USER MANUAL RD-E761 JVC
INTRODUCTION
- Thank you for buying our product.
- Please read through these operating instructions, so you will know how to operate your equipment properly. After you finished reading the instructions manual, put it away in a safe place for future reference.
DANGER

SAFETY
General
- Do not drop the device and do not expose it to liquid, moisture or humidity. These might lead to damage to the device.
- If the device is moved from a cold environment into a warmer one, do let it adapt to the new temperature before operate the device. Otherwise, it might lead to condensation and cause malfunctions in the device.
- Do not use the device in the dust environment as dust can damage the interior electronic components and lead to malfunctions in the device.
- Protect the device from strong vibrations and place it on stable surfaces.
- Do not attempt to disassembly the device.
- If the device is not using for a long period of time, disconnect it from the power supply by unplugging the power plug. This is to avoid the risk of fire.
- The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.
- No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
Risks associated with high volumes

Connect headphones with volume set low and increase it if required. Prolonged listening through some headphones at high volume settings can result in hearing damage. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.
Battery handling and usage
- Only adults should handle battery. Do not allow a child to use this device unless the battery cover is securely attached.

Remove batteries if exhausted or if they will not be used again for a long period. The incorrect use of batteries can cause electrolyte leakage and will corrode the compartment or cause the batteries to burst, therefore:

Do not mix battery types, e.g. alkaline with zinc carbonate.
- When inserting new batteries, replace all batteries at the same time.
- Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of properly.

To install the batteries
Lift off the battery compartment cover from the rear of the remote control. Insert 2 x 1,5V AAA size batteries in accordance with the diagram in the battery compartment. Take care to observe the correct polarity.
Remote control operation
To operate the device with the remote control, point the remote handset at the remote sensor on the front panel and press the appropriate button on the remote handset.
The remote works best within a range of 6 \~ 7 meters from the front panel and on an angle of 30 degrees. Bright sunlight or room light conditions can interfere with the remote control. If the remote operation is unsatisfactory or stops working entirely, first try replacing the remote batteries, then try reducing the room lighting conditions.
GETTING STARTED
CONNECTION AND PREPARATION
Power connection
Connect the mains cable to the AC INPUT socket of the device and then into a mains socket.
Warning: Ensure that the power supply voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the back of the device.
LINE IN connection
You can use the LINE IN to play any music from your phone or tablet. Connect the audio cable (included) to the LINE IN jack and the other end connects to the AUDIO OUT jack of your external device. Adjust the volume to your desired level. Press PLAY of the external audio source (eg. MP3 player) to start playback.
L/R AUDIO output connection
You can use the L/R AUDIO output to listen to music from this device on another external audio device. Use a suitable cable (not included) for the connection.
NOTE: L/R AUDIO output is active in CD and USB modes only.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Power on/off
Press the ⏻/I button on the device or press the ⏻ button on the remote control to switch on the device. Switch off to the standby mode with the same button.
Mode selection
Press the FUNCTION button on the device or the remote control to select
CD (USB)/FM/LINE IN/BT mode.
NOTE: You can use the BLUETOOTH button on the device to select the Bluetooth mode.
Volume
Press the V+/- buttons on the device or the remote control to adjust the volume. If you wish to turn the sound off, press the ✗ button on the remote control. Press the ✗ button again or press the V+/- buttons on the device or the remote control to resume normal listening.
Bass/Treble level
Press the BASS +/- buttons on the remote control to adjust the bass level.
Press the TREBLE +/- buttons on the remote control to adjust the treble level.
NOTE: You can use the TONE button on the device to set the Bass/Treble level.

FM RADIO
NOTE: Connect the radio antenna (included) to the device before listening to radio.

Scanning for stations
Press the SEARCH button to search for radio stations. After searching, the radio stations are stored in presets automatically.
Press the GoTo or ◀/▶buttons to change the stored radio station. After setting a new frequency, the radio station is stored in presets automatically.
Select preset stations
Press the NUMBERS or ◀/▶buttons to select the stored station.
CD
NOTE: This device can playback all digital audio CD, MP3, finalized digital audio CD-Recordable (CD-R) discs, finalized digital audio CD-Rewritable (CD-RW) discs and CD-DA format digital audio CD/CD-R/CD-RW discs.

Press the ▲button on the device or the remote control to open the disc compartment. Insert a disc with the label side up. Press the ▲button to close the disc compartment. Play starts automatically. If not pres the ▶button.
USB
NOTE: The device supports USB drives (FAT32) with up to 32 GB of memory. Only support MP3 audio format. Do not use any USB extension cable for connecting the USB drive.

Insert a USB drive into the USB port. Select the USB mode. Play starts automatically. If not pres the ▶ button.
NOTE: To select USB mode, switch the device to CD mode and then press the CD/USB button on the remote control.
CONVERT CD TO MP3 FILES
NOTE: Insert a USB drive to the USB port.

While playing a CD track, press the TRACK COPY button on the remote control to record a single track. While playing a CD, Press the ALL COPY button to record the full disc.
NOTE: All recordings are in ".mp3" format. The recordings are kept in a folder named "MP3"
IMPORTANT: Do not interrupt the recording, wait until the recording is finished.
BLUETOOTH
Select the BT mode. On your device enable Bluetooth and search for Bluetooth devices that can be paired (refer to the user manual of the device). Select JVC RD-E761 on your Bluetooth enabled device and if necessary input '0000' as the paring password. After successful pairing and connection tone is heard from the device.
Control the music playback from your Bluetooth device. Press ▶to skip to the previous/next a track. Press ▶to pause/resume playback.
NOTE: Compatibility with all Bluetooth devices is not guaranteed. The effective operation range between this unit and your Bluetooth enabled device is approximately 10 meters (30 feet). Any obstacle between the unit and the device can reduce the operational range.
MAINTENANCE / CLEANING
• Always power off the device when cleaning it.
- Never use any harsh or strong solvents to clean the device since these may damage the surface of the device. Dry, soft cloth is appropriate, however, if the device is extremely dirty, it may be wiped off with a slightly moist cloth. Make sure the device is dried off after cleaning.
When you are necessary to ship the device, store it in its original package. Save the package for this purpose.
