Read the instruction manual and the separately enclosed safety instructions very carefully before using this appliance. Keep these documents, including the warranty certificate, receipt and, if possible, the box with the inner packaging in a safe place. If you pass the appliance on to a third party, always include all the relevant documents.

Unpacking the Appliance
- Remove the appliance from its packaging.
- Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.
- Check the appliance for possible transport damage to avoid hazards. Do not operate a damaged appliance. Return it to the dealer immediately.
- There may still be dust or production residues on the appliance. We recommend that you clean the appliance as described under "Cleaning".

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance

WARNING: Risk of Burns!
- Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
Always make sure that the lid is firmly closed. - The housing becomes hot during operation! Do not touch the appliance and allow it to cool down before putting it away.

CAUTION: Overload!
If an extension lead is used, it should have a cable cross-section of at least 1.5mm^2
- Do not use a multiple socket as this appliance is too powerful.

CAUTION:
- Always switch off the appliance before removing it from the base! The contacts on the base are unsuitable for interrupting the power supply.
- Make sure that the appliance is switched off when you put it back on the base!
Notes for Use
Mains Cable
Unwind the required mains cable completely from the underside of the base. Ensure that the mains cable is routed correctly.
Connected Load
The appliance has a total power consumption of 2200 W. With this connected load, a separate supply line with a 16 A household circuit breaker is recommended.
Electrical Connection
- Check that the mains voltage matches that of the appliance. The details can be found on the rating plate on the base.
- Only connect the appliance to a properly installed earthed socket.
Switching the Appliance On/Off
- Switch On:
To switch on, set the switch to position I. The control lamp lights up.
- Switch Off:
To switch off, set the switch to position O. The control lamp goes out.
Preparation
Before using the appliance for the first time, boil it three times with fresh water. Only use clear water without additives.
Operation
- Place the appliance on a level surface.

Fill in clear water through the filler opening (maximum 1.7 litres). The fill level can be read from the water level indicator inside the appliance.

You do not need to remove the lid to fill in water. There is a self-closing filler opening in the lid. The flap opens automatically when water pressure is applied.
- Always use fresh, cold water.

The water level must be between the MIN and MAX mark.

Close the lid. Always make sure that the lid is firmly closed.
- Place the kettle flush on the base.
- Switch the appliance on with the switch. The control lamp lights up.
Interrupting/Cancelling Operation
There are two ways to interrupt or stop the boiling process:
- The appliance switches off automatically after the cooking process. The control lamp goes out.

To end or interrupt the cooking process prematurely, set the switch to the O position.

Always switch off the appliance before removing it from the base! The contacts on the base are unsuitable for interrupting the power supply.

Make sure that the appliance is switched off when you put it back on the base!

Disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
-
Empty the water tank.
-
Only hold the appliance by the handle.
- Keep the lid closed when pouring.
-
Only open and close the lid with the lever in the lid.

The housing becomes hot during operation! Do not touch the appliance and allow it to cool down before putting it away.
Cleaning

WARNING:
- Always switch off the appliance before cleaning and disconnect the mains plug from the socket. Wait until the appliance has cooled down.
- Do not immerse the appliance or the base in water. This could lead to an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.

Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.

Rinse out the water container with clear water. Dry it with a cloth.
After use, clean the housing with a slightly damp cloth.
Filter
A permanent filter is located at the spout opening. To clean the filter, pull it out with the lid open.
- Rinse it under running water. You can use a nylon brush to help.
- Replace the filter. When doing so, pay attention to the guide inside the water kettle.
Descending
- The intervals between descending depend on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use.
- If the appliance switches off before the water boils, descending is necessary.
- Do not use vinegar, but a commercially available descending agent based on citric acid. Please dose according to the instructions.
- After descaling, boil fresh water several times (approx. 3 to 4 times) to remove residues. Do not use this water for consumption.
Storage

Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry completely.
We recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging if you do not intend to use it for a longer period of time. -
Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.
Winding Device for Mains Cable
You can wind up the mains cable on the base section.
