Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label. This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.
Important safety instructions
- In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to our customer service department (see appendix).
- Caution: Risk of injury! The blade is sharp. Do not touch the blade while the appliance is operating. Take care during assembly and cleaning.
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
• Always clean the appliance after use.
Wipe the blade, sliding carriage, stop plate and leftover holder with a damp cloth.
- For more information about cleaning, please refer to the section Cleaning and care.
- The appliance must be operated with the sliding carriage and leftover holder in the operating position (see illustration) unless the size or shape of the item being sliced does not permit their use.
- Warning! Improper use (misuse) of the appliance may cause personal injury!
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket
- when there is no supervision,
- before each assembly and disassembly,
- after use,
- in case of any malfunction,
- during cleaning of the appliance.
- Do not take the power plug out of the socket by pulling on the power cord, but hold the power plug to take it out.
- Never handle the mains plug with wet hands.
- The appliance is designed for domestic use and similar applications, such as:
- in kitchen areas in shops, offices and similar work environments,
- in agricultural working environments,
- use by guests in hotels, motels and other residential facilities,
- in bed-and breakfast type environments.
- The appliance may be used by individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or those lacking experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received proper instruction regarding the safe operation of the appliance from a person responsible for their safety and fully understand the associated risks.
- Children must not be permitted to operate the appliance.
- The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children.
- Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
- Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- Do not allow the slicer to come into contact with open flames or any hot surface such as hotplates.
- Only operate the slicer when the blade, sliding carriage and leftover holder are correctly assembled.
- For safety reasons, always turn the stop plate back to the 4mm position after each use so that it aligns flush with the blade.
- Do not allow the power cord to come into contact with the blade.
- Keep your hair, hands, and loose clothing away from moving parts, openings, and vents to avoid entanglement.
- Use and store the appliance in dry indoor areas only.
- No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
Intended Use
- This appliance has been designed for slicing bread, sausage, ham, cheese, cold roasts and other fresh foods that are hard to slice.
- The appliance is not suitable for cutting frozen food, meat with bones or rolled roasts in the mesh.
Operating time
The appliance is designed for short-time operation (short operation 5 min.), i.e. you can use the universal slicer for up to 5 minutes without interruption. The motor must then be switched off to cool down.
Before using the appliance for the first time
- Unpack the appliance completely and remove any protective foils etc.
- Before first use, the unit should be cleaned with a damp cloth, as described in Cleaning and care.
Positioning the slicer
- Place the universal slicer on a smooth, stable support surface.
- Completely unwind the power cord and guide it through the cable guide on the back of the appliance.
Fitting the sliding tray
- To install the sliding carriage, place it on the appliance and press down gently until it audibly clicks into the central guide rail.
- To remove the sliding carriage, pull it forward slightly and then press down.
Setting thickness
- The cutting thickness can be adjusted steplessly with the adjustment knob.
- To avoid injury from the blade, turn the stop plate back to the _mm position using the adjustment knob after each use so that it aligns flush with the blade.
On/off switch
The appliance has three switch positions:
0 The appliance is switched off.
I The appliance remains on as long as the button is held down.
II The appliance remains on continuously.
Slicing
- Adjust the desired thickness of the slices.
- Place the tray to the left of the appliance.
- Using your right hand, place the item to be sliced against the stop plate on the sliding carriage. If necessary, place the leftover holder onto the sliding carriage with the textured side facing the food. The leftover holder ensures safe guidance of the food during slicing.
- Switch on the appliance with your left hand.
- Guide the food carriage against the running blade. Press the food to be cut lightly against the blade with the leftover holder.
- Remove the cut food to the left of the appliance.
Cleaning and care
General
- Always remove the plug from the wall socket before detaching any accessories, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Wait for the blade to come to a complete stop. Turn the stop plate to the ▲ position so the blade is fully covered.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water. - Do not use sharp, abrasive cleaning agents or hard brushes.
- If necessary, only wipe the housing with a slightly damp cloth.
- The leftover holder, sliding carriage and tray can be cleaned in warm water with mild detergent. Do not place in the dishwasher.
Cleaning and removing the blade
- The blade is very sharp, risk of injury! Only hold the blade by its centre part; do not hold the blade by its edge.
- Wipe the blade with a slightly damp cloth. You should also regularly clean the space behind the blade:
- To remove the blade, rotate the locking mechanism in the centre of the blade approximately 90^ to the right into a vertical position (see illustration).
- Clean the blade carefully, for example using a washing-up brush. Then dry it thoroughly and with care.
- In order to insert the blade, set it in the blade holder and turn the lock to the left into the horizontal position.
Cord winder
Stow away the power cord after use using the cord winder on the underside of the appliance.
