How to use the SILVERCREST SHK 100 B2 heated mattress pad?

First, connect the control unit to the pad by plugging in the connectors. Then plug the device into a 220-240 V socket. Select the desired temperature level (1-6) with the rotary knob. For quick heating, use level 6, then reduce to level 3 for prolonged use. The device automatically turns off after 90 minutes.

How to clean the heated mattress pad?

Always unplug the device and separate the control unit from the pad. The removable cover and the heating pad can be machine washed at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Do not use bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron. The control unit must never be immersed; clean it with a dry cloth.

Does the mattress pad turn off automatically?

Yes, the SHK 100 B2 mattress pad has an automatic shut-off after approx. 90 minutes. The LED then shows 'A'. To turn it back on, set the selector to '0' for 5 seconds, then select the desired temperature again.

What temperature levels are available?

There are 6 levels: levels 1 and 2 for minimum heat, 3 and 4 for medium heat, 5 and 6 for maximum heat. Level 0 turns off the device.

Can I use this mattress pad with a pacemaker?

Consult your doctor and the pacemaker manufacturer before use. The electric and magnetic fields generated by the mattress pad are very low (max. 5000 V/m and 80 A/m), but may potentially interfere with some pacemakers.

What is the power consumption of the SHK 100 B2?

The normal power consumption is 25 W, with a maximum of 100 W during operation. This corresponds to low consumption, suitable for prolonged use.

Is the mattress pad machine washable?

Yes, the heating pad and removable cover can be machine washed at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Use a mild detergent without bleach. Do not tumble dry, do not iron. Machine washing is limited to a maximum of 10 times over the product's lifetime.

What to do if the mattress pad does not turn on?

First, check that the connectors between the control unit and the pad are properly plugged in. Ensure the wall socket works. If the LED does not light up after selecting a level, the safety system may have detected a fault: in this case, the mattress pad can no longer be used and must be returned to customer service.

Can I use the mattress pad for children?

This mattress pad must not be used by children under 3 years of age or by persons insensitive to heat (diabetics, etc.). Older children may only use it under adult supervision who has preset the temperature.

What is the warranty of the SILVERCREST SHK 100 B2?

The warranty is 3 years from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing defects. It does not apply in case of misuse, unauthorized repair, or normal wear. Keep your receipt.

- Introduction

Please familiarise yourself with the heating pad before getting started and using it for the first time. Please read the following

operating instructions and the important safety instructions carefully. Use the heating pad only as described and for the stated areas of use. Keep

these instructions in a safe place and always pass on all documents together with the heating pad.

- Proper use

This heating pad is designed to warm the human body. It allows you to apply heat to specific areas of the body. This heating pad is not intended for use in hospitals or for commercial use. In particular it must not be used for babies or infants, persons who are

insensitive to heat, helpless persons, or animals. Any use other than that described above or modification of the heating pad are not permissible and may lead to injury and/or damage to the heating pad. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage arising out of improper use. The heating pad is not intended for commercial use.

Do not use the heating pad if it is damp.

Do not misuse the mains cable to carry or hang up the heating pad or to pull the plug out of the socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, and sharp edges. If the mains cable is damaged or severed, do not touch it, and remove the mains plug immediately. Damaged or tangled cables increase the risk of an electric shock.

FOR INDOOR USE ONLY!

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!

Do not stick needles or sharp objects into the heating pad.

If you use a cardiac pacemaker, please consult your doctor and the manufacturer of the pacemaker before using this heating pad. The electric and magnetic fields generated by this electric heating pad may under certain circumstances interfere with the operation of cardiac pacemakers. However, the levels are far below the permissible limits: details of these levels can be found in the "Technical data" chapter.

WARNING! RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

AND INJURY! Before every use, check the heating pad carefully for signs of wear and/or damage. Do not use it if you see wear and tear or damage or if the machine has been used incorrectly. In this case, return it to the dealer before using it again.

Children or anyone lacking the knowledge or experience to use the heating pad, or anyone with restricted physical, sensory or mental capacities, must not use the heating pad without supervision or instruction by a person responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the heating pad.

RISK OF INJURY! Do not use this heating pad for helpless persons, infants or persons who are insensitive

to heat (e.g. diabetics, people with disease-related changes to the skin or scarred skin in the area of use, or after taking pain-relieving medication or consuming alcohol).

100 as proven in tests at the TESTEX Research Institute.

RISK OF BURNS! This heating pad must not be used by children unless the control 1 has been pre-

set by a parent or other responsible person, or unless the child has been instructed sufficiently in how to use this heating pad safely.

CAUTION! Take care that you do not fall asleep while the heating pad is in operation. Excessively long

use can cause skin burns.

Do not use the heating pad on any part of the body that is inflamed, injured or swollen. Seek medical advice before using the heating pad if in doubt. Such inflammation, injuries and/or swelling may otherwise worsen.

■ Repairs must only be carried out by specially trained personnel or at a repair shop authorised by the manufacturer, since special tools are

necessary. Improper repairs may result in considerable dangers for the user.

If the mains lead of the device is damaged, in order to avoid causing further danger it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a manufacturer-approved repair centre or a suitably qualified person.

AVOID DAMAGE TO THE HEATING PAD!

■ Please make sure that you:

• only connect the heating pad to the voltage indicated on the heating pad (label),
• only use the heating pad in conjunction with the control 1 indicated on the heating pad (label),
  do not switch the heating pad on if it is folded or bunched up,
• do not cause any sharp creases in the heating pad,
• do not place any objects, e.g. suitcase or washing basket, on the heating pad when it is switched on,
• do not place any sources of heat, e.g. hot water bottle or similar, on the heating pad when it is switched on.

These may all damage the heating pad.

Do not cover the control 1 and do not place it on the heating pad when the pad is in operation. The electronic components in the control 1 of the heating pad cause the control 1 to heat up slightly during operation.

● Safety system

NOTE: the heating pad is equipped with a safety system. The electronic sensor technology prevents the entire surface of the heating pad from overheating by automatically switching off in the event of a fault. If the safety system switches the heating pad off automatically as a result of a fault, the temperature display on the control 1 will no longer be illuminated when the heating pad is switched on.

☐ Please note that, for safety reasons, the heating pad must not be used after a fault and must be returned to the service address indicated.

Operation

NOTE: the heating pad may smell of plastic the first time you use it, but this will disappear after a short period of time.

- Switching on / off / Selecting the temperature

☐ To use the device, first connect the control unit 1 to the heating pad by plugging the plug-in connector 2 and the plug for the control unit 3 together (see Fig. B).

Switching on:

☐ Set the control unit 1 to a setting 1-6 to switch on the heating pad.

Switching off:

☐ Set Level 0 on the control 1 to switch the heating pad off.

Selecting the temperature:

☐ Set the highest temperature level (Level 6) shortly before use. This heats the pad fastest.
☐ If you are going to use the device for a number of hours, set it to the middle temperature setting (setting 3).

● Temperature levels

☐ Set the required temperature level on the control 1 (see Fig. A).

Setting 0: off Settings 1+2: minimum heat Settings 3+4: medium heat Settings 5+6: maximum heat

● Automatic switch-off

NOTE: The heating pad switches itself off automatically after about 90 minutes. The LED indicator on the control unit 1 shows "A".

☐ First select position "0" and after approx. 5 seconds select the required temperature level to switch the heating pad back on.
☐ Switch the heating pad off (Level "O") or take the mains plug out of the socket if you do not wish to use the heating pad after automatic switch-off.

- Cleaning and care

☐ Use the heating pad with the textile cover to prevent soiling or damage to the heating pad (particularly if using essential oils and creams).

WARNING! RISK TO LIFE FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK! Before cleaning the heating pad, always

pull the mains plug out of the mains socket and separate the plug-in connector 2 from the plug for the control unit 3 (see Fig. B).

DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Do not reconnect the control 1 to the heating pad until the

plug-in connector 2 and the heating pad are completely dry. There is otherwise a risk of an electric shock.

DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! DANGER OF MATERIAL DAMAGE! Do not under any

circumstances switch the heating pad on to dry help it dry.

Do not use chemical cleaners or scouring agents to clean the heating pad or the control unit 1. Otherwise the heating pad could be damaged.

■ Never immerse the control unit 1 in water or other liquids. Otherwise you might damage it.

Do not hang the heating pad up to dry with pegs or similar. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.

☐ Use a dry, fluff-free cloth to clean and care for the heating pad and the control unit 1.

☐ To remove stubborn dirt from the heating pad, you can dampen the cloth or moisten it with a little mild liquid detergent.

☐ First open the zip fastener on the textile cover and take out the heating pad.

□ Clean the textile cover in accordance with the cleaning symbols on the label:

The heating pad and removable cover are machine washable. Set the washing machine on a gentle

30 °C washing program.

Do not bleach. Do not use detergents containing bleach (such as full temperature range washing powders or

liquids).

Do not dry the heating pad or the removable cover in the tumble dryer.

Do not iron the heating pad or the removable cover.

Do not clean with chemicals/dry clean.

☐ Take care when replacing the heating pad in the textile cover that the cable exits at the end of the zip. It will not otherwise be possible to close the zip.
For ecological reasons, please only wash the heating pad together with other textiles. Use a mild laundry detergent according to the manufacturer's instructions.
☐ Please note that frequent washing will cause wear to the heating pad. It should therefore be washed no more than max. 10 times in a washing machine throughout its useful life.
☐ Please note that the heating pad may not be dry cleaned, bleached, wrung out, dried mechanically, mangled or ironed.

Storage

- Allow the heating pad to cool down before storage, otherwise material damage may occur.

☐ If you do not intend to use the heating pad for any length of time, store it in the original packaging in a dry environment and without weighing it down.

- Warranty

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our Service Department. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.

The warranty covers only claims for material and manufacturing defects, but not for transport damage, for wearing parts or for damage to fragile components, e.g. buttons or batteries. This product is for private use only and is not intended for commercial use.

The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampering not carried out by our authorized service branch. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.

The warranty period will not be extended by repairs made unter warranty. This applies also to replaced and repaired parts. Any damage and defects extant on purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking the appliance, at the latest, two days after the purchase date. Repairs made after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to payment.
