How do I set the temperature on my ECG AC 20 cooler?

Press the SET button to enter temperature adjustment mode. Use the + and - buttons to set the desired temperature (range -20°C to +10°C). The display will blink during adjustment and confirm after a few seconds.

Can I use the cooler both for cooling and heating?

Yes, the ECG AC 20 supports both functions. Press the MODE button to switch between COOL and HEAT. The display will show the active mode.

What power sources can I use?

You can power the cooler using a 12V DC car cigarette lighter socket or a 230V AC household outlet. An appropriate adapter cable is included.

How do I clean the interior of the cooler?

Unplug the device and remove all contents. Wipe the interior with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.

Why is my cooler not cooling properly?

Check that the ventilation openings are not blocked, the power supply is adequate (battery voltage above 10.5V for DC), and the temperature setting is lower than the ambient temperature. Also ensure the lid is properly closed.

Can I leave the cooler running all night in the car?

Yes, but ensure your car battery is sufficiently charged to avoid draining it. The cooler has low voltage protection that automatically shuts off if voltage drops below 10.5V to protect the battery.

How do I replace the fuse?

Disconnect the power. Locate the fuse holder in the DC power cord. Open it and replace the blown fuse with a 5A 32V fuse (same type). Never use a higher rating.

What should I do if the display shows an error code?

If the display shows E1 or E2, it indicates a sensor failure. Try resetting by unplugging for 10 minutes. If the error persists, contact ECG service for replacement of the thermistor.

Is the cooler suitable for storing medicine?

The cooler can maintain temperatures between -20°C and +10°C, which is suitable for many medicines. However, always verify the required storage temperature of your medication and use an external thermometer for accuracy.

Where can I find spare parts for my ECG AC 20?

Spare parts such as power cords, fuses, and fan units can be ordered directly from ECG customer service or authorized retailers. Provide your model number (ECG AC 20) when ordering.

Warning: The safety measures and instructions, contained in this manual, do not include all conditions and situations possible. The user must understand that common sense, caution and care are factors that cannot be integrated into any product. Therefore, these factors shall be ensured by the user/s using and operating this appliance. We are not responsible for damage caused during transportation, by improper use, voltage fluctuation or by changing or modifying any part of the appliance.

To protect against a risk of fire or electric shock, basic precautions shall be taken while using electrical appliances, including the following:

1. Make sure the voltage in your outlet corresponds to the voltage provided on the appliance label and that the socket is properly grounded. The outlet must be installed according to valid safety instructions.

Connect the device only as follows:

- Plug the power cord of the voltage changer ECG MP 2030 into a power outlet with the same voltage (ECG MP 2030 is not included).

- Connect the power cable 12 V DC to the outlet with matching voltage and shape.

On boats: If the device is plugged in, make sure that the power source has a circuit breaker. Danger of injury!

1. Do not use the car cool box if one of the cables is damaged. All repairs including cord replacements shall be performed by a professional service centre! Do not remove electric covers of the appliance, there is risk of electric shock!
2. Avoid potential electric shock by protecting the appliance against direct contact with water and other liquids, and also by not placing any containers with liquids on the appliance. Do not immerse into water.
3. Before using the device, make sure the power cord and plug are dry. Do not touch the cord or device with wet hands. Risk of electric shock!
4. The device is suitable for indoor use and temporary outdoor use, but it must be always kept dry and plugged to an indoor power source.
5. Keep the 12 V DC outlet (cigarette lighter) where you would insert the plug clean and free of cigarette ash. Do not use metal or other conductive material when cleaning the outlet.
6. It is important to check the state of the battery in cars that allow powering a device from 12 V DC outlet without the motor running, to prevent complete loss of battery power.
7. Do not allow children to play with the car cool box. It is not a toy! Pay extra attention if you use the car cool box near children.
8. Do not use the car cool box close to open fire or other sources of heat (heating, direct sunlight, etc.). Risk of overheating!
9. If you feel the device is not functioning properly, unplug it immediately from the power source and visit a service centre with the appliance.
10. Never connect the car cool box with both cables in the same time! Always select only one source of power! (in case that you bought also the voltage changer 2030).
11. We recommend that you do not leave the plugged-in car cool box unattended. Disconnect the cord from the electrical outlet prior to performing maintenance. Do not pull the cord from yanking the cable. Unplug the cable from the outlet by grasping the plug.
12. Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces or lead the cord over sharp edges.
13. Do not turn the device on or off by plugging or unplugging the power cord.
14. Keep the car cool box sufficient distance from the walls and other objects to ensure proper air circulation. Never block the air vents of the car cool box and do not insert any objects into them. Do not step on the car cool box and do not place anything on top.

15. Do not use the car cool box to transport corrosive substances or solvents. Store food in original packaging only or in suitable containers. Do not fill the interior of the car cool box with ice and do not pour liquids in it.

16. Only use accessories approved by the manufacturer. Do not use any electronic devices inside the car cool box unless recommended by the manufacturer.

17. Use the car cool box as recommended by the instructions in this manual. This car cool box is designed for home use only. The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by the improper use of this appliance.
18. The appliance may be used by children 8 years or older and by persons with reduced physical or mental capabilities, if they are under supervision or if they have been instructed in the use of the appliance in a safe manner and understand the potential risks. Children must not play with the appliance. Children must not carry our cleaning and maintenance of the appliance, unless they are 8 years or older and under supervision. Children younger than 8 years have to be kept away from the appliance and its power supply.

DESCRIPTION

Car cool box is suitable for keeping already cooled foods and beverages (it is not a refrigerator, freezer). The car cool box is also equipped with a heating function for your convenience (keeps food warm or warms it up). Select the setting with the switch for switching the cooling/heating functions.

The car cool box is portable, you can use it e. g. for camping, fishing and it can be also used as storage for dishes (cups, etc.). The device must not be exposed to rain!

The device is designed for connection to 12V DC outlet in the car (cigarette lighter), in a boat or in a caravan, as well as for connection to the main power grid of 230 V (in case you are using ECG MP 2030, which may be purchased).

It can cool food by up to 18^ C under the surrounding temperature or it keeps it cool. If you select the heating function, your food and drink will warm up to max. 65^ C or they will be kept warm.

Attention: If you wish to keep medication cold, make sure that the cooling power of the equipment is suitable for the medication.

The cooling system of this device is inexhaustible, based on the Pelletier's effect.

Since during the cooling the humid air inside the car cool box condenses, you can find drops of water on the inside of the box in case of long-term cooling. It is a normal phenomenon, wipe the condensation with dry cloth if necessary.

USING THE APPLIANCE

For hygienic reasons, wipe the inside space of the car cool box with a sponge slightly moistened with a mild solution of dish detergent before first use. Then wipe the space with a sponge moistened with clean water and dry it.

When the handle is pushed back, the lid is closed and cannot be opened. Do not try to force the lid. The lid may be opened when the handle points toward the front.

Attention: Always lift the car cool box by the handle. Risk of tipping over!

1. Place the car cool box on a flat surface, which ensures enough free space for proper functioning of the air vents.

2. Make sure that the food and drinks placed in the car cool box are suitable for cooling at that temperature and let them cool sufficiently before placing them in the device. We recommend that you pre-cool the car cool box for at least 4 hours to keep the food cooled to the required temperature for as long as possible.

3. Plug the power cable into the cigarette lighter outlet or into the 12V DC outlet in the car or use the voltage changer ECG MP 2030 to plug it into the regular voltage outlet (not included).

4. Close the lid of the car cool box and secure it by turning the handle backwards.

5. Turn the switch on the control panel to the position COLD (cooling) or HOT (heating). According to the selected mode, green light (cooling) or red light (heating) turns on.

In the heating mode, the fan automatically turns on or off and thus regulates the temperature.

Attention: Before switching the car cool box from the cooling mode to heating mode and vice versa, the car cool box must be switched OFF for at least 5 minutes!

1. The car cool box starts cooling/heating.

2. By turning the switch into the position OFF you will switch off the cooling/heating. If you are finished with using the device, unplug the cable from the cigarette lighter in the carr or from the regular outlet (if you are using voltage changer ECG MP 2030).

Attention: If you plug the cable in the cigarette lighter in the car, the ignition must be on to supply the power to the car cool box.

Power saving tips

Choose a well ventilated place that is protected against direct sunlight.

Do not open the lid more often than necessary.

Clean the insulation on the inside of the lid regularly.

Always unplug the power cable from the cigarette lighter or an outlet before any cleaning or maintenance! Wipe the inside/outside of the car cool box with a sponge slightly moistened in a weak solution of dish detergent. Then wipe the inside/outside with a sponge soaked in water and dry.

Do not use abrasive sponges or cleaning powders. Do not wash the car cool box under running water and do not immerse it in water!

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible cause Solution
The car cool box is not functioning.	There is no power in the 12V DC outlet (cigarette lighter) of the car.	In most types of cars the ignition must be switched on to have power in the cigarette lighter.
	There is no power in the outlet where you plugged the car cool box (in case that you used the adapter ECG MP 2030).	Try to plug the car cool box into another outlet.
The car cool box is not cooling (it is plugged in and the control light is on).	The inside fan or the car cool box is damaged.	This defect must be repaired by an authorized service center.
Car cool box does not warm up (it is on, the control light is on).	The inside fan or the heatsink is broken.	This defect must be repaired only by an authorized service center.
The connection to the 12V DC outlet (cigarette lighter): The car cool box receives power, but is not functioning. Unplug it from the outlet and take following steps.	The cigarette lighter is covered by cigarette ash, which is the cause of insufficient power.	If the 12V DC plug of the car cool box overheats when plugged in the cigarette lighter outlet, either the cigarette lighter must be cleaned, or the 12V DC plug was incorrectly installed.
	The fuse of the 12V DC plug burned out.	Change fuse (5A) in the 12V DC plug.
	The car fuse burned out.	Change the fuse in the car outlet (usually 15 A). (Please, follow the instructions in your car manual.)
