How to set the clock on the ECG RD 110 DAB radio?

Press and hold the Menu button until the menu appears. Use the +/- buttons to navigate to 'Time/Date' and press Select. Then set hour/minute using the buttons. You can also enable auto-update from DAB or FM.

How to scan for DAB+ stations?

Press the Source button to select DAB mode. Then press Menu, scroll to 'Full scan' and press Select. The radio will automatically scan and store all available DAB stations.

How to save a radio station as a preset?

Tune to the desired station, then press and hold one of the Preset buttons (1-10) until you hear a beep or see 'Preset saved'. For presets 11-20, press the Fav button first.

How to set the alarm?

Press the Alarm button. Use +/- to set hour and minute, then press Select. Choose alarm source (buzzer, DAB, or FM) and adjust volume. Confirm to set.

Why is the radio not turning on?

Check if the AC adapter is properly connected to the radio and wall outlet. If using batteries, ensure they are inserted with correct polarity and are not depleted. Also, try pressing the Power button firmly.

How to improve FM reception?

Extend the telescopic antenna fully. Adjust its angle and position. Keep the radio away from large metal objects or electronic devices. You may also try moving the radio to a different location.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

Yes, you can use Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (AA size). However, the radio does not have a built-in charger. Batteries must be charged externally with a suitable charger.

How to reset the radio to factory settings?

In standby mode, press and hold the Menu button for about 5 seconds until 'Factory reset?' appears. Press Select and confirm. All presets and settings will be erased.

What does 'DLS' mean on the display?

DLS stands for Dynamic Label Segment. It displays additional text information transmitted by the radio station, such as song title, artist name, or news headlines.

How to clean the radio?

First, disconnect the power and remove batteries. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to gently wipe the exterior. Avoid getting moisture into openings. Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasive materials.

- If batteries are used: • Do not expose batteries to excessive temperatures, e.g. direct sunlight, fire etc. Risk of explosion and injury. • Replace batteries only with batteries of the same type and with correct polarity. Otherwise there is a risk the system may explode. • Check them regularly for leaks. There is a risk of skin burns and damage to the device. • The device is designed for normal indoor environments. • Do not use the device near water and in wet locations such as near a pool, bathtub, kitchen sink, in a damp cellar, laundry room and so on. The device must not be exposed to dripping or splashing water, do not place containers filled with liquids on the device. • Do not expose the device to heat sources such as radiators, heating or other heat-producing appliances such as amplifiers. Do not expose it to direct sunlight or open flame. • Do not cover the ventilation or other openings or insert any objects into them. WARNING: To prevent possible hearing damage, avoid prolonged listening at high volume. Excessive sound pressure from earphones can cause hearing damage. • DANGER for children: Children may not play with the packaging material. Do not let children play with the plastic bags. Risk of suffocation. • Do not immerse in water! – Do not immerse in water!

SETUP

1. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the USB Type-C input and a USB source (not supplied) or open the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert 4 x AA batteries into the battery compartment. Observe the correct polarity of the batteries marked in the battery compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover.
4. Extend the telescopic antenna and adjust its orientation for optimal reception.

Notes:

• If the device is not used for long periods, remove the batteries to prevent battery leakage.
• Battery life: If the sound from the radio is weak or distorted, or when it is difficult to read display of the device, replace the batteries with new ones.
• The device does not have built-in batteries. If a USB cable is used, the unit will turn off when the cable is disconnected. It is also not possible to charge batteries located in the battery compartment using the USB cable.

WARNING:

• If you buy an adapter for a USB cable, the recommended technical parameters are:
• Input: 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, max. 0.3 A
  • Output: DC 5 V 1 A, 5,0 W

POWER ON/OFF

• Use the I/O button to turn on the device
• When turning off:
• brief press: the device remains in "Standby" mode (The display shows the date and time
• long press: the device turns off completely.

SETTING DATE AND TIME

If DAB + stations are tuned in, the time and date are set automatically. If the DAB + signal is not available, set the time manually.

1. Press the power button to start the system.
2. Hold down the MENU / INFO button for 3 seconds.
3. Select "System" using the ▲/▼ buttons.
4. Press the ENTER button to confirm the action.
5. Repeat steps 3-4 to make settings:
6. Select "Time" and confirm.
7. Select "Set. time / date." and confirm the time and date settings.
8. Use buttons ▲/▼ to set hours, minutes, date, month and year and confirm by pressing ENTER.

After entering the date and time, "Time saved" appears on the display.

In the "Set time/date" mode you can set other options using buttons ▲/▼: 12/24 time format (Switching the time format 12 h / 24 h), date format (Switching the date display DD-MM-YYYY / MM-DD-YYYY) and automatic time update from DAB/FM.

DAB+ MODE

1. Use the DAB / FM button to switch to DAB + mode.

The radio automatically searches for available DAB + stations. To quickly search for all DAB + stations, press and hold the SCAN button or use the advanced options in the MENU.

1. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to scroll through the list of tuned stations. Press the ENTER button to start the selected station.

FM MODE

1. Use the DAB / FM button to switch to FM mode. To quickly search for all FM stations, long press the SCAN button or use the advanced options in the MENU.
2. Use buttons ▲/▼ to fine tune the frequencies.
3. Hold down the buttons ▲/▼ to scroll through the available stations.

SAVE AND LISTEN TO STATIONS IN PRESETS

1. Hold down the PRESET button to save the station in presets.
2. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to select the preset number.
3. Press Enter to confirm; "Preset # saved" is displayed.
4. To listen to a saved station, press the Preset button.
5. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to scroll through the preset stations.
6. Press ENTER to confirm.

The display will show "Save Preset #:"

Quick save and listen to stations in presets 1 and 2

1. Hold down P1 or P2 to preset the station.
2. To listen to a station stored in presets 1 or 2, press P1 or P2.

USING AN ALARM CLOCK

1. Hold down the MENU / INFO button.
2. Select "System" using the ▲/▼ buttons.
3. Press ENTER to confirm.
4. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to select "Alarm" and confirm.
5. Select "Alarm 1" or "Alarm 2" and confirm the setting.
6. "Alarm 1 wizard" or "Alarm 2 wizard" is displayed to turn the alarm on/off.
7. When the alarm is switched (on), "Time on" is displayed. Using the buttons ▲/▼ buttons to set the hours, press ENTER to move to the minutes setting and press ENTER to confirm.

8. "Duration" is displayed, confirm the alarm duration in minutes.

9. "Sound" is displayed, confirm the alarm sound source: Tone (beeping), FM or DAB (radio).

10. In the next step, select the repetition: once only (no repetition), Weekdays, Weekends, Daily.
11. In the last step of the wizard, select the alarm volume and confirm with ENTER.
12. Now the alarm is set, "Alarm set" is displayed and an indicator in the form of a bell icon and the active alarm number appears on the home screen.

SNOOZE FUNCTION

After activating the alarm, during the ringing, you can press Snooze to cancel the alarm and move it by 9 minutes until you turn the alarm off with the ON / OFF button.

To permanently cancel the alarm, you need to change the alarm setting from On to Off mode. Follow steps 1-6 above. Change the setting to Off and confirm.

ADVANCED DAB + OPTIONS

1. Hold down the MENU/INFO button to select the information to be displayed on the screen. For example: signal strength, frequency, time and date.
2. Hold down the MENU/INFO button to enter the menu. Here you have the following options to choose from, which you can navigate between using the buttons ▲/▼: Complete Scan (Searches for DAB+ stations), Manual Tuning (Manually tunes DAB+ stations), DRC (Limits the volume difference between stations), Remove Invalid (Removes all stations with a weak signal), System (Changes system settings)

ADVANCED FM OPTIONS

1. Hold down the MENU/INFO button to select the information to be displayed on the screen.
2. Hold down the MENU/INFO button to enter the menu. Here you have the following options to choose from, which you can navigate between using the buttons ▲/▼: Scan Settings (All Stations/Strong Signal Stations Only), Audio Settings (Stereo On/Mono Only), System (Change System Settings)

CHANGE SYSTEM SETTINGS

1. Hold down the MENU / INFO button to enter the menu.

Select "System" and press Enter to confirm.

Press ▲/▼ to select: Auto Power Off (Automatically turns off the radio after the set time has elapsed), Time (Set the time, see above), Alarm (Manage alarms, see above), Default Power On Volume (Set the default volume), Aut. backlight (Sets the time after which the display backlight automatically turns off), Language (Sets the system language), Factory Defaults (Sets the unit to the default settings; CAUTION, this option clears all presets), Software Version (Displays the installed software version).

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning the device

Make sure the device is completely switched off before cleaning. Clean the surface of the device with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasive ingredients. Do not use cleaning sprays on or near the device.
