11. Tips for saving energy

Choose a location to use the appliance that is well ventilated and protected from the sun's rays.
Use the cool box's ECO mode during operation
- Allow warm foods to cool off before you keep them cool in the cooling appliance.
To ensure optimal cooling, fill the cool box with food and drinks that have already been chilled.
Cooling food and drinks that have not been pre-chilled takes considerably longer and uses more energy.
During operation without electricity, use pre-chilled ice packs.

Place the ice packs on the base and on the side walls.

If the cool box lid is left open for a long time, this can cause the temperature inside the cool box to increase significantly. To avoid loss of cold, open the cool box lid only briefly and not too often.
Do not cover the vents.

MEDION MD 13111 - Tips for saving energy - 1

The appliance is suitable for climate classes N/ST/T (see technical specifications). Correct cooling performance of the appliance is guaranteed at ambient temperatures from 16^ to 43^ . If temperatures deviate from this range, the appliance performance may be reduced.

12. Battery protection during operation via on-board socket

The battery protection function prevents the car/boat battery from being overloaded or drained when the cool box is in use.

Press the button to switch on the cool box.
Press and hold the button until H flashes in the display field.
Press the button again quickly to set the H, M or L battery protection function. The battery voltage is shown in the display field.

The factory setting is H (high protection).

MEDION MD 13111 - Battery protection during operation via on-board socket - 1

The voltage specifications are theoretical values. These may deviate depending on the ambient conditions.

MEDION MD 13111 - Battery protection during operation via on-board socket - 2

Due to the different output voltages of the various vehicle mains batteries, you can lower the battery protection setting by one level when voltage protection is displayed (F1 message):

H M or L

If possible, disconnect the mains cable when the engine is switched off to protect the vehicle battery from complete discharge. If you still want to operate the cool box with the engine switched off, select battery protection H.

  • Select battery protection H when the vehicle is supplied with power.
  • Select battery protection M or L if the cool box is connected to a portable battery or another backup battery.
