4. For your safety

Caution! Risk of electrocution!

• Connect the device via the USB cable only to a suitable USB power source such as a computer, USB power adapter (DC 5V 1A).
• The device and the USB cable must not come into contact with water or moisture. Only suitable for use in dry indoor areas.
• Do not use the device if the housing or the USB cable are damaged.
• Operate the device out of reach of persons (including children) who cannot fully appreciate the potential risks of handling electrical equipment.
• Unplug the device if any fault occurs.
• Route the USB cable lead so that it does not come into contact with sharp-edged or hot objects.

WARNING!

• Keep this device and the batteries out of reach of children.
• Small parts can be swallowed by children (under three years old).

• Batteries contain harmful acids and may be hazardous if swallowed. If you suspect a battery could have been swallowed or otherwise caught in the body, seek medical help immediately.
• Batteries must not be thrown into a fire, short-circuited, taken apart or recharged. Risk of explosion!
• Low batteries should be changed as soon as possible to prevent damage caused by leaking. Make sure the polarities are correct. Never use a combination of old and new batteries together, nor batteries of different types. Remove the batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period of time.
• Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes when handling leaking batteries. In case of contact, immediately rinse the affected areas with water and consult a doctor.

Important Information on product safety!

• Unauthorised repairs, alterations or changes to the product are prohibited.
• Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, vibrations or shocks.
• Clean the device with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
• Protect the textile cover from direct sunlight and soiling.
• Remove the batteries and disconnect the device from the mains if you will not be using it for a longer period of time.

6. Getting started

• Note: The digital light alarm clock can be operated with 3 x 1,5 V AA batteries (not included) or with the USB-/mains connection (USB cable included). In pure battery operation, the display is activated for 10 seconds each time a button is pressed. For permanent illumination, use of all light functions and to extend the battery life, please use the supplied USB cable for the power supply.
• Connect the device to a suitable USB power source, such as a computer, or use a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
• Optional: Open the back cover and insert three new AA 1.5 V batteries, polarity as illustrated.
• Do not close the back cover until you have made all the settings.
• The night light switches on briefly, all LCD segments are displayed briefly and a signal tone sounds.

7. Operation

• Note: To be able to make settings, the display must first be activated by pressing a button (in pure battery operation).
• The device will automatically quit the setting mode if no button is pressed for 20 seconds.
• Press and hold the + or - button in setting mode for fast mode.

7.1 Setting of the time and date

• Press and hold the TIME SET button in normal mode for three seconds, to enter the setting mode.
  • The first adjustable value flashes on the display.
• Use the + or - button to make the desired setting, while the value flashes.
• Confirm with the TIME SET button and go to the next setting.
  • The sequence is shown as follows:
• Year, month, day
  – Hour, minutes
• Press the TIME SET button to confirm the setting or wait 20 seconds, the device will save the setting automatically.

7.2 12-hour or 24-hour system

• Press the + button in normal mode to choose between the 12 - or 24-hour system. In the 12 Hr system PM (after 12 o'clock) appears on the display.
• Press and hold the ALARM SET button for three seconds to enter the alarm setting mode.

7.3 Alarm clock function

• The hour digits and the alarm symbol start flashing.
- Press the + or - button to set the hours.
- Confirm the setting with the ALARM SET button.
- Set the minutes in the same way.
- Confirm the setting with the ALARM SET button.
- To activate the alarm function, slide the ALARM ON/OFF switch forwards.
- The free area in the slide switch turns green. The alarm time and the alarm symbol appear on the display.
- When the adjusted alarm time is reached, the alarm rings and the alarm symbol will appear on the display.
- Press any button (except LIGHT/SNOOZE) and the alarm will stop.
- If the alarm is not stopped manually, the alarm sound automatically turns off after 2 minutes and will be reactivated 24 hours later.
- When the alarm rings, press the LIGHT/SNOOZE sensor button and the snooze function is activated. The alarm symbol slowly flashes on the display.
• The alarm will be interrupted for 5 minutes.
- The wake-up light turns on 10 minutes before the alarm time and gradually becomes brighter.
- Once the alarm has stopped, the wake-up light switches off automatically.
- To deactivate the alarm function, slide the ALARM ON/OFF switch backwards. The free area in the slide switch turns red.
- Note: If the alarm is activated, press the TIME SET button to display the date and year instead of the alarm time. After 10 seconds, the alarm time is displayed again.

8. Night light

- Note: The night light only works with USB-/mains connection.

• Press the LIGHT/SNOOZE sensor button once to activate or deactivate the night light.
• Dim function (with night light already activated): Press and hold the LIGHT/SNOOZE sensor button to dim the night light continuously. Release the sensor button as soon as you have chosen a setting.
• Sleep mode (AUTO-OFF): Press and hold the – button for more than two seconds to activate sleep mode. The night light flashes twice when switched on and switches off automatically after 30 minutes.

9. Display light

9.1 Operation with power adapter

• Note: Continuous illumination of the display only works with USB-/mains connection.
• The display light has two brightness levels.
- The brightness is regulated via the light sensor, i.e. dim light switches on automatically as soon as the light sensor registers darkness.

9.2 Battery operation

- Press any button to activate the backlight for 10 seconds.

10. Troubleshooting

11. Waste disposal

This product and its packaging have been manufactured using high-grade materials and components which can be recycled and reused. This reduces waste and protects the environment.

Disposal of the electrical device

Remove non-permanently installed batteries and rechargeable batteries from the device and dispose of them separately.

This product must not be disposed of in ordinary household waste. As a consumer, you are required to take end-of-life devices to a designated collection point for the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment, in order to ensure environmentally-compatible disposal. The return service is free of charge. Observe the current regulations in place!

Disposal of the batteries

Never dispose of empty batteries and rechargeable batteries with ordinary household waste. They contain pollutants which, if improperly disposed of, can harm the environment and human health. As a consumer, you are required by law to take them to your retail store or to an appropriate collection site depending on national or local regulations in order to protect the environment. The return service is free of charge.

The symbols for the contained heavy metals are:
