SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

CAUTION! Read all the following instructions. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.

OBSERVE THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW

Recommendations for device use

The device is intended only for pumping clean water. Mechanical impurities present in the water can damage the pump. The device is not designed to pump liquids other than water, such as oils, petrol, solvents, acids, bases, organic substances, fats, sewage, faecal matter, as well as water contaminated with such substances. Keep the device under constant supervision during operation. Do not allow the pump to dry run. This will cause the pump to overheat, which can damage it and cause fire or electrical shock.

The pump must not be used: for pumping drinking water; for continuous operation, for example, for supplying a fountain with water; for pumping water at a temperature higher than that specified in the technical data table.

It is forbidden to repair, disassemble, or modify the device by yourself. All repairs to the product must be carried out by an authorised service centre.

Clean the pump only with a clean water jet.

Make sure that the hose connected to the pump water outlet is not twisted or kinked. This can limit the flow of water through the pump and lead to its overheating.

The water where the pump is located can be contaminated by leakage of lubricants.

The device is not intended for use by children under at least 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical or mental abilities and by persons without experience in or understanding of the operation of the device, unless they will be supervised or instructed to use the device safely, in a manner ensuring that the risks involved are understood. Children should not play with the device. Unattended children should not be allowed to perform the cleaning and maintenance of the device.

Recommendations for transporting and installing the device

Warning! The pump must not be connected to the power supply during submersion. The device power cord plug must be unplugged from the socket.

The pump sucks the water through openings in the base. The pump should be submerged in water with the cord attached to the handle on the top of the pump housing before submersion. Do not use the power cord to submerge the pump. The power cord must not be overly tensioned.

If the pump is lowered into a water body whose bottom is contaminated with e.g. sand or sludge, or the water body does not have a hard bottom, ensure that the pump is not lowered all the way to the bottom. The pump suctioning impurities may become damaged. Excessive contamination can lead to blockages in the pump's inlet openings, which can cause damage to the pump.

It is forbidden to immerse the pump in water bodies with people in them.

If the pump is submerged in water bodies with a small surface area, e.g. a well, the minimum dimensions of the body at the pump's workplace are given in the technical data table.

The submerged pump must be positioned vertically. Tipping or tilting the pump leads to malfunction, reduces performance, and can also result in damage to the pump.

It is forbidden to drill any holes in the device, as well as making any other modifications of the

EN

device not described in the manual.

Move the product by grasping the handle or housing. Do not move the device by pulling on the power cord.

Recommendations for connecting the device to the power supply

Warning! The pump shall be supplied by a residual current device (RCD) with a rated differential current of not more than 30 mA.

Before connecting the device to the power supply, make sure that the voltage, frequency and performance of the mains correspond to the values shown on the device's rating plate. The plug must fit into the socket. It is forbidden to modify the plug in any way.

The mains supply circuit must be fitted with a protective conductor and a 16 A protective device.

Avoid contact of the power cord with sharp edges, hot objects or surfaces. During operation, the power cord must always be fully extended and the position of the power cord must be set so that it does not become an obstacle during operation. The power cord should not be placed in a manner which would pose a risk of tripping. The mains socket should be located in a place where it is always possible to quickly remove the device's power cord plug. Always pull the power cord by the plug housing when unplugging it, never by the cord.

If the power cord or the plug is damaged, immediately disconnect it from the mains and contact an authorised service centre of the manufacturer for replacement. Do not use the device with a damaged power cord or plug. The power cord or plug cannot be repaired and must be replaced with a new one that is free of defects if these components are damaged.

DEVICE OPERATION

Warning! Make sure that the device is disconnected from the power supply before commencing any assembly, disassembly and adjustment activities.

The hose can be connected to the pump outlet directly using a threaded connector, which is available separately. If the pump is used to pump water out of the barrel, it is recommended to use the water connectors supplied with the pump.

Screw the straight connector to the pump outlet, making sure that the gasket (II) is used. Straight connectors can be connected to each other to obtain a single tube with a telescopically adjustable length to adapt its length to the barrel size (III). At the top of the straight connector, attach an arc connector that will protrude beyond the edge of the barrel (III). The arc connector is fitted with a standard quick connector to which, for example, a garden hose can be attached.

The water connectors must be screwed on without tools with sufficient force to ensure a tight connection. Use of excessive force can damage the gaskets.

The arc connector is fitted with a valve. The valve is open when its knob is parallel to the connector on which it is mounted and closed when it is rotated perpendicularly to the connector on which it is mounted.

If the pump is to be submerged to a depth greater than the length of the rigid connectors, these should be replaced with another type of connector, such as a hose. Attach a cable to the pump handle to lower the pump into the water tank. It is prohibited to use the power cord or water connector to lower the pump into the water tank.

Starting and stopping the pump

The pump does not have a standard power switch. Depending on the model, it is activated and stopped by a float power switch or an automatic power switch.

YT-85286

The pump is started and stopped using the fl oat power switch.

The float power switch is connected to the pump by means of a short electric cord and contains a moving element inside which closes and opens the electrical circuit. The power switch float is raised in the water, causing the electrical circuit to close and the pump to start. If the water drops to such a level that the power switch float is directed upwards by the cable connector, the pump will be switched off.

EN

Placing the cord connecting the float power switch with the pump in the handle on top of the pump housing (IV) "shortens" the loose part of the cord. This can be used to change the height of the water level, which will cause the pump to switch on and off. Leave the cord between the handle and the power switch long enough to allow the power switch to change position freely. Too short a distance will not allow the pump to be switched on or off.

ATTENTION! It is forbidden to leave a running device unattended when the float power switch has been locked in the handle in the continuous operation position. Leaving the device switched on and unattended can result in dry run of the pump. This will cause the pump to overheat, which can damage it and cause fire or electrical shock.

YT-85287

The pump is started and stopped using the automatic power switch. The pump is switched off when the valve on the connector attached to the pump outlet is closed. Cessation of water intake from the pump outlet results in pump pressure increase. The pump is equipped with a pressure sensor that switches the pump off when maximum pressure is detected. When the pump is switched off, a built-in non-return valve maintains the pressure in the system. The pump starts automatically when the valve on the accessory fitted to the pump outlet is open. Water intake from the pump outlet results in pump pressure drop. A built-in pressure sensor triggers the pump when a drop in pressure below approx. 1.5 bar is detected.

Leak protection function (YT-85287 only)

The pump will automatically switch off when water stops flowing through the pump, e.g. the valve on the pump outlet connector is closed. The pump will switch on and off again at short intervals in the event of a leak on the outlet side of the pump, e.g. a leaking water connector. If the pump switches on and off more than 7 times within 2 minutes (with leakage <6 l/h), the pump will switch off completely. To restart the pump, unplug it from the mains socket, remove the leak and reconnect the device.

Small water intake (YT-85287 only)

To prevent the pump from shutting down early when using the pump for operation with small water amounts (e.g. drip irrigation), the leak protection function is only activated after approx. 60 minutes. Cyclically switching the pump on and off during the intake of small amounts of water does not affect the lifetime of the pump.

For continuous drip irrigation (YT-85287 only)

If the intake of a small amount of water takes longer than 60 minutes, irrigation should be stopped for 5 minutes before such amount of time has passed. The pump can then be used to operate with a low water intake for a further 60 minutes.

MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

After finishing work, the pump should be disconnected from the power source by pulling the power cord plug from the mains socket. Disconnect the hose from the pump outlet and allow the water to flow out of the pump under gravity. During this operation, the pump must be tilted in different directions. After emptying the pump, dry it externally with a soft cloth or leave it to dry. The external parts of the pump may be cleaned by means of a clean water jet with a pressure of not more than 0.3 MPa. When cleaning the pump, be careful not to get the plug of the power cord wet.

The pump is fitted with a base with a mesh filter (V). Disconnect the filter from the pump base by turning it clockwise until it unlocks, then clean separately. Install the filter when the base and pump are completely dry. Place the filter in the pump base and then turn it counterclockwise as far as possible, so that the catches of the filter hit the catches of the pump base. The filter should be cleaned after each use of the pump or earlier if a drop in performance is noticed.

ATTENTION! The pump must not be operated without a correctly installed filter.

Transport the pump emptied and dried. Move by grasping the handle located on top of the housing or by the housing. Never transport the pump by pulling or hanging it by the power cord. Transport in packaging which protects the pump from dust and dirt. Store the pump emptied and dried. The water left in the pump can freeze and cause damage to the pump. Store the pump in shaded areas which provide good ventilation and are protected against unauthorised use, especially by children. Protect the pump from temperatures below 0^ C. Freezing water increases its volume and can damage the pump.
