SOMMAIRE

Read these instructions thoroughly before using the appliance. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users. When using electrical appliances, basic precautions must always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury.

Make sure the voltage of your mains supply matches the voltage requirements specified in the rating label of the appliance (220 – 240 V).

We recommend that the room where you intend to use the appliance is equipped with a working extractor fan or it is well ventilated.

Use the device only for the purposes described in this instruction manual, any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer and could have a detrimental effect on the lifespan of the appliance and/or the safety of the user.

This appliance is not intended to be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision and/or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

The appliance is not intended to be used by children under the age of 8. It can be used by children aged 8 or over, as long as they are constantly supervised.

Keep this product out of the reach of children under 8 years old. The cleaning and maintenance of the appliance should not be carried out by children without supervision.

Supervise young children to make sure that they do not play with the appliance.

Unplug the appliance from the mains supply before moving it, carrying out any cleaning or maintenance task, or when not in use.

Do not use outdoors.

Do not twist, bend, strain, or damage the power cord in any way. Protect it from sharp edges and heat sources. Do not let it touch hot surfaces. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of table or countertop.

Do not use extension cords, unless advised by a qualified electrician; using the wrong type could cause damages or injuries to the user.

Do not use the appliance if its cord, plug, or housing is damaged, nor after it malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any way.

The appliance must not be used in potentially dangerous locations, such as flammable, explosive, chemical-laden, or wet atmospheres, nor near flammable materials.

Place the fryer on an even, heat-resistant surface. Do not place the fryer near heat sources, places with high humidity levels, or combustible materials.

There are no internal serviceable parts, do not attempt to disassemble the appliance.

The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

Do not insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust openings, as it could cause an electrical shock or fire.

Do not turn the fryer on if there is no oil in the tank.

Do not fill the container with oil as this may cause a fire hazard.

Do not touch the inside of the appliance while it is operating.

The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating. Be careful not to get burned.

Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any non-removable part of the device in water or any other liquid. Do not expose the electrical connections to water.

Always put the ingredients to be fried inside the basket, to prevent them from coming into contact with the heating elements.

Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.

Unplug from the electrical outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool down completely before attaching or removing parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

Do not leave the device unattended while connected to the mains supply.

Do not lean over the device while in use.

Be careful not to touch the surfaces of the fryer as they will become hot when in use.

Cleaning and maintenance must be carried out

according to this instruction manual to make sure the appliance functions properly. Turn off and unplug the appliance before moving and cleaning it. Allow it to cool down completely before cleaning and storing it.

Make sure the device is correctly plugged into a socket.

Do not place the appliance against a wall or against any other appliance. Leave at least 10 cm of free space on the back and sides and 10cm of free space above the appliance. Do not place anything on top of the appliance.

During operation, hot-steam is released through the air outlet openings. Keep your hands and face at a safety distance from the steam and from the air-outlet openings. Hot-air may also come out when removing the basket from inside the device.

Unplug the device immediately if you see black smoke coming out the device. Wait until the smoke disappears to remove the basket from the device.

We recommend the use of gloves when touching the basket and grill.

Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.

Place the device on a stable, horizontal and level surface. This device is intended for household use only. Do not attempt to repair the device by yourself. Always unplug the device after using it.

2. BEFORE USE

Take the product out of the box.

Check for any visible damage, if any is observed, contact as soon as possible the Technical Support Service of Cecotec for advice or reparation.

Clean the basket and grill thoroughly with hot water, washing-up liquid and a non-abrasive sponge.

Clean the inside and the outside of the device with a damp cloth.

Do not wet the heating element.

Do not fill the device with oil or any other liquid.

Place the device on a stable, horizontal and level surface.

Do not place the device on any surface that it is not heat-resistant.

Place the grill in the basket properly.

3. OPERATION

  1. Plug the device in.
  2. Take the container, the basket and grill out from the device carefully. Use the handle.
  3. Put the ingredients in the basket.

Note: Do not fill the basket beyond the MAX indication mark or exceed the amount of foodstuff indicated in the chart below as this could affect the quality of the result. Make sure you check the preparation time and the temperature required for the different ingredients before you start preparing them simultaneously. Potato cubes and schnitzel, for example, can be prepared simultaneously because they require the same settings. In that case, please note

that the maximum amount for each of the ingredients is half the normal amount.

  1. Put the container back into the device.

Do not use the container without the basket in it.

Warning: Allow the container to cool down after being used. Only hold the container by the handle.

  1. Power button

Once the basket and the grill are properly placed in the main unit housing, the power button will be illuminated. Pressing the power button for 2 seconds will make the device's default temperature 180^ and the cooking time to 15 minutes. Pressing the power button again will start the frying process. Pressing the power button again for two seconds will turn the device off.

Note: While the device is operating, you can still touch the power button for pausing and resuming the frying process.

  1. Mode button

Press the Mode button to choose between the 8 most popular food choices. Once selected, the pre-set cooking time and temperature will begin.

  1. Temperature/Time button

Press this button to select the temperature and time of operation.

  1. “-” and "+" control buttons

Use these buttons to increase or decrease the time (from 0 to 60 minutes) and temperature (from 80 °C to 200 °C).

Sautéing the foodstuff

Some ingredients may require sautéing during the frying process. To sauté the ingredients, pull the container out the appliance by the handle and shake it. Then put it back to the device. Warning: Do not press the button on the handle while sautéing.

Tip: To reduce the weight, remove the basket from the container and sauté the foodstuff in the basket. To do so, pull the container out of the device, place it on a heat-resistant surface, press the button on the handle and lift the basket out of the container.

  1. When you hear an alarm, it means that the preparation time has come to an end. Pull the container out of the device.

  2. Check if the ingredients are ready. If not, put the container back inside the device and set

the timer to a few more minutes.

  1. To take the ingredients out of the container, place the device on a hot-resistant surface, press the button on the handle and lift the basket out of the container. Depending on the kind of ingredients, steam may come out.
  2. Do not turn the basket upside down if the container is still attached to it.
  3. Empty the basket into a bowl or plate. Use tongs to remove big or fragile ingredients. Be careful not to get burned.
  4. You can use the device again after having used it.

Note: Keep in mind that these are just indications. As ingredients differ in origin, size, shape and brand, we cannot guarantee the best setting for the ingredients that you are using.

Note: Add approximately 3 minutes to the preparation time indicated in the chart if you start frying while the device is still cold.

Tips:

Smaller ingredients require shorter preparation time than the larger ones.

A larger amount of ingredients only requires a slightly longer preparation time, and a smaller amount of ingredients only requires a slightly shorter preparation time.

Sautéing small ingredients during the frying process optimises the result and can help preventing unevenly fried ingredients.

Add some oil to the fresh potatoes for a crispier result.

Do not use the device to fry greasy food (such as sausages).

Food that can be cooked in an oven can also be cooked with the device.

The optimal amount for preparing crispy fries is 500 grams.

Pre-made dough requires a shorter preparation time than home-made dough.

You can also use the device to re-heat ingredients. To do so, set the temperature to 150 °C for 10 minutes.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning

Clean the device after every use.

Disconnect the appliance from the power supply and allow it to cool down before cleaning.

Do not use metallic tools or abrasive products to clean the basket and grill. Use a soft, damp

cloth to clean the product's surface.

Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquid.

Do not use abrasive scouring pads, powders or cleaners.

Note: Remove the basket to let the device to cool down more quickly.

Clean the device thoroughly with hot water, washing-up liquid and a non-abrasive sponge.

We recommend the use of a degreasing liquid to remove any remaining dirt.

If dirt is stuck inside the basket and grill, we recommend filling the basket with hot water mixed with washing-up liquid, and then letting the basket and grill dry for approximately 10 minutes.

Clean the inside of the device with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge.

Clean the heating element with a soft cleaning brush to remove any food residue. Be careful not to damage the heating element.

Storage

Unplug the device and let it cool down.

Make sure all its parts are clean and dry when you store it.

Place the cord into the cord-storaging compartment and fixing it inside the cord-fixing slot.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING

French fries are fried unevenly in the device.The right kind of potato is not being used.Use fresh potatoes and make sure they stay consistent while being fried.
You did not rinse the potato sticks properly before you fried them.Rinse the potato sticks properly to remove the starch.
French fries are not crispy when they come out the device.The fries' crispness depend on the amount of oil and water in the fries.Make sure you dry the potato sticks properly before adding the oil.
Cut the potato sticks on smaller pieces for crispier results.
Add a little bit more of oil for a crispier result.

7. DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

The European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), specifies that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of with the normal unsorted municipal waste. Old appliances must be collected separately, in order to optimise the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain and reduce the impact on human health and the environment.

The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation to dispose of the appliance correctly. If the product has a built-in battery or uses batteries, they should be removed from the appliance and disposed of appropriately.

Consumers must contact their local authorities or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of old appliances and/or their batteries.

8. TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICE AND WARRANTY

This product is under warranty for 2 years from the date of purchase, as long as the proof of purchase is submitted, the product is in perfect physical condition, and it has been given proper use, as explained in this instruction manual.

The warranty will not cover the following situations:

The product has been used for purposes other than those intended for it, misused, beaten, exposed to moisture, immersed in liquid or corrosive substances, as well as any other fault attributable to the customer.

The product has been disassembled, modified, or repaired by persons, not authorised by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec.

Faults deriving from the normal wear and tear of its parts, due to use.

The warranty service covers every manufacturing defects of your appliance for 2 years, based on current legislation, except consumable parts. In the event of misuse, the warranty will not apply.
