CEILING FAN FRESKO HIDE&GO

Dear customer,

Many thanks for choosing to purchase a TAURUS brand product.

Thanks to its technology, design and operation and the fact that it exceeds the strictest quality standards, a fully satisfactory use and long product life can be assured.

SAFETY ADVICE AND WARNINGS

• Read these instructions carefully before switching on the appliance and keep them for future reference. Failure to follow and observe these instructions could lead to an accident.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

- Cut off the power before installation, assembly, disassembly, maintenance, or cleaning task to avoid personal injury.

• Install the appliance in accordance with national wiring regulations.

- Means for disconnection must be incorporated in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.

• The mounting of the suspension system shall be performed by the manufacturer, its service agent or suitably qualified persons.
• The weight of the appliance is 6,35 kg.
• The fixing means for attachment to the ceiling such as hooks or other devices shall be fixed with a sufficient strength to withstand 4 times the weight of the ceiling fan, that is at least 26 kg.
• The replacement of parts of the safety suspension system device shall be performed by the manufacturer, its service agent or suitably qualified persons.
• The fan is to be installed so that the blades are more than 2,3 m above the floor, and the outermost edge of the fan blades should be at least 0.5 m away from the wall (when stretched).
• See the installation instructions, the maintenance cycle and method of maintenance at the instructions manual.
• This product contains a light source of energy efficiency class F.
• The light source contained in this luminaire shall only be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similar qualified person.
• WARNING: If unusual oscillating movement is observed, immediately stop using the ceiling fan and contact

the manufacturer, its service agent or suitably qualified persons.

• This appliance is for household use only, not professional, industrial use.
- Do not touch any of the appliance's moving parts while it is operating.
- Do not stare at the operating light source.

USE AND CARE

• Do not use the device if its accessories are not properly attached.
• Do not use the appliance if the on/off button does not work.
• Make sure to stop the appliance before carrying out any cleaning operation.
• Keep the device in good condition. Check that moving parts are not misaligned or stuck, that there are no broken parts or other conditions that could affect the proper functioning of the appliance.

INSTALLATION

• Be sure to remove all packaging material from inside the device.
• Make sure that the device is unplugged from the mains before starting any installation or assembly operation.
• Remove the motor from the packaging. To avoid damaging the housing surfaces, mount the motor on a soft surface.
• In order to avoid electric shock, make sure that the power supply has been previously disconnected.
• The electrical installation must be carried out in accordance with current regulations, connecting the fan to ground as a precaution against possible electric shocks. It is recommended that the installation be done by a professional.
• Install the fan at a minimum distance of 2.50 meters from the ground or other objects.

FAN INSTALLATION

• See the installation steps at the beginning of this instruction manual.
- In the package you will find the material for fixing the support to the ceiling (wood and concrete). This material is not suitable for depending on what type of roof (suspended ceiling). Ask a professional and use the fixing means that you think are most appropriate.

INSTALLING THE BATTERY/S

• This appliance uses a pair of 1,5V AAA batteries.
• Caution: During the handling of batteries, do not touch both poles at the same time, as this will provoke the partial discharge of the stocked energy therefore affecting longevity.
• Remove the cover of the battery compartment.
• Check that the plastic covering that protects the battery has been removed (some batteries are sold with a protective covering)
• Put the battery in its compartment, respecting the polarity.
• Replace the cover of the battery compartment.
• It is essential that the batteries should always be the same kind and the same charge. Never mix alkaline batteries with Carbon-Zinc ones and/or rechargeable ones.
  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• DO NOT charge rechargeable batteries while they are still in the appliance as it may cause internal gas or heat

generation, resulting in an explosion or possibly a fire that could cause serious injury or property damage.

- To preserve battery life, remove the batteries when it's not being used, and is not expected to be used for extended periods of time.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

USE

- Start the device by pressing the desired speed button.

TIMER FUNCTION

• You can control the operating time of the device.
• To program an operating time simply select it by pressing one of the timer buttons. You can program 1h, 2h, 4h or 8h.
  • After the selected time has passed, the device will stop automatically.

AIR FLOW MODE

• Pressing the airflow mode button you can change the air flow to natural mode.
• This mode is designed to provide a feeling of breeze, increasing and decreasing speed.

ROTATION DIRECTION CHANGE

- The device has a rotation direction button that allows changing the direction of rotation of the blades.

SUMMER FUNCTION

- The blades rotate counterclockwise. The movement of the blades generates a soft breeze that reduces high ambient temperatures and provides a pleasant sensation of freshness.

WINTER FUNCTION

- The blades rotate clockwise. In this way, the fan pushes the hot air accumulated on the ceiling of the room downwards, balancing the temperature of the room and creating a cozy climate.

LIGHT FUNCTION

• Press the light button to turn on the light.
• To change the color, press the button again.

IMPORTANT: When turning the light on and off, if it takes more than 10 seconds to turn it back on, the same color will remain. If you take less than 10 seconds, the light color will change.

WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED USING THE APPLIANCE

- Stop the device by pressing the on/off button.

CLEANING

• Unplug the device from the mains and let it cool before starting any cleaning operation. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth soaked in a few drops of detergent and then dry it.
• Do not use solvents, or products with an acidic or basic pH factor such as bleach, or abrasive products to clean the device. Do not submerge the device in water or other liquid, or put it under the tap.

SERVICE

- Any misuse or failure to follow the instructions for use renders the guarantee and the manufacturer's liability null and void.

ANOMALIES AND REPAIR

• Take the appliance to an authorised technical support service if problems arise. Do not try to dismantle or repair without assistance, as this may be dangerous.
