How to install the K-13692 showerhead?

First install the shower elbow to the ceiling or wall. Apply thread seal tape to the threads of the shower arm, then screw it into the elbow. Place the flange against the wall and tighten the set screw. Finally, screw the showerhead onto the arm and tighten by hand or with a clean strap wrench.

How to clean the showerhead nozzles?

Run water through the showerhead, then vigorously rub your finger back and forth over the face nozzles. This dislodges debris and mineral deposits. If that does not suffice, clean the washer with screen.

What to do if the showerhead drips after use?

After each use, tilt the showerhead to empty it completely. Residual water can accumulate and cause dripping. If the problem persists, check the seals of the connections.

How to clean the washer with screen?

Unscrew the showerhead from the arm using a clean wrench. Use a fine flathead screwdriver to gently lift the rim of the washer with screen, then remove it. Clean it with clear water and reinstall it with the conical end facing outward. Apply thread seal tape before screwing the showerhead back on.

What is the recommended water temperature to avoid burns?

It is recommended to set the water temperature to 120°F (49°C) or lower. Higher temperature can cause serious burns. Follow the adjustment procedure provided in the faucet guide.

What cleaning products to use?

Before attaching the showerhead, turn on the water to flush debris through the shower arm. This prevents particles from clogging the nozzles. Then turn off the water before screwing on the showerhead.

Important Information

WARNING: Riskofscalding. High water temperature can cause severe burns. Set the water temperature at or below 120°F (49°C) following the adjustment procedure in the valve Installation and Care Guide.

NOTICE: Choose an automatic compensating valve with the appropriate minimum flow rating to ensure your valve will provide safety at the lowest flow rates.

Install the Showerhead

NOTE: The shower arm with flange are not provided.

□ Remove the existing showerhead and shower arm, if applicable.
☐ Install the shower elbow. Make sure the elbow is securely mounted and has adequate strength to support the showerhead.
□ Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant to the back of the flange.
☐ Place the flange onto the long end of the shower arm as shown.
□ Apply sealant tape to the threads of each end of the shower arm.
☐ Install the shower arm to the shower elbow and tighten securely with a clean strap wrench.
☐ Press the flange against the finished wall/ceiling and secure to the shower arm by tightening the setscrew.
□ Remove any excess plumbers putty.
□ Turn on the water to flush any debris through the shower arm.
□ Turn off the water.
☐ Install the showerhead to the shower arm and tighten securely with a clean strap wrench.
□ Check all connections for leaks.

NOTE: After each use some water may remain in the showerhead.

To prevent dripping, tilt the showerhead to drain.

Clean the Spray Holes

To dislodge debris and mineral build-up:

□ Run water through the showerhead.
□ Firmly rub your finger back and forth across the spray holes in the showerhead face.
☐ If this procedure fails to improve the performance of the showerhead, proceed to the "Clean the Screen Washer" section of this guide.

Clean the Screen Washer

☐ Use a clean wrench to remove the showerhead from the shower arm; be careful not to mar the finish.
☐ Use a thin bladed screwdriver to carefully pry up the edge of the screen washer. Remove and clean the screen washer.

NOTE: Do not attempt to remove the flow control.

□ Reinstall the screen washer with the tapered end out.
□ Apply sealant tape to the threads of the shower arm.
□ Reinstall the showerhead.

Care and Cleaning

For best results, keep the following in mind when caring for your KOHLER product:

• Use a mild detergent such as liquid dishwashing soap and warm water for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners that may scratch or dull the surface.
• Carefully read the cleaner product label to ensure the cleaner is safe for use on the material.
• Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.
• Do not allow cleaners to sit or soak on the surface.

• Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately after cleaner application. Rinse and dry any overspray that lands on nearby surfaces.
• Use a soft, dampened sponge or cloth. Never use an abrasive material such as a brush or scouring pad to clean surfaces.

KOHLER® Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty

Kohler Co. warrants its Faucets* manufactured after January 1, 1997, to be leak and drip free during normal residential use for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns his or her home. If the Faucet should leak or drip during normal use, Kohler Co. will, free of charge, mail to the purchaser the cartridge necessary to put the Faucet in good working condition. This warranty applies only to Kohler Faucets installed in the United States of America, Canada or Mexico ("North America").

Kohler Co. also warrants all other aspects of the faucet or accessories ("Faucet")*, (except gold, non-Vibrant®, non-chrome finishes) to be free of defects in material and workmanship during normal residential use for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns his or her home. This warranty applies only to Kohler Faucets installed in North America. If a defect is found in normal residential use, Kohler Co. will, at its election, repair, provide a replacement part or product, or make appropriate adjustment. Damage to a product caused by accident, misuse, or abuse is not covered by this warranty. Improper care and cleaning will void the warranty**. Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) must be provided to Kohler Co. with all warranty claims. Kohler Co. is not responsible for labor charges, installation, or other incidental or consequential costs. In no event shall the liability of Kohler Co. exceed the purchase price of the Faucet.
