Game objective
Your goal is to discover all the locations of your enemy's ships and sink them before he can destroy yours. The game is played on 4 grids, two for each player. On the lower grid, you arrange your ships and record the shots by the opponent. On the upper grid, you record your shots on the enemy's ships.
Getting started
Assigning the game pieces
- Slide the barrier onto the base unit so that it is positioned between the horizontal grids.
- Assign the 10 plastic ships (5 to each player), the torpedoes, the radars and the mega-bombs (1 to each player).

Aircraft carrier (5-dots ship) = 1 per player.

Nuclear submarine (4-dots ship) = 1 per player.

Stealth battle ship (3-dots ship) = 2 per player.

Navy seals dinghy (2-dots ship) = 1 per player.

Torpedo = 1 per player.

Radar= 1 per player.

Mega-Bombe = 1 per player.
- Split the 200 white pegs, the 60 red pegs and the 10 flags between the 2 players, and store them in the corresponding storage compartments.
Fleet deployment
Before the battle begins, you must arrange a number of ships secretly on the lower grid (fleet grid). The players can also agree to play with less than 5 ships each.
Each vessel occupies a number of consecutive squares on the grid. They can be arranged vertically (letters A to J) or horizontally (numbers 0 to 9). They cannot be arranged diagonally or overlap. The number of squares for each ship varies according to the type of ship:
1 aircraft carrier = 5 squares as per the following example P1, P2, P3, P4, P5.
1 Nuclear submarine = 4 squares as per the following example D1, D2, D3, D4.
2 Stealth battle ships = 3 squares each as per the following example C1, C2, C3.
1 Navy seals carrier = 2 squares as per the following example V1, V2.

Game flow
- Slide the OFF/Lo/Hi selector switch on the "Lo" (low volume) or "Hi" (high volume) position to turn the game on. You will hear a welcome melody. After the ships have been positioned by the players on their grid, press any key. The unit will play a melody to let you know that the battle begins! When you have finished playing, just slide it back to the "OFF" position.
Note: the unit will turn itself off automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity. - The game is played by rounds. At each round, one player says out loud the coordinates of the target squares where he thinks there is an opposing ship. Select the first target squares in the opponents' grid and open fire! To fire, press the "Fire/special weapons" button.
- If your shot does not reach any target, your opponent presses the "Target missed" button to indicate that the shot fell into the water. Then he/she can use the white peg markers on the lower grid barrier. You should place a white peg on your upper grid to remember the shots already made
- If your shot hits one of the opponent's vessels, your opponent presses the "Target hit" button and you will hear a detonation. Then he/she must use the red peg markers on the ship that has been hit to mark the coordinates of the hit. lower grid barrier. You should place a red peg on your upper grid to memorize the positions of the target squares hit.
- When you hit the last part of your opponent's vessel, it will be completely destroyed. Your opponent must press and hold the "Target hit" button for a few seconds. You will hear a detonation, then the sound of the sinking. Your opponent then place a red flag on the top of the barrier to indicate that you destroyed one of his/her ship.
Hint: You think that all the parts of your opponent's vessel have been hit but it is not destroyed? Then, that means your opponent has 2 vessels located next to each other.
- The first player to destroy all of his opponent's vessels wins!
Jokers!
Each player can use special weapons or jokers: torpedoes, radar strike and mega-bombs. The players can agree before the game start if they want to use the special weapons or play with classic rules without jokers.
Torpedo: If you want to use a torpedo, just call out "Torpedo", then indicate the coordinates of a target square. Press the "Fire/special weapons" button twice. If a torpedo hits a ship, it automatically sinks the whole ship. Your opponent must hold the "Target hit" button for a few seconds and call out every coordinate of the ship that was hit. You can put up a red flag on the top of the barrier. Both players then put red or white pegs on the coordinates as appropriate. Once you have used the torpedo, you must place it on the upper grid (along with the red pegs if you have touched a ship).
Radar strike: To use the radar strike, you must call out "Radar strike", then press the "Fire/special weapons" button three times. Your opponent must give you the coordinates of one square occupied by one ship, then push 'the "Target hit" button and mark the coordinates as "hit" with a red peg. These coordinates must not have been hit before. Once you have used the radar strike, you must place it on the upper grid (as the radar strike always hit the target, it counts as a red peg).
Mega-Bomb: When using the mega-bomb, call out "Mega-Bomb", then indicate the coordinates of a target square. Press and hold the "Fire/special weapons" button for a few seconds. The Mega-Bomb can hit 5 squares t at once in the shape of a cross.
Example:
| 1 | 2 | 3 | |
| A | |||
| B | X | ||
| C |
In this example, the player chose the B2 square, and A2, B1, B2, B3, C2 are all fired on at once!
Your opponent must call out the coordinates that hit ships and those that missed. Both players then put red or white pegs on the coordinates as appropriate.
