Ideal for users who wear glasses
To ensure that even people who wear glasses have an optimum field of vision, the MINOX X–PRO are equipped with adjustable eyecups.
Use without glasses
Users who do not wear glasses should turn the eyecups on both eyepieces anticlockwise until they click into place. In this position the binoculars are at the correct distance from the eye.
Use with glasses
Users who wear glasses should leave the eyecups on both eyepieces in the original position (delivery state) or turn the eyecups clockwise until they click into place. This allows you to see the entire field of vision without annoying clipping of the edges.
The correct pupil spacing
Please look through the eyepieces of your binoculars and fold the tubes in or out until both fields of view form a common circular image.
FOCUSSING
In order to achieve optimum sharpness of the image, the lenses of the binoculars must be adjusted to the individual visual performance of your eyes. Please proceed as follows:
- First aim at a distant stationary object. Keep your right eye closed and turn the central drive until the object you are observing is in optimum focus for your left eye.
- Now aim at the same object, close your left eye and turn the dioptre adjustment ring on the right eyepiece until you achieve the optimum focus for your right eye.
- Your MINOX binoculars are now individually adjusted to the visual performance of your eyes.
- To view different objects at different distances, you will always need to adjust the focus. From now on, please only use the central drive to achieve this.

Notice: Do not make any modifications to the binoculars other than those described in these instructions, as this may impair the water-tightness and mechanical functions. When using running water to clean the binoculars, take care not to use a strong jet, as the resulting pressure can impair the water-tightness.
Dirt will impair the brightness of images on your MINOX binoculars. We therefore recommend you remove finger marks, dust and other dirt from the surfaces of the lenses and eyepiece using a soft hair brush and/or the optics cleaning cloth supplied. When the binoculars are not in use, the lenses should be protected from damage and dirt by protective caps or the equivalent. Do not allow the lenses and seals of the binoculars to come into contact with oil or solvents. Therefore protect your product from cleaning agents. When using commercially available optical cleaning agents to clean the lenses, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Cleaning cloths and cleaning sticks must be clean and free of foreign bodies, as these can damage the surface when rubbed against the lenses. Coarse soiling can be rinsed off under running water. Clean the lenses with a soft cloth (cleaning cloth for optics).
The lenses should be cleaned only if they are dirty enough to affect the image.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problems with the image
A circular image without vignetting is not achieved during observation.
This may be due to the pupil of the user being out of alignment with the eyepiece of the binoculars. Correct your head posture and the position of your eyes and the binoculars. The eyecup may possibly be positioned inappropriately for whether the user is wearing glasses. Correcting the setting of the eyecups: If wearing glasses, turn the eyecup back clockwise; if not wearing glasses, turn the eyecup out anti-clockwise. Other possibilities include incorrect focusing, lack of dioptre compensation, or incorrect pupil spacing. Check these options by following the instructions on page 5–6. This is how to achieve an optimum image.
Internal fogging
Internal fogging can be caused by damaged seals and the penetration of moisture.
This is usually caused by improper handling and is therefore excluded from the warranty. In the event of fogging of the internal lenses, take your binoculars to an authorised MINOX dealer or send them to MINOX Customer Service for repair.
Fogging of the external lens surfaces
Fogging of the external lens surfaces generally occurs in the event of major temperature changes and high humidity; it does not constitute a defect.
SERIAL NUMBER
You will find the individual serial number on the back of the bridge your MINOX binoculars.
