WARNINGS AND PERSONAL SAFETY
- Read and follow all safety instructions given in this manual carefully
- Do not allow the pump to freeze. Doing so will void the warranty.
- Only pump water with this pump.
- Inspect the pump for any damages periodically.
INTRODUCTION
The shallow well hand pitcher pump can be used to pump water from barrels or ponds. Pitcher Pumps can also be used as a drinking-water pump to draw water from a well. The water level must be less than the bottom of the pump. Note: This is where the water is actually be pulled from. It is attached to common plumbing connectors, and it is easy to install.

- To adjust the handle direction, loosen the bolt on the top of the pump. Turn the handle to the desired direction, and then tighten the bolt. See Figure 2-1
- Place the gasket on the outlet pipe, and then secure the outlet p the pump with short bolts. See Figure 2-2
Note: Missing gaskets and bolts are not tightened, which may cause leakage.
- To increase the installation height of the water pump, use long be secure the water pump to the water pump support. See Figure 3
Note: Pump brackets need to be purchased separately.
- Screw the suction pipe with G1-5/8" connector to the bottom of the pump.
Note: The joint should be wrapped with waterproof tape to avoid affe the normal pumping of the pump.

Drop-Pipe Installation
- You will need G1-5/8" inch steel pipe with threads or G1-5/8" inch pipe with a G1-5/8" inch male adapter.
- Fasten a drop-pipe to the bottom of the pump. Note: The drop-pipe should be the same size as the connection on the pump.
● The drop-pipe should be submerged at least 1.5m.
● Tighten the drop-pipe enough to prevent leaks. NOTE: Any small can prevent the pump from priming.
Sealing Pipe Joints
- Thread tape or a good quality thread sealant should be used on a pipe threads. NOTE: Do not use thread tape with PVC pipe.
- Use only thread tape or Teflon-based joint compounds for connecting metal to metal on the pump itself.
- Make sure that all pipe joints in the suction pipe are airtight as w watertight.
- If the suction pipe draws air, the pump will not be able to pull from the well.
Priming The Pump
- Do not operate the pump if it is dry. Operating the pump without may damage the leather cup.
● Always fill the pump with water before starting the pump.
- To prime the pump, pour water on the top of the pitcher pump u runs out of the spout.
- Wait 5 minutes until the cup leather swells enough to make contents with the pump wall.
- Raise and lower the handle in short strokes until the suction pipe with water. (NOTE: Any leak on the suction side will prevent the from priming.)
Freezing Protection
- During frost or cold weather, the plug valve gasket (19) and the c leather (9) may freeze to the pump.
● body. If you start pumping while the parts are frozen, these two p may tear, damaging the pump. - You can protect the pump against freezing by keeping the handle the ‘upward’ position. That way, the pitcher pump will self-drain.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If your pump does not pump:
- Open the pump and make sure the sealing gasket (2) is not brok. Ensure it is centred over the hole.
● Make sure the cup leather (9) and the gaskets are not damaged.
● Reassemble the body and ensure the bolts are tightened enough prevent air from entering the base. - Check for leaks around the joints. Tighten clamps or add thread ta as needed. Replace defective fasteners.
● Make sure the pipe end is submerged in the water. - Use plenty of clean water when priming. The cup leather (9) will expand as it absorbs water. Let the cup leather absorb water for hours and try again.
● Make sure you are not trying to lift water more than 6m. Note: be measured from the water surface to the spout. - At higher elevations, the depth of the water to be pumped is rec. At sea level and under ideal conditions, this pump will lift to a maximum of about 7m.

Replacing The Cup Leather
- Loosen the fastening bolt of the top cap (16) and lift the plunger assembly out of the pump.
- Unscrew the cup leather holder (7).
- Remove the old cup leather (9) and put a new cup leather.
- Screw the cup leather holder (7) back into the original position.
- Reinstall the plunger assembly and top cap (13).
- Insert the fastening bolt (16) and tighten it.
Replacing The Plug Valve Gasket And The Sealing Gasket
- Unscrew the fastening bolt (10) and remove the pump body (4) from flange (1).
- Take out the plug valve (3), remove the old plug valve gasket (1) the plug valve and then put a new
plug valve gasket. - Remove the old sealing gasket (2) from the flange (1) and replace a new sealing gasket on the
flange. NOTE: Before placing the new sealing gasket on the flange (clean the flange by removing dirt/
debris that could be left in it. - Place the plug valve (3) back into the original position.
- Reattach the pump body (4) to the flange (1) by tightening the fa bolt (10).
