3. Initial use

Take the product out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Then plug the energy cost meter into a properly installed shockproof socket.

The device is now ready for use. Detailed information regarding the operation and settings is given in the following sections in this user manual.

Consumption display:

The display shows information on consumption, total costs since the start of measurement, mains voltage, power consumption of the load and CO2 values for the current day.

Cost display:

This display shows the approximate weekly, monthly or annual costs and CO2 values if they are configured.

Time display:

The display shows the current time.

4.2 Button functions

MODE button:

- You can switch between the different modes using this button.

"UP" button:

  • In normal operation, you can switch between the 12 and 24-hour display using this button.
  • The value can be increased using this button in the settings menu. Press and hold the button a little longer for faster scrolling.

TOTAL button:

  • Switch between weekly, monthly and yearly display of consumption costs.
  • The value can be decreased using this button in the settings menu. Press and hold the button a little longer for faster scrolling.

SET button:

  • Press briefly to access the date settings. Confirm the entry by briefly pressing the SET button.
  • Press longer to access the tariff and CO2 settings. Confirm the entry by briefly pressing the SET button.

RESET button:

Press and hold the RESET button using a sharp object to clear all settings and to restart the device.

5. Date / time settings

Note: We advise you to charge the internal battery for about 2-3 hours using a properly installed socket before using the device for the first time.

Press the "SET" button briefly to access the settings mode. The value to be set starts flashing. To adjust the respective value, press the "UP" (increase) or the "TOTAL" (decrease) button until the desired value is shown in the display. By briefly pressing the "SET" button, you can confirm the entry and go to the next point.

The setting sequence is as follows:

Year -> Date format (Month / Day or Day / Month) -> Month -> Day -> Hours -> Minutes

Note: If you do not press any button within 30 seconds, the device exits the setting mode automatically.

6. Cost settings

You have the option to set two different power cost tariffs for various time periods. If price 1 and price 2 are set to "0.00", the cost function is turned off.

Normally, it is sufficient to set only tariff 1 (price 1). Price 1 is the basic tariff. If this is not set, then price 2 cannot be entered.

  1. Press and hold the "SET" button for about 2 seconds to start the cost settings mode. The currency unit will start flashing in the display. Use the "UP" or "TOTAL" buttons to set the desired currency. Confirm your entry using the "SET" button.
  2. The "Price 1" display starts flashing. Press the "SET" button again. The weekdays start flashing. Set the desired time period using the "UP" and "TOTAL" buttons for which tariff 1 needs to be applied.
  3. After setting the weekdays, confirm the entry using the "SET" button. You can then configure the hour display for starting the billing period. Confirm the entry again using the "SET" button and repeat the process for the minutes display. Confirm again using "SET".
  4. You can then configure the cost. The first digit of the cost display starts flashing. Set this using the "UP" and "TOTAL" buttons and confirm with "SET". Then repeat this procedure for the second and third digit. Confirm each setting using the "SET" button.
  5. Then the decimal point starts flashing. If you want to shift the decimal point, press the "UP" or "TOTAL" button. If you do not want to shift the decimal, press the "SET" button to confirm the setting.
  6. To configure Price 2, you need to select "Price 2" instead of "Price 1" at the beginning and set it. Make sure that there is no time overlap in the two tariffs. The time settings should not be the same!

Example:

For a kWh price of 0.24 €/kwh, enter 0.24.

If you want to set only one tariff, set the time period for all 7 days of the week and the start time to 0.00 hrs.

6.1 CO2 settings

After configuring the prices and confirming them, you can access the CO2 settings (CO2 equivalent). You can find out this value from your energy supply company.

"SET CO2" is shown in the display. Use the "UP" and "TOTAL" buttons to set the unit of measurement (kg/kWh or lb/kWh). Then press the "SET" button to confirm the entry.

The first digit of CO2 setting starts flashing. Configure this using the "UP" and "TOTAL" buttons and repeat this procedure for the second and third digit. Confirm the setting respectively using the "SET" button.

Then press the "SET" button again to return to the normal display.

7. Display and modes

You can change between the following modes in the first line using the "MODE" button in normal display mode: Display of costs since the start of measurement; power display; voltage display, current consumption of the load and CO2 mode.

The second line shows the accumulated data for cost, consumption or CO2 emissions. This data can be displayed for weekly, monthly and annual accumulation by pressing the "TOTAL" button.

8. Resetting the device

Press the "RESET" button on the front side of the device using a pointed object to delete all settings and restart the device. Caution! Be careful not to injure yourself with the object!

To reset the accumulated data, press and hold the "TOTAL" and "UP" buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds. The accumulated data is reset to zero.
