- When the appliance is not in use, remove the essential oil bottle from the appliance and close it with the relevant lid.
- Prior to any maintenance, cleaning and after each use, switch off the appliance and unplug the mains cable from the socket.
- Repairs to electrical appliances must only be carried out by a qualified electrical technician.
- WARNING: Only use the USB cable provided by the manufacturer. Use only an external supply with the following specifications: DC 5 V / 2 A.
- Ensure that the appliance is placed on a surface that is resistant to moisture and fragrances (e.g. avoid parquet, wood, marble or other sensitive materials).
Setting up / operation
- Place Ella in the desired position on a flat surface. Connect the USB-C cable (1) to the appliance (10) and connect the cable to a suitable power source (PC, external battery, USB socket or to a suitable socket via a power adapter with 2 A/5 V). When the appliance is used for the first time, the battery must be charged by connecting the appliance to a power source for at least 4 h. When the battery is fully charged, the battery charge status
LED (11) will go out. If the LED starts to flash, the battery is almost dead (charge level 10 % or less). After the battery has been fully charged for the first time, you can operate the appliance without the cable using the power from the integrated rechargeable battery. A fully charged battery will give the appliance a running time of up to 10 days*.
- For the use of essential oils you have three options:
a. To use Stadler Form natural essential oils.
b. To fill a fragrance into the 0.5 fl.oz / 15 ml essential oil bottle supplied (already attached to the spray head).
c. To use other fragrances with a bottle size of 0.2 fl.oz / 5 ml, 0.3 fl.oz/10 ml or 0.5 fl.oz / 15 ml.
-
Lift off the spray head (2) and remove the essential oil bottle (14) supplied by turning it anti-clockwise (options a, b and c, see point 2). Remove the cap (15) and, where necessary, the dropper (16) from your essential oil bottle (option a or c) and screw it back into the thread of the spray head (4). You also have the option of filling the supplied bottle (14) with an essential oil of your choice (option b, e.g. if your essential oil bottle does not fit into the appliance).
-
Important: transport the appliance in an upright position and without making any jerky movements if there is an essential oil bottle in the appliance. If the appliance is moved quickly or tilted, the liquid may leak and damage not only the appliance but also your furniture! This will damage the appliance and will void any claim to the warranty.
-
Put the spray head (2) back on the lower part (5). Make sure that the two lines of the positioning aid (17) on the back of the appliance are aligned.
The upper part is then correctly inserted.
- Then switch Ella on by pressing the On/Off button (7) for 3 seconds.
- Press the button for selecting the intensity level (7) to change the interval mode. If you want to go to the next level, press the button (7) again. The selected level is shown by the number of illuminated LEDs (6). At level 1 (light), Ella now sprays the essential oil in the room for 5 seconds and then switches off for 5 minutes. At level 2 (medium), the device sprays the fragrance for 5 seconds and switches off for 3 minutes. At level 3 (intensive), the spray time is 10 seconds with a subsequent pause of 1 minute. The interval mode distributes the fragrances in the air in pleasantly small doses. Your benefit: You don't get used to the fragrances and can therefore smell them constantly.
- The light sensor (12) automatically switches Ella on when it is bright and off when it is dark. Press the button (8) to activate the light sensor and operate Ella either only during the day or in a windowless room when the light is switched on only (e.g. in the bathroom). The LED (9) below the button (8) for the light sensor lights up when the sensor is active.
- If you are disturbed by the brightness of the lamps (in a bedroom for example), you may deactivate (activate) the LEDs by pressing the button for the LED (13).
-
On the back of the bottom part next to the connection for the USB cable (10), you will find the status display for the battery (11):
-
Normal operation with fully charged battery: LED is not illuminated
- Battery level 10 % or lower: LED flashes
- Battery is charging: LED is illuminated constantly
When the device is fully charged, the LED will go out. You can now disconnect the USB cable and use the device in battery mode (for up to 10 days ^* ).
11. Switch off the appliance by pressing the On/Off button (7) for 3 seconds.
12. When the appliance is not in use, remove the essential oil bottle from the appliance and close it with the relevant lid.
Information on the release of fragrance
The intensity and dispersion of the fragrance is dependent on a range of different factors:
- Type of fragrance (synthetic, natural, ingredients etc.)
• Room temperature and relative humidity - Battery operation or operation with mains cable (operating with mains cable means increased output)
The length of time it takes to use up a fragrance is also dependent on these factors.
If you want to change the essential oil, first switch off the appliance (7), lift off the spray head (2) and remove the essential oil bottle by turning it anti-clockwise. Fill an empty essential oil bottle with a bit of water and screw it into the thread (4) at the bottom of the spray head. Press the On/Off button (7) and activate intensity level 3. Leave the appliance in operation for approx. 5 minutes. You can then insert a new essential oil bottle.
Cleaning
Prior to any maintenance and after each use, switch off the appliance (7) and disconnect the USB cable (1) from it (10).
Careful: Never immerse the device in water (danger of short circuit).
- Regularly as required: To clean the outside, rub with a damp cloth and the dry thoroughly.
- No water may enter the mist outlet (3). This will damage the appliance a will void any claim to the warranty.
- To remove essential oil residues from the spray head and the essential oil bottle, you can fill the empty essential oil bottle with a bit of pure alcohol (available in pharmacies and drugstores). Press the On/Off button and activate intensity level 3. Leave the appliance in operation for approx. 2-minutes. After this process, rinse the bottle with water before filling it with a new essential oil.
Note on the devices battery when not in use
The correct handling of a rechargeable battery is crucial for a long service life. This applies during use of the device but also for storage. Batteries discharge even when not in use. If you do not use your device for a longer period time, we recommend charging the battery to approx. 50–70 % capacity and repeating this every few weeks to reduce the risk of deep discharge. A deep discharge means that the battery is completely discharged until its capacity is exhausted. This causes the voltage to drop below the final discharge voltage, which massively shortens the lifespan of the battery or means that the battery can no longer be recharged.
Repairs
- Repairs to electrical appliances must only be carried out by a qualified electrical technician. If improper repairs are carried out, the warranty lapses and all liability is refused.
- Never operate the appliance if the adaptor or plug is damaged, after it has malfunctioned, if it has been dropped or has been damaged in any other way (cracks/breaks in the casing).

- Battery disposal method: This appliance contains batteries that are non-replaceable. When the battery is at end of life, the appliance shall be properly disposed of. Do not throw into the trash can, the electrode is wrapped in insulating paper, it can be recycled and reused.
