Frequently Asked Questions - RCIC-50SF Royal Catering

How to install the RCIC-50SF ice machine?
Place it on a flat, stable surface away from heat. Connect the water supply (pressure 1.5-3 bar) and the drain hose. Plug into a 230 V outlet. Wait 12 hours before first use to stabilize the refrigerant.
Why is the machine not producing ice?
First check the water supply: the WATER LOW indicator should be off. Make sure the ambient temperature is between 5 and 38°C. If the compressor does not start, wait 5 minutes before restarting. In case of refrigerant leak, contact a professional.
How to clean the ice machine?
Unplug it and let it cool down. Clean the exterior with a soft damp cloth (no abrasive products). For the interior, use a mixture of warm water and white vinegar, then rinse thoroughly. Never immerse the appliance.
What does the ICE FULL indicator mean?
It indicates that the ice bin is full. The machine automatically stops production. Empty the ice and the indicator will turn off. If the problem persists, the level sensor may be faulty.
Can tap water be used?
Yes, it is recommended to use potable running water. A pressure of 1.5 to 3 bar is required. If the water is very hard, a softener or filter can improve ice quality.
What is the noise level of the machine?
The noise level is below 56 dB, which is comparable to a standard refrigerator. It may vary slightly depending on operating conditions.
Does the machine use a dangerous refrigerant gas?
Yes, it uses R290 (propane), a natural but flammable refrigerant. Observe precautions: do not puncture the circuit, no heat source nearby, and do not use a water extinguisher in case of fire.
How long does it take to produce the first ice?
After startup, the first cycle may take 30 to 60 minutes depending on ambient and water temperature. Once the bin is full, production is continuous.
What to do if the FAULT indicator lights up?
This indicates a general error. Check possible causes: poorly formed flakes, blocked level sensor, too low temperature. Consult the troubleshooting section of the manual or contact customer service.
Can the machine be left on continuously?
Yes, it is designed for continuous operation. It stops automatically when the bin is full and restarts on its own after emptying. Make sure to leave sufficient ventilation space (15 cm).
