 19 x 4 mm |
| >15 mm | 20 | 56 x 23 x 4 mm |
Connection Types
The following wood connections/joints are possible:
Corner joint:

Groove-angle setting 0^
- Protective router cover 28 mounted
Use of index stop 11
Centre wall joint:

Groove-angle setting 0^ and 90^
For vertical routing, remove protective router cover
Lengthwise and cross joint:

Groove-angle setting 0^
- Protective router cover mounted
Mitre joint:

Groove-angle setting 45^
- Protective router cover mounted
Frame joint:

Groove-angle setting 45^
- Protective router cover mounted
- For workpiece thicknesses above 25mm a second routing groove/biscuit is required.
Marking the Groove Placement
The grooves are usually spaced between 10 and 15cm apart. The centre of the first groove should be located approx. 4 - 6cm away from the outer edge of the workpiece. The height of the groove should be centred to the workpiece. For narrow workpieces, the grooves can be routed directly on the carrier, the stop or the base plate, using the marks 7.
Routing Procedure
Keep your hands away from the cutting area and the cutting disc. Hold the auxiliary handle with your second hand.
When both hands hold the machine, they cannot be injured by the cutting disc.
Apply the machine to the workpiece only when switched on.
Otherwise there is danger of kickback when the cutting tool jams in the workpiece.
Before beginning to work, check for proper seating of the protective guard 8.
Before switching on, check if the automatic resetting feature of the motor unit operates properly: Press the machine with the base plate against a firm surface (e.g. a table edge) until the routing blade becomes visible. When releasing the pressure, the routing blade must be retracted all the way again.
Make sure that both slip protectors 9 are completely turned out.
Firmly hold the machine with both hands by the handle 4 and the motor housing 3.
Switch the machine on and guide it toward the workpiece. Pay attention that the applied pressure is uniform. Less pressure increases the working performance and makes the machine and the routing tools last longer.
Switch the machine off after the work cycle and wait until the motor unit has returned to the starting position.
Routing Longitudinal Grooves
Depending on the desired groove width, special routing blades must be used when routing longitudinal grooves.
For this, the slip protectors 9 must be deactivated.
Observe routing direction!

-WARNING-
The feed motion of the router must always be carried out against the rotation direction of the router blade (see direction-of-rotation arrow on the machine). Otherwise, the router can break loose, eliminating control by the user.
Routing Resin Galls
Resin galls can be routed when using special routing tools.
With such a routing tool, the slot width in the base plate 26 must first be extended to the maximum depth.
Use router blades size 100 × 8.1 mm .
Routing S6 Biscuit Joint Connections
For joints with plate thicknesses in excess of 30 mm, such as door frames, stairs or bed frames, the use of S6 biscuits is recommended.
Both grooves are to be routed 10mm apart.
Routing Thin/Narrow Workpieces
For narrow workpieces, use the stop 6 if possible and pay attention that the marks 7, where the router blade engages laterally, are within the workpiece.
NOTE:
For frame joints or thin workpieces, the use of H9 biscuits is recommended. A special routing tool is required for this.
5. Tools and accessories

Always wear a dust protection mask when working with the power tool.
Chip/Sawdust Extraction
Dust extraction prevents large accumulations of dust, high concentrations of dust in the ambient air and facilitates disposal.
For long periods of working with wood or for commercial use on materials that produce dust that is detrimental to health, the machine is to be connected to a suitable external dust extraction device.
For extraction of dusts that are particularly harmful to one's health, carcinogenic or dry, use a special vacuum cleaner.
Adapter for Connection with a Vacuum Cleaner

The adapter 25 enables the extraction of chips and sawdust using a commercially available vacuum cleaner.
If required, a rubber reducer must be used to reduce the connection diameter to fit the diameter of the vacuum cleaner hose.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the material being worked.
Mounting the Dust Collector
For small routing applications, the supplied dust collector 24 can be used for dust extraction.
Attach the dust collector to the stop on the adapter 25.
NOTE:
To maintain optimum dust collection, empty the dust bag 22 in good time.
To empty the dust collector, open the zipper and carefully strike or tap out the dust/debris.
Chip Ejection
With the ejector adapter 15, the direction of chip ejection is deflected to the side, keeping the work area free of chips and sawdust. Insert the ejector adapter into the ejector opening until it latches.
6. Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning

Before carrying out any work on the machine, pull the main plug.
Always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean.
- Wipe off the accessible plastic parts regularly with a cloth without cleaning agent.
Clean and grease the column guides 5 as required. Only use non-gummy oil (e.g. sewing machine oil).
Replacing brushes
Worn carbon brushes should be replaced by an authorised customer service organisation.
