How to choose the right cookware for induction cooking

  • Use only cookware with a suitable base for induction hobs. Look for the induction symbol on the packaging or on the bottom of the cookware.
  • Cookware made of the following materials is incompatible: pure stainless steel, aluminium or copper without magnetic base, glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic and earthenware.
  • Do not use cookware with serrated edges or with a curved base.
  • Make sure the base of the cookware is smooth, flat against the glass, and of same size as the cooking zone. Always centre the cookware in the cooking area. The diameter cannot be less than 12 cm to ensure that the energy field has an effect. Do not use cookware with a diameter greater than 26 cm.
  • Always lift the cookware off the induction hob, do not slide it, as it could scratch the glass.
  • You can check if your cookware is suitable with a magnet test. Move a magnet towards the cookware base. If it sticks or is attracted by the utensil, this means that the utensil is compatible with the induction hob.

If you do not have a magnet

  1. Pour some water into the utensil to be tested.
  2. Switch on the hob and wait no more than 3 minutes to see if the water heats up.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Clean the induction hob after each use.
  2. Unplug and wait until the induction hob has cooled down before cleaning.
  3. If the surface becomes dirty, wipe it with a damp cloth.
  4. Keep the induction hob clean; prevent insects from entering to keep the unit in good working order.

ENGLISH

  1. Clean the ventilation grilles with a toothbrush or cotton swab to ensure that the air outlet is clear.
  2. The induction hob should only be repaired by professionals.
  3. Never use metallic cloths or abrasive detergents to clean the hob, as this may cause it to deteriorate and stop working properly.
