Display
If the appliance is on, the display will light up to show the actual status in six different sections (see next pages). During operation, the display will be deactivated after a while (Energy saving mode) until the programme selector is turned.
Programme selector
By turning the knob, one of 16 programmes can be selected; the related LED will light up and its default settings will be displayed.
Press this button gently to start or interrupt the currently displayed programme. During operation, its symbol is shining, or if interrupted, blinking.
Press this button gently to switch on; the display is shining. Press again for about 2 seconds to switch off. If no panel element or programme is activated after a while, the machine will shut down automatically.
To get the best results in each programme, Haier has well-defined specific default settings. If there is no special requirement, the default settings are recommended. According to these factory settings, many programme parameters and additional functions can be individually changed (see "programmes" and "function" buttons).

Touch it to select sequentially the required functions and settings. The related symbol will shine.
Touch it to confirm the current chosen "Function", its symbol is blinking. Additionally, a "checkmark", a "1"/"2"/"3" symbol, or one of the stain symbols will light up. The function will be activated after 3 seconds or if button a ("Function") is touched.
This option blocks all panel elements against activation. After starting, press simultaneously "Function" + "Selection" for about 3 seconds. The panel lock symbol is now displayed. Next repetition deblocks any function.

Touch it to deactivate or activate "Smart Dosing" for liquid detergent. If the default setting liquid detergent (see "Smart Dosing") is deactivated, detergent drawer compartment 2 is to be used for all kinds of washing agent.
Touch it to deactivate or activate an additional dosage of softener (see "Smart Dosing").
"Smart Dosing" is the default setting. This means that, depending on the programme, laundry load, and water hardness, there will be an optimal automatic dosage of liquid detergent and softener using related compartments 1 (1.3 l) and 3 (0.5 l) of the detergent drawer. If activated, the corresponding symbols will light up. This function achieves optimal results, saves washing agent, and protects our environment. A charge lasts for up to 20 programme cycles. If a reservoir is empty, the related symbol will blink.
Touch it to light up the related symbol and display the present programme end time. According to all programme settings, the start of the wash cycle will be delayed.
End time delay could be increased by turning the programme selector in steps of 30 minutes from 0.5 to 24 hours. For example, a display of "6:30" means the end of the programme cycle will be in 6 hours and 30 minutes.
This is not applicable to the "Spin/Drain" programme.
Note: The end time must always be longer than the programme cycle time. Otherwise, the operation will start immediately, even though the chosen end time could not be reached.

Touch it to adjust the maximum water temperature.
Note: A display of "--" means "no operational heating".
Touch it to adjust the spin speed.
The memory function is available in the "Cotton" (M1), "Synthetic" (M2), and "Mix" (M3) programmes. After selecting individual options and related values, touch the "Memo" button until the display shows the corresponding "M1"/"M2"/"M3". Start the programme; the memory is now activated for the chosen programme. When that programme is selected next time, press the "Memo" button to activate the memorized settings and be ready to start immediately.

To cancel any current setting, change the programme or press "On/Off" for about 3 seconds. To cancel a running programme, touch "Start/Pause" and then "On/Off" for about 3 seconds.

Standard programme for the Energy Labelling according to 2010/30EU:
Cotton 60°C / 40°C with max. spin speed setting and activated intensive function (level 3) without "smart dosing".
The standard 60°C and 40°C cotton programmes are suitable to clean normally soiled cotton laundry. They are the most efficient programmes in terms of combined energy and water consumption for cotton laundry. Used water temperature may differ from declared cycle temperature.
Daily use
This appliance is only for domestic use inside the house. If it is used for commercial, industrial or not intended purposes any Haier guarantee will not be valid anymore.
Consider anytime instructions of each garment label and wash only machine-washable laundry.
Power supply
Connect the washing machine to the power supply (220V to 240V~/50Hz).

Water connection
Turn on the tap. The water must be clean and clear.

Warning!

Before use, turn tap on and check for any leakage.
Preparing laundry
Sort out clothes according to fabric (cotton, synthetics, wool or silk) and to how dirty they are.
Separate white clothes from coloured ones. Wash coloured textiles first by hand to check if they fade or run.
Garments without hems, delicates and finely woven textile such as fine curtains are to be put into a wash bag to care for this delicate laundry (hand or dry cleaning would be better). Close zippers and hooks, make sure the buttons are sewn on tightly and place small items such as socks, belts, bras, etc. in a wash bag.
Unfold large pieces of fabric such as bed sheets, bedspreads etc. Turn clothes inside out. Empty pockets (keys, coins, etc.) and remove harder decorative objects (e.g. brooches).

Warning!

Non-textile, as well as small, loose or sharp-edged items may cause malfunctions and damage of clothes and appliance.

Loading the appliance
Open the door and put in the laundry piece by piece. Don't overload. Check if you can put a hand upright on top of load. Close the door carefully.

After each installation or longer down time run at first programme "Self Clean" with no load and added detergent in washing agent compartment (2) to remove possibly corruptive residues.

Selecting detergent
Washing efficiency and performance are determined by the quality of the detergent used. Use only machine-wash-approved detergent and, if needed, specific detergents, e.g., for synthetic and woolen fabrics. Always follow the detergent manufacturer's recommendations.

Remove detergent residues before the next wash cycle. Follow the detergent dosage recommendation given on the detergent package.

Adding detergent - "Smart Dosing"
Slide out the detergent drawer and put the required washing agents into the corresponding compartments.
Important information: "Smart Dosing" is the default setting. According to the programme, load, and water hardness, an optimal dosage of washing agent will be automatically applied using reservoirs for liquid detergent (1.3 L) and softener (0.5 L). To fill up, open the related flap of the detergent drawer and add a non-concentrated product until the "MAX limit line" is reached. At last, push the drawer back gently.
Select a programme
To get the best washing results, select a programme that fits the degree of soiling and the type of laundry. Turn the programme knob to select the right programme.

Select options
Select the required options (refer to "Control Panel").

Start wash programme
Touch the "Start/Pause" button to start. The appliance operates according to the present settings. Changes are only possible by cancelling the wash programme. At the end of the programme cycle, "End" is displayed, and afterwards the machine will shut off automatically.

Interrupt - cancel wash programme
To interrupt a running programme, press the "Start/Pause" button gently. Press it again to resume operation.
To cancel a running programme and all its individual settings, activate "Start/Pause" and then press "On/Off" for about 3 seconds.

Choose programme settings carefully, referring to the icons on each laundry label and the "Care chart".
Removing laundry promptly at cycle end will be gentle and minimize wrinkling.
After washing
Turn off the water supply and unplug the power cord. Open the door to prevent formation of moisture and odours. Leave it open while not in use.

Troubleshooting
In case of power failure
The current programme and its settings will be saved only for a short time. Probably a new programme cycle start is needed.
If a power failure cuts an operating wash programme, the door opening is mechanically blocked. To get out any laundry, the water level should not be visible in the glass porthole of the door - danger of burns!
The water level has to be lowered as described in "Pump filter". Only then pull the lever beneath the service flap until the door is unlocked with a gentle click. Afterwards, reassemble all parts.

Inlet hose - Aqua Control System
The Aqua Stop inlet hose is an important element for safety and overall control. Its valves control the water supply and will interrupt it if the hose is leaking.
1. Connect the nut on the inlet hose to the connector on the water valve. 2. Apply the inlet hose to a water tap.

Warning!

The appliance is only qualified for cold water supply! Use the hose-set supplied with the appliance. Old hose-sets should not be reused.
Drain hose
Drainage can be installed in different ways. Nevertheless, the level of the drain hose must reach at one point 80-100 cm. If possible, always keep the drain hose fixed to the clip at the back of the appliance.

1. Drain hose to sink
Use the drain hose bracket to keep the drain hose end retained and out of any water level.
Fix the bracket sufficiently to avoid dropping down due to operational movements.

2. Drain hose to sink siphon
The connection has to be securely sealed and fixed to the corresponding adapter above the siphoning part!
3. Drain hose to sewage pipe
Use the drain hose bracket to keep the drain hose end retained. Fix the bracket sufficiently to avoid dropping down due to operational movements.

Warning!

The drain hose should not be submerged in water and should be securely fixed and leak-free. If the drain hose is placed on the ground or if the pipe is at a height of less than 80 cm, the washing machine will continuously drain while being filled (self-siphoning). The drain hose is not to be extended. If necessary, contact after-sales service.

Power supply connection
Before each connection, check if:
- The socket is adequate for the maximum power of the appliance (the safety power circuit fuse should be rated not less than 15A).
- The voltage should meet the requirement.
- The power outlet should be appropriate for the appliance plug.
- The used power socket has to be earthed.
Note - only UK: The fuse in a UK 13A plug must comply with BS1362 standard.

Touch this button to activate or deactivate the "Smart Dosing" mode when using liquid detergent. If the liquid detergent mode (see section "Smart Dosing") is activated (by default it is activated), compartment 2 is used for loading detergent of any type.
"Fabric softener compartment" (button d)
Touch this button to deactivate or activate the additional dose of fabric softener (see section "Smart Dosing").
"Smart Dosing" (button c or button d)
By default, the "Smart Dosing" mode is on. If this mode is active, then depending on the program, laundry load, and water hardness, automatic dosing of liquid detergent and fabric softener is performed respectively from compartments 1 (1.3 l) and 3 (0.5 l) of the detergent container. When this mode is active, the corresponding symbols are displayed on the display. This function allows you to get optimal results, and also ensures economy of detergent and increased environmental friendliness. One load is enough for several programs (up to 20). If the reservoir is empty, the corresponding symbol appears on the display.
"Delayed start" - delay of the end of washing (button e)
The icons in this book correspond to the symbols on the control panel and display the end time and current program. The start of the wash cycle is delayed depending on the program settings.
The end time of the wash cycle is set by turning the program selector knob to 30 minutes (0.5-24 hours). For example, the indication "6:30" means that the wash will be completed in 6.30 minutes.
It is not possible to use this mode for the "Soak/Wash" program.
Note: The end time of the wash must always be later than the program duration. Otherwise, the process starts immediately, despite the fact that the required end time cannot be ensured.
"Spin Speed" (button g)
Touch this button to adjust the spin speed.
"Memory" (button h)
The memory function is available for the programs "Cotton" (M1), "Synthetics" (M2), "Mixed Fabrics" (M3). After selecting the required parameters and values, touch the "Memory" button several times until the desired indicator "M1"/"M2"/"M3" appears. Start the program; the parameters set for that program will be saved in the corresponding memory. Subsequently, when selecting this program, you can press the "Memory" button to activate the saved settings and start immediately.

Cleaning container for care products
Empty the residual milk container. Pull the container by the handle (1) and remove it by pressing the release button (2). After emptying all residues, insert it back into the machine.

Machine faults
Before cleaning and maintenance, disconnect the power cable. Use a soft cloth and soapy water to clean the machine body and rubber parts. Do not use organic solvents or aggressive solutions.

- It does not drain water, the drum does not turn, it makes an unusual noise during operation.
Warning!

Danger of scalding! The water in the pump may be very hot! Before performing any actions, make sure the water has cooled down.
- Switch off the machine and disconnect it from the power supply.
- Open the service flap. It can be opened with a coin or a screwdriver. Place a flat container under it to collect residual water. It may be dirty!
- Pull out the drain hose and hold its end over the container.
- Remove the plug from the drain hose.
- After the water has drained completely, unscrew and remove the pump filter, turning it counterclockwise.
- Remove foreign objects and dirt.
- Clean the pump filter thoroughly, for example under running water.
- Install the filter back.
- Close the drain hose and insert it back into the machine. 11. Close the service flap.

Attention!

The pump cover must be clean and undamaged.
If it is not properly closed, water may leak.
Water inlet valve and water inlet filter
To avoid blockage of the water inlet by foreign particles, it is necessary to regularly clean the water inlet filter.

Idle period
If the machine is not used for a long time, unplug the power cord (1) and close the water tap (2). Open the door to prevent the formation of odors and smells. During the idle period, leave the door open.
Before the next use, carefully check the hoses, water supply lines, and drain hose. Make sure they are correctly installed and have no leaks.

Attention!

The float switch for overflow protection is located in the deepest part of the machine. In case of leakage, all functions are automatically switched off, except for the drain pump, which remains on for safety reasons.
In case of power failure
The current program and its settings are saved only for a short time. It may be necessary to reselect the program and its settings.
If the power is disconnected during operation, the program door is mechanically locked. The door can only be opened when the water level is no longer visible - to prevent burns!
The water level must be lowered using the method described in the "Pump filter" section. After that, you can pull the emergency release lever, and the door will open with a gentle click. Then all components must be reinstalled.
