Which vehicles are compatible with the YB06-11 catalytic converter?

This model is designed for Subaru H4 2.5L engines (2005-2010) excluding Turbo models (Forester, Impreza, Outback) and the Saab 9-2X front H4 2.5L (2006) excluding Turbo version. Check inlet and outlet diameters before purchase.

Why is there white smoke after installing the new converter?

This is normal. The converter is coated with anti-rust oil that evaporates when heated. The white smoke disappears after about 30 minutes of operation.

Why is there a burning smell after installation?

The burning smell is due to the combustion of the transparent adhesive tape surrounding the ceramic support inside the converter. It disappears after about 50 km of driving.

Is this catalytic converter legal in California?

No, this converter is not compatible with CARB standards and cannot be used on vehicles registered in California.

Is the converter compliant with OBD standards?

Yes, it is compliant with OBD III (OBD IV according to the manual) for federal emission standards. However, it is not CARB certified.

How to install the catalytic converter?

It is strongly recommended to have the installation done by a professional. The converter mounts on the vehicle's original flanges. Use the provided gaskets and hardware.

What materials are used in this converter?

The body is made of stainless steel and the internal substrate is ceramic (honeycomb structure) containing precious metal catalysts such as platinum, rhodium, and palladium.

Does the converter come with all necessary accessories?

Can I drive immediately after installation?

WARNING:

After receiving our product, you need to find a repair shop to put the car shelf, then remove the old catalytic converter, install the new catalytic convert its original position, and install the gasket and washer, tighten the screws! You now drive and use it normally!

After installing the catalyst, the following two situations will occur, both of which normal phenomena!

Firstly, the surface of the catalytic converter is coated with rust proof oil. After car starts and the catalytic converter is at high temperature, the rust proof of the surface will evaporate due to heat, and white smoke will emerge. After a 30 minutes of use, it will disappear on its own. This is a normal phenomenon please do not worry!

Secondly, after the installation of the new catalyst, when the car starts to us burnt odor will be emitted from the exhaust gas. This is because the cerami carrier part of the catalyst's internal structure is wrapped in a fireproof cotton with transparent tape, also known as an insulation cotton pad. It wraps arour ceramic carrier, and the transparent gelatin belt will burn when exposed to hi temperatures. At this time, the exhaust pipe will discharge this odor, so you smell a burnt odor! It will disappear on its own after using about 50 kilometer is a normal phenomenon! Don't worry!

Friendly Note: This part cannot be used for California-registered vehicles. (Due to the increased emissions standards, this converter is NOT legal f use in CA.)
