Frequently Asked Questions - SWEW 750 B2 SILVERCREST

How do I change the interchangeable plates?
Unplug the device and let it cool. Open the device lock, slide the release button to remove the upper plate, then lift the lower plate. To insert, place the lower plate with the large catches at the back, press down until the small catches lock. Insert the upper plate similarly. Never combine different plate types.
What types of waffles can I make with this machine?
You can make Belgian-style waffles (using plates 7a), waffle nuts (plates 7b/7c), and shaped waffles (plates 7d/7e). Each set is interchangeable.
How do I clean the waffle maker?
Unplug and let cool. Remove the plates and wash them in warm water with mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Wipe the outer surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water. The plates are not dishwasher safe.
Why does the green control lamp not light up?
Ensure the mains plug is properly inserted and the device is turned on. The green lamp indicates the selected temperature has been reached. If it still doesn't light, check the power supply or contact service.
Can I use metal utensils on the plates?
No, metal utensils can damage the non-stick coating. Use only wood or heat-resistant plastic utensils to remove waffles.
What should I do before first use?
Clean the plates and outer surfaces. Lightly grease each set of plates with cooking oil. Heat the empty device for about 10 minutes until the green lamp lights. Let it cool, then clean again. This removes manufacturing residues.
My waffles are too dark or too light. How can I adjust?
The baking time controls doneness. For darker waffles, increase time; for lighter, reduce time. The typical time is about 5 minutes. Adjust based on batter and preference.
Is the waffle maker safe for children to use?
Children aged 8 and above can use it under supervision. Younger children must be kept away. The device gets very hot; only touch handles and controls during operation.
What kind of batter is recommended for waffle nuts?
Recipes in the manual include a basic batter (butter, sugar, eggs, flour, water) and a sweet batter (with sour cream). For savoury fillings, use the salty batter. Fill each depression with about 1/2 teaspoon of batter.
What should I do if the device malfunctions?
First check the power cord and plug. If the problem persists, do not attempt self-repair. Contact the service centre (UK: 0871 5000 720, Ireland: 1890 930 034) with the IAN number 102825 and proof of purchase.

Warranty conditions

The warranty period starts with the purchase date. Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. This document is required to verify the purchase.

If within three years from the purchase date of this product a material or factory defect occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced by us – at our discretion – free of charge to you. This warranty implies that within the period of three years the defective device and the purchase receipt are presented, including a brief written description of the defect and the time it occurred.

If the defect is covered by our warranty, the repaired or a new product will be returned to you. No new warranty period starts with a repair or replacement of the product.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects

The warranty period is not extended when the warranty has been claimed. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damages and defects already existing at the time of purchase must be reported immediately upon unpacking. Repairs arising after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to a charge.

Warranty coverage

The device was produced carefully according to strict quality guidelines and tested diligently prior to delivery.

The warranty applies to material or factory defects. This warranty does not include product parts that are subject to standard wear and therefore can be considered wear parts; the same applies to damages at fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or parts made of glass.

This warranty expires if the product is damaged, not used as intended or not serviced. For the proper operation of the product, all instructions listed in the operating instructions must be observed carefully. Any form of use and handling that is advised against in the operating instructions or warned against must always be avoided.

The product is only intended for private and not for commercial use. In the case of incorrect and improper treatment, use of force and interventions not performed by our authorised Service Centre, the warranty shall cease.
