Frequently Asked Questions - AC 28 ECG

Can I use the ECG AC 28 cooler to keep food cold during a road trip?
Yes, the AC 28 is designed for portable use in vehicles. Connect it to the 12V car adapter and it will cool your food and drinks up to 20°C below ambient temperature. Ensure the cooler is placed upright with ventilation slots uncovered.
How long does it take to cool items to the desired temperature?
Cooling time depends on the initial temperature and load. Typically, the thermoelectric cooler reaches its maximum cooling difference in about 30-60 minutes. Pre-chilling items can help.
Can I switch between cooling and heating modes?
Yes, the AC 28 has a switch that lets you choose between cool and warm settings. In warm mode, it can heat up to +65°C, ideal for keeping food warm. Make sure to turn off and unplug before switching modes.
What power sources can I use?
You can use either a 12V DC car socket (cigarette lighter) with the included adapter or a 230V AC wall outlet with the provided mains adapter. Do not use both simultaneously.
Is the cooler fully waterproof?
No, the ECG AC 28 is not waterproof. It has an IPX0 rating. Avoid exposing it to rain or splashes. For cleaning, use a damp cloth only, never immerse in water.
How do I clean the cooler properly?
Wipe the interior and exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent if needed. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Dry thoroughly before storing.
Why is my cooler not as cold as expected?
Check that the ventilation slots are not blocked, the power supply is stable, and the cooler is not overfilled. Thermoelectric coolers work best in well-ventilated areas and with moderate ambient temperatures. If problems persist, contact ECG support.
Can I leave the cooler running overnight?
Yes, it is safe to leave the AC 28 connected to a power source for extended periods. However, ensure the cooler is on a stable surface and the ventilation is adequate. When used in a car, ensure the battery is not drained.
What is the warranty period?
ECG typically offers a 2-year warranty on the AC 28 cooler against manufacturing defects. Keep your purchase receipt and register the product on the ECG website for support.
Where can I find spare parts?
Spare parts such as the 12V adapter, mains adapter, and internal fan can be ordered from authorized ECG service centers. Visit the ECG website and enter your model AC 28 to locate a service partner.

Travel cooler is suitable for keeping steady the temperature of already cooled food and beverages.

The travel cooler is appropriate for mobile use, e.g. for camping and can also be used as storage space for cookware (cups, etc.). The appliance must not be exposed to rain!

The device is designed for connection to a 12 V car power socket (cigarette lighter), and on a boat or in a caravan in the same way as for connection to the mains socket outlet.

The temperature inside the cooler may be up to 15^ C below the ambient temperature.

Note: If you wish to keep medication cold, make certain that the cooling capacity is suitable for that particular medication.

The cooling mechanism of this appliance is inexhaustible on the basis of the thermoelectric effect.

Because during cooling the humidity inside the travel cooler condensates, in the case of longer cooling periods, water drops may form on the internal sides of the bag. This is a normal effect, if necessary wipe the condensation away using a dry wipe.

The pockets located on the outer sides of the travel cooler serve as storage space. The items stored here are not cooled. You can also use the zip pocket for storing the 12 V power cord.

If the bag is empty, you can fold it up and pin together using the press fasteners to save space.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

For hygiene reasons, before use, wipe the inside area of the travel cooler with a sponge lightly dipped in a weak solution of kitchen detergent. Following this wipe the inside area using a sponge dipped in clean water and wipe dry.

  1. Place the travel cooler on an even surface, which guarantees a sufficient amount of free space for the correct function of the ventilation openings.
  2. Make sure that the foods and drinks inside the travel cooler are appropriate for cooling at the given temperature.
  3. Connect the 12 V power cord to the power socket of the cigarette lighter or the 12 V socket in the car, or the 100-240 V adapter into the power grid socket.
  4. The travel cooler will start to cool.
  5. Turn off the travel cooler by pulling the power plug from the power socket.

Note: If you connect the travel cooler to a cigarette lighter in the car, the ignition must be on for the travel cooler to be powered by energy.

Energy saving tips

Choose a well ventilated area, that is protected from direct sunlight.

If you wish to keep foods cool, allow them to cool down sufficiently before placing them in the appliance.

Do not open the travel cooler more often than is necessary.

Open the travel cooler only for the shortest possible time.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning or maintenance of the appliance always pull the power plug out of the power socket or cigarette lighter!

Wipe the inside/outside areas of the travel cooler with a sponge lightly dipped in a weak solution of kitchen detergent. Following this wipe the inside/outside area using a sponge dipped in clean water and wipe dry. Do not use abrasive sponges or cleaning powders. Never clean the travel cooler under running water, do not rinse and do not submerge in water!
