Frequently Asked Questions - KCM100 Koenic

How to prepare coffee with the Koenic KCM100?
Fill the water tank with cold water, place a paper filter in the basket, add ground coffee (about 7 g per cup), then press the start button. The machine will heat the water and brew the coffee automatically.
How to clean my Koenic KCM100 coffee maker?
After each use, let the machine cool down, remove the filter basket and carafe, wash them with warm soapy water. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Never immerse the base in water.
What to do if my machine does not turn on?
Check that the machine is plugged in and the power button is pressed. Ensure the water tank is properly in place. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
How often should I descale the machine?
It is recommended to descale the machine every 3 months or after 40 use cycles to prevent limescale buildup. Use a suitable descaling agent or diluted white vinegar.
Can I use reusable filters?
Yes, you can use a permanent filter if its dimensions match the filter basket (about 12 cm in diameter). Make sure it does not block water circulation.
How to set the automatic shut-off?
The automatic shut-off is usually preset at the factory (about 40 minutes after brewing ends). It can be disabled on some models by holding the power button for 5 seconds. Refer to the manual for more details.
Why does the coffee taste bitter?
Bitter coffee can be due to too fine a grind, too high a dose, water that is too hot, or a dirty machine. Try adjusting the grind, reducing the amount of coffee, or descaling the machine.
Is the glass carafe dishwasher safe?
Yes, the glass carafe can generally be washed in the dishwasher. However, the lid and base must be hand washed to avoid damaging electrical parts.
Can I heat milk with the machine?
No, the Koenic KCM100 is a classic filter coffee maker without a milk heating function. For café au lait, heat the milk separately.
Where to find spare parts for the KCM100?
Spare parts such as the water tank, filter basket, or carafe are available from Koenic customer service or on approved spare parts websites. Check compatibility with your model.
