How do I start the Parkside pressure washer IAN 78962?

Ensure the water supply is connected and turned on, then plug the unit into a mains outlet. Press the power switch and squeeze the trigger on the gun. The motor will start automatically when the trigger is pulled.

What should I do if the pressure washer has no pressure?

Check that the water supply is fully open and the inlet filter is clean. Also, ensure the nozzle is not blocked. If the problem persists, bleed air from the pump by squeezing the trigger without a nozzle for a few seconds.

Can I use bleach or other chemicals with this pressure washer?

Only use detergents specifically designed for pressure washers. Do not use bleach, corrosive or flammable chemicals as they can damage seals and pose safety risks. The Parkside machine has a detergent system for approved cleaners.

How do I connect the detergent tank?

Fill the integrated detergent tank with appropriate cleaning solution. Adjust the metering valve to the desired concentration. Use the low-pressure nozzle (foam nozzle) to apply detergent. Do not use with high-pressure nozzles.

How do I store the pressure washer for winter?

Drain all water from the pump, hoses, and detergent tank. Run the unit for a few seconds without water to remove residual moisture. Add antifreeze for pressure washers to the pump if temperatures drop below 0°C. Store in a frost-free location.

Why does the pressure washer keep turning off?

The unit may be overheating due to continuous use. Pause and let it cool down. Also, check that the thermal overload protection hasn't tripped. If it happens frequently, ensure the water flow is adequate and the nozzle is not blocked.

How do I change the nozzle on the gun?

Turn off the unit and release any pressure by squeezing the trigger. Pull back the quick-connect collar on the lance, remove the current nozzle, and push the new nozzle into place. Release the collar to lock it securely.

Can I use an extension hose or power cord?

Yes, but use only high-pressure hose extensions rated for the unit's pressure (120 bar). The power cord can be extended with a suitable outdoor extension cable (min. 1.5 mm² cross-section) up to 10 m total length.

What maintenance does the pressure washer require?

Regularly clean the inlet filter and remove any debris. Check the pump oil level (if applicable) every 50 hours. After each use, detach the hose and run the pump briefly to clear water. Inspect hoses for leaks.

Intended purpose

The pipe cleaning set clears blockages from pipes, down pipes, drains and toilets. The equipment is intended for use with the Parkside pressure washers PHD 100 A1, PHD 100 B2, PHD 150, PHD 150 A1 and PHD 150 B2 Operating pressure (Rated pressure) max. 110 bar. The equipment is suitable for the following pipes:

• Curve C no more than 90°;
• Diameter D at least 40 mm;
• Radius R at least 70 mm.

The equipment is not intended for commercial use.

The operator or user is responsible for accidents or damages to other people or their property.

The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by use other than for the intended purpose or improper operation.

Functional description

The pipe cleaning set comprises a nozzle head and a 15 m long, flexible hose, which can be connected to a pressure washer. The hose is moved through the pipe by the four high-pressure jets that are directed backwards and the blockage is released by the water jet.

To avoid accidents and injuries:

Pressure washers can be dangerous if used incorrectly. Do not direct the jet at people, animals, live electrical equipment or the equipment itself.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Operation of the equipment is not permitted for people under the age of 16.

• Wear goggles to protect your eyes against loose dirt while working.

• To avoid damage and personal injury, only use the unit on leak-tight pipes and drains that are resistant to pressure.

• Do not leave equipment unattended in the workplace.
• Switch on the pressure washer only when the pipe cleaning hose is at least up to the red marking in the pipe to be cleaned.
• During high pressure operation, do not pull the inserted hose completely out of the pipe to be cleaned. You might be injured by the four pressure jets coming out at the back.
• The maximum washing temperature must not exceed 60^ C. The hose could be damaged.

Initial Operation

1. Connect the connecting piece (4) to the pressure washer spray gun Parkside (8). Turn it by 90° until it engages (bayonet joint).
2. Push the pipe cleaning hose (3) at least up to the red safety marking (7) into the pipe to be cleaned.

Caution! The red safety marking must be in the pipe before the pressure washer is switched on. The high-pressure jet could cause injury.

1. Switch on the pressure washer and squeeze the trigger on the spray gun (E8).

2. Whilst the nozzle head (5) is moving through the pipe independently, feed in the pipe cleaning hose (3) manually.

3. To release blockages, squeeze the trigger several times in a row then release it.

4. Your progress in the pipe can be marked with the marking ring (2). The progress can be read from the white scale (A6) on the hose, which is spaced at intervals of 1 m.

Cleaning/Maintenance/Storage

• Clean the equipment with a damp cloth.
• The equipment is maintenance free.
• Keep the equipment in a frost-proof area.

Waste disposal and environmental protection

Return the tool, accessories and packaging to a recycling centre when you have finished with them.

Guarantee

This equipment is provided with a 3-year guarantee from the date of purchase. In case of defects, you have statutory rights against the seller of the product. These statutory rights are not restricted by our guarantee presented below.

Terms of Guarantee

The term of the guarantee begins on the date of purchase. Please retain the original receipt. This document is required as proof of purchase.

If a material or manufacturing defect occurs within three years of the date of purchase of this product, we will repair or replace – at our choice – the product for you free of charge. This guarantee requires the defective equipment and proof of purchase to be presented within the three-year period with a brief written description of what constitutes the defect and when it occurred.

If the defect is covered by our guarantee, you will receive either the repaired product or a new product. No new guarantee period begins on repair or replacement of the product.

Guarantee Period and Statutory Claims for Defects

The guarantee period is not extended by the guarantee service. This also applies for replaced or repaired parts. Any damages and defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs arising after expiry of the guarantee period are chargeable.

The equipment has been carefully produced in accordance with strict quality guidelines and conscientiously checked prior to delivery.

The guarantee applies for all material and manufacturing defects. This guarantee does not extend to cover product parts that are subject to normal wear and may therefore be considered as wearing parts (e.g. filters or attachments) or to cover damage to breakable parts (e.g. switches, batteries, or parts made of glass).

This guarantee shall be invalid if the product has been damaged, used incorrectly or not maintained. Precise adherence to all of the instructions specified in the operating manual is required for proper use of the product. Intended uses and actions against

which the operating manual advises or warns must be categorically avoided. The product is designed only for private and not commercial use. The guarantee will be invalidated in case of misuse or improper handling, use of force, or interventions not undertaken by our authorised service branch.
