2. Safety of use

2.1. Safety recommendations

a) Please read these instructions carefully before starting up the unit! Observe all safety instructions to avoid damage from improper use!
b) Keep the operating instructions for future reference. If the machine is to be passed on to third parties, the operating instructions must also be handed over together with the machine.
c) Liability for any damage that may arise is excluded in the event of improper use or operation.
d) The unit may be operated by persons who are physically fit, capable of operating it and appropriately trained, and who have read this instruction manual and have been trained in occupational safety and health.
e) The machine is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with reduced mental, sensory or intellectual functions or persons who lack experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised or have been instructed by a person responsible for their safety on how to operate the machine.
f) Keep the work area tidy and well lit. Disorder or poor lighting can lead to accidents. Be foresighted, watch what you are doing and use common sense when using the unit.

2.2. Personal safety

a) Do not operate this device if you are tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that could impair your ability to operate the device.
b) Read the instructions and safety notes before each use.
c) Before each use, inspect the machine for parts that are worn or damaged in a way that prevents proper operation. Do not use the machine if parts are worn or damaged in a way that prevents proper operation (chain jumping, excessive noise, chain sticking, etc.).

3. Instructions for use

The machine is intended solely for manual lifting and lowering of loads. The weight of the load must not exceed the stated permissible load. The device is dedicated for factories, farms, construction sites for assembly purposes as well as loading and unloading of goods.

Using the unit in conditions of increased corrosion risk and/or in flammable or explosive environments is prohibited.

The user is responsible for any damage resulting from misuse.

3.2. Preparation for operation

ASSEMBLY OF THE UNIT

- Before installing the unit in the workplace, check its components for signs of damage.

• Make sure that the load-bearing structure on which the device is to be mounted will support its weight together with the weight of the load.

- The support on which the device is to be mounted must withstand 4 times the rated load.

- Do not mount the unit on a support structure the load capacity and strength of which have not been verified.

- When mounting the unit to the supporting structure, take special care and ensure proper conditions for safe operation to avoid hazards leading to personal injury.

- The user is responsible for preparing the conditions for the installation of the device and for the installation itself.

- After installing the unit, check that the hook is properly attached and that the latch is closed.

- Each time a load is lifted, check that the safety brake is working properly. To do this, hang a load on the device (approx. 10% of the permissible lifting capacity) and raise and lower it several times, making sure that after stopping lifting/lowering the load always stops in a given position without lowering itself.

- Each time check the control chain - whether it is not twisted and whether it is properly arranged, i.e. the links are aligned.

3.3. Working with the device

- Place the hook directly above the load so that it is not under tension and the hooked load rests firmly on the ground. - To raise/lower the load, pull the control chain responsible for lifting/lowering - lifting/lowering can be stopped at any time.

WARNING: in exceptional cases, the emergency brake may become hot for devices that are used intensively during continuous lowering.

- Always lower the load slowly and in stages. Stop the work immediately if the chain becomes jammed or any other fault occurs. In such acase, notify your supervisor or a responsible person who can safely remove the load and restore the normal operation of the device.

IMPORTANT: when unlocking the load lifted on the device, additional force may be required to release the friction between the brake components - this is normal and does not constitute a defect of the device!

3.4. Cleaning and maintenance

a) Use only non-corrosive cleaning agents for cleaning the surfaces.
b) Store the unit in a dry and cool place protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
c) Do not spray the unit with a stream of water or immerse it in water.
d) Perform regular inspections of the unit, checking technical fitness and any damages.
e) Do not use sharp and/or metal objects (e.g. wire brush or metal spatula) for cleaning as they may damage the surface of the appliance material.
