USER MANUAL T515 ALTEC LANSING
CLASS B DIGITAL DEVICE OR PERIPHERAL Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.

10. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for the replacement of the obsolete outlet.
CAUTION To prevent electric shock do not use this (polarized) plug with an extension cord, receptacle or other outlet unless the blades can be fully inserted to prevent blade exposure.

12. Do not install in an area which impedes the access to the power plug. Disconnecting the power plug is the only way to completely remove power to the product and must be readily accessible at all times.
13. Power source — Use only power supplies of the type specified in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance. If a separate power supply is included with this apparatus, do not substitute with any other power supply — use only manufacturerprovided power supplies.
Snap plug into power supply and then insert the blades into the outlet. Please note, the T515 can also be powered with four AAA batteries.

What Does The Warranty Cover?: Altec Lansing warrants that its products shall be free from defects in materials or workmanship, with the exceptions stated below.
What Is The Period Of Coverage?: For units purchased in European Union or Asia, this warranty runs for two years from the date of purchase. For units not purchased in Europe or Asia, this warranty runs for one year from the date of purchase. The term of any warranties implied by law shall expire when your limited warranty expires. Some states and/or Member States in the European Union do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
The above limited warranties and remedies are sole warranties and remedies available to purchaser, if, and to the extent, valid and enforceable under the applicable law.

Also, consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. What Will Altec Lansing Do To Correct The Problem?:

How To Get Warranty Service: To get a covered product repaired or replaced, you must contact Altec
Lansing during the warranty period by email (csupport@alteclansing.com). You must include in your email, your name, address, email address, telephone number, date of purchase and a complete description of the problem you are experiencing. In the United States, you may alternatively contact Altec Lansing by telephone at 1-800-ALTEC88 — please be prepared to provide the same information. If the problem appears to be related to a defect in material or workmanship, Altec Lansing will provide you a return authorization and instructions for return shipment. Return shipments shall be at the customer’s expense, and the return must be accompanied by the original proof of purchase. You should insure the shipment as appropriate because you are responsible for the product until it arrives at Altec Lansing.

Turn your mobile phone into a sound machine
The Altec Lansing T515 Bluetooth Speaker/Headset System integrates your mobile phone and provides a speakerphone. It is also a portable stereo system with a wearable headset and a microphone. You can listen to music on your mobile phone, hear a phone call come in through the speakers or headset, take the call with the touch of a button, then touch the button again to go back to the music.

Talk and Standby Time
The fully charged rechargeable battery provides up to 7 hours of operation time and up to 20 hours of standby time. With four AAA batteries (LR 03), the Speaker System can provide up to 9 hours of operation time and 13 hours of standby time. Note: When no calls are in progress, the Headset stays in standby mode.
To charge the T515 Detachable Headset using your computer, connect it to your computer with the USB charging cable.
The red indicator light turns on. When the battery is fully charged, the red indicator light shuts off.
Low Rechargeable battery
When the Headset is on and detects low voltage, the red indicator light flashes every 3 seconds. To charge the T515 Detachable Headset inside the T515 Mobile Speaker System, connect it to a wall outlet using the power supply included.
Detachable Headset On/Off To turn on the Headset when it is separate from the Speaker System, press and hold the button for 2 seconds. The blue indicator light flashes 3 times and you hear a tone in the ear phones. To turn the Headset off, press and hold the button for 3 seconds. The red indicator light flashes 3 times and you hear a tone in the ear phones. Note: When docked, the Headset automatically turns on if the Speaker System is already on. Also, a docked Headset automatically turns on or off when the Speaker System is turned on or off.
Note: After the Headset is charged, remove it to avoid draining the
Speaker System batteries. Charging the Headset’s rechargeable battery takes about 3 hours. The red indicator light automatically shuts off once the battery is fully charged. If the Detachable Headset has not been used for a long time or if the rechargeable battery is drained charging may take a few minutes longer. Note: After the Headset is charged, remove it to avoid draining the Speaker System battery.
4. Release the button. The Headset is now in pairing mode.
5. Activate your mobile handset’s Bluetooth function (Consult your mobile handset user guide for details.) 6. Set the mobile handset to search for the Bluetooth device and select “T515” from the list (Consult your mobile handset user guide for details.) 7. When prompted by the mobile handset, enter the preprogrammed default PIN code “0000.” (Note: If you do not enter the PIN code, the Headset exits pairing mode and you hear a tone.)
System On/Off To turn the Speaker System on, press the button. To turn the Speaker System off, press the button again.
Detachable Headset To pause the music, press the button on the Headset when playing music from a Bluetooth mobile handset while the Headset is docked on the Speaker System.
Bluetooth-enabled computer The procedure for pairing a Bluetoothenabled computer is similar to the one for your mobile handset, but is subject to your computer’s Bluetooth software (Consult your computer user guide for details.)
Detachable Headset Before using your Headset for the first time, you must pair it with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile handset and/or a computer. After you complete pairing procedure, the Headset is ready to make and receive calls, as well as play music.
Incoming Call When you receive an incoming call, press the button on the Detachable Headset once to accept the incoming call. When you are listening to music and receive an incoming call, the music pauses automatically, and you can answer or reject the call. When the call ends, music resumes.
Pairing to your mobile handset
1. Place the Detachable Headset and the mobile handset no more than 3 feet (1 meter) apart. Note: Be sure there is nothing between them. 2. Ensure the Detachable Headset is turned off. 3. Press and hold the button until the red and blue indicator lights flash alternately.
Second Incoming Call
When you receive a second incoming call, press the button on the Headset once to accept the incoming call and put the current call on hold. Press the button once to switch between callers.
Redialing the Last Number from Your
Detachable Headset To redial the last number stored in your mobile handset, press the button for 1 second. You hear a tone when the number is redialed. Press the button to cancel redialing.
To end a call, press the button on the Headset once. You can also end the call using your mobile handset in the normal way. You hear a tone when the call ends.
Volume of Your Detachable Headset Increasing the Volume Press the button on the Headset to increase the volume one step at a time. When you reach maximum volume, you hear a tone on the ear phones.
When there is an incoming call, the mobile handset’s ring tone plays through the Headset on the ear phones or the Speaker System. If the built-in ring tone is not supported, the default ring sounds and the blue indicator light flashes.
Decreasing the Volume
Press the button on the Headset to decrease volume one step at a time. When you reach the minimum volume, you hear a tone on the ear phones. Note: When the Headset is docked on the Speaker System, the volume is set to a pre-defined level, and the and buttons on the Headset are disabled.
Press the button once to reject an incoming call during ringing. You can also reject the call using your mobile handset in the normal way. You hear a tone when the call is rejected. Dialing from Your Mobile Handset Simply make calls on your mobile handset in the normal way.
Adjusting the Volume of the Speaker System
Voice-dialing from Your
Detachable Headset If your mobile handset is equipped with a voice-dialing function, press the button on your Headset for 1 second, and say the voice tag. You hear a tone when the voice tag is registered. Press the button to cancel the voice tag. Note: Be sure to record voice tags into the mobile handset before using voicedialing function.
Increasing the Volume
Press the button on the Speaker System to increase volume one step at a time. Decreasing the Volume Press the button on the Speaker System to decrease volume one step at a time.
Note: If you were on a call when the link between your Headset and your
Mobile Handset was lost, the call will automatically transfer to your Mobile Handset.
Muting the Detachable
Headset Microphone To mute or un-mute the microphone temporarily, press for 3 seconds. A tone indicates the microphone is muted.
Listening to Music from the
Turning On/Off the Buzzer
To listen to music from the Speaker
System, turn it on and put the Detachable Headset into it.
Press the and buttons for
1 second to enable the buzzer. A tone indicates the buzzer is activated. Press the and buttons for 1 second to disable the buzzer. A tone indicates the buzzer is disabled. Note: When the buzzer tone is on, press or button for 1 second to stop the buzzer temporarily.
System with other Audio Sources The Line In Jack for other audio sources is located on the back of the Speaker System. Use it to connect any audio source that has a stereo 3.5 mm plug (i.e., headphone-style plug.) Caution: Make sure the audio source features a line-out jack. This ensures that the output is not amplified. Check the owner’s manual for your audio device for more information.
To transfer a connected call from your Headset to your mobile handset or vice versa, press the button for 3 seconds. A tone indicates the transfer has begun.
If you cannot solve the problem with this manual, try switching your
Detachable Headset and your mobile handset off and on again.
If the Bluetooth link between the
Detachable Headset – whether it is used with the speaker system or with the headphones – and your Mobile Handset is broken, follow these steps to re-establish it: 1. Press the button. 2. Press the button for 3 seconds. This will transfer the audio from the Mobile Handset back to the Headset/Speaker System.
