The fan is designed exclusively for the ventilation of dry rooms.

It is intended for private use only and is not suitable for commercial use.

Only use the fan as described in these operating instructions.

1. Only use this appliance in accordance with the guidelines in the operating instructions. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer could result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.

2. Remove the packaging and make sure that the unit is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use the unit and contact the service centre or your dealer.

3. Keep children away from packaging materials. There is a danger of choking if swallowed!

4. If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre in order to avoid all possible risks.

5. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, check that the type of current and mains voltage correspond to the specifications on the appliance type plate.

6. The electrical socket in which you connect the unit must not be defective or loose and must be suitable for the required current load and, above all, reliably earthed.

7. Avoid using an extension cord as it could overheat and cause a fire.

8. It is forbidden to adapt or modify the characteristics of this appliance in any way and use only spare parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer (failure to do so will invalidate the guarantee and warranty).

1. If the unit has a defect, switch it off and contact your dealer or the customer hotline.

2. Always and only contact customer service centres authorised by the manufacturer for any repairs to the appliance, mains plug or cable. You can find the service centres online at www.becool.at.

3. Children under the age of 8 and persons with reduced physical, mental, sensory or intellectual capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge should not use this appliance unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

4. Do not operate the unit unattended. If you leave the room, always switch off the unit.

5. Children must not play with the appliance.

6. Do not twist or bend the mains cable.

7. Do not use the appliance with wet hands.

8. Do not use the unit outdoors.

9. Never operate the unit in rooms where gas, oil or sulphur are present.

10. Do not use the unit near water or high humidity, e.g. in damp basements, next to swimming pools, bathtubs or showers. Make sure that no water enters the unit.

11. Do not place any objects on the unit.

12. Place the unit on a stable and level surface.

13. Never cover the unit.

14. Never insert fingers, pens or other objects into the unit and make sure that the air inlet and outlet are never blocked.

1. Always switch off the appliance before unplugging it from the mains.
2. Do not pull on the mains cable to disconnect the appliance from the mains power. Always pull on the plug to unplug the mains cable.
3. Do not handle the plug with wet hands to avoid electric shock.
4. Unplug the appliance when you are not using it, before cleaning it, when it needs maintenance or when it is moved from one place to another.
5. Keep the unit in good condition by maintaining and cleaning the unit. If you have any questions about maintenance, you can contact the customer hotline/service centre authorised by the manufacturer.
6. Keep and store the appliance in a safe, dry place out of reach of children when not in use.

Technical information

If the fan has to be stored for a long time and is not used regularly, place the fan in its original packaging in a dry place. When using it for the first time after a long period of inactivity, make sure that the fan is clean and the motor blades are unrestricted (unit not powered).

INSTALLATION

Preparation

• Estimated assembly time: 30 minutes
- Required tools for assembly: Allen key (included in delivery).

Assembly

After unpacking, first check the condition of the fan body and whether there are any defects and make sure that the entire scope of delivery is included.

If anything is missing from the scope of delivery, please contact our service centre.

Assembling the fan

First place the main body on the foam as shown. Remove the plastic wrappings from the parts.

Step 1: Installing the air outlet ring

Install the air outlet ring on the main body of the fan.

Insert the fan air outlet ring screw into the hole at the bottom of the air outlet ring.

Use the spanner to tighten the air outlet ring screw clockwise.

Step 2: Installing the column

Insert the aluminium support of the fan into the bottom of the main body of the fan.

Turn the aluminium support clockwise until it is securely attached to the lower part of the main body.

Step 3: Installing the base

Install the aluminium support on the fan base as shown in the illustration. Make sure that the connecting part on the base is aligned with the groove inside the aluminium support.

Insert the fan base bolt into the hole at the bottom of the base.

Tighten the base bolt clockwise with the spanner.

Installing the air filter

Air filter Air filter cover

This product is equipped with a filter that can purify the air. The filter must be inserted into the main housing before use.

Installing the filter

• Turn the air filter cover anticlockwise to remove it.
• Place the air filter in the main housing as shown in the illustration.
• Replace the cover and turn it clockwise to secure it.

Filter cleaning reminder

This product is equipped with an air purification filter that should be inserted into the motor filter to purify the air before use. This product has a reminder function. After 720 hours of operation, the filter replacement indicator is turned on. After replacing the air filter, you can press and hold the On/Standby button on the remote control for 5 seconds to turn off the reminder and the operating time will accumulate again.

Please observe the following instructions for the safe operation of the fan:

• Make sure that the fan is placed on a flat and stable surface. Placing it on an inclined surface may cause damage.
• Never block the air inlet or outlet of the fan as this may affect performance.
• Make sure that there are no obstacles within a distance of 30 cm in front of the air outlet so as not to obstruct the air circulation.

You can adjust the direction of the airflow to your liking by gently pushing the upper part of the fan's air outlet ring forwards or backwards. This allows the air to be directed either upwards or downwards.

Plug the fan into a power outlet and check that the voltage on the rating plate matches the voltage in your home. When the fan is properly connected, a single beep will sound and it will be in standby mode.

1. Switch on / off

When the fan is in standby mode, press the on / off button to switch the fan on in normal mode at the preset fan speed. When the fan is in operation, press the On / Off button again to switch it off.

1. Air mode

Press the air mode button to switch between four airflow modes. The indicator for the current mode lights up.

(A) Automatic mode: The fan automatically adjusts the airflow speed according to the PM2.5 level detected in real time.

Strong mode: The airflow speed is set to the highest level.

Sleep mode: The airflow speed and noise level are reduced to the lowest level.

Nature mode: The airflow speed alternates between 3, 4 and 5 in accession.

If the fan is in "Nature" mode, pressing it again will cancel any mode setting. You can also press the air speed button to exit the current mode.

3. Timer

A timer can be set to switch the fan OFF automatically. The timer can be set in 1-hour intervals up to 8 hours: 0→1→2...→8. You can adjust the timer setting by pressing the timer button repeatedly. The current timer setting is displayed. Each press increases the timer by 1 hour; if the timer setting is 8 hours, pressing once resets the setting to 0.

When the fan is OFF, the timer setting is cancelled.

4. Swivel function

Press this button to set the horizontal swing angle. There are four angle options that are changed with each press: 30^ , 60^ , 90^ , 120^ . The current swivel angle is displayed. A fifth press stops the swivel movement.

5. Air speed

Press this button to switch between 9 air speed levels from 1 to 9.

Press and hold this button for 2 seconds to enter strong mode where the air speed remains set at the highest level.

Using the remote control

1. After taking the remote control out of the packaging, remove the battery cover and insert 2 AAA batteries to use it directly.
2. When using the remote control, the transmitter of the front part of the remote control must be aligned with the reception window of the product.

1. The remote control can normally be used at a distance of about 3-5 metres from the front of the product and within a range of 30 degrees.
2. Avoid direct sunlight on the reception window so as not to impair the reception effect.
3. Store the remote control safely to avoid shocks and falls.
4. When inserting the battery, pay attention to the correct polarity. Never insert the wrong way round. (Use 2 AAA batteries)
5. If the unit is not used for a long time, please remove the battery and store it in an airtight place to avoid damage to the remote control and reduce battery consumption.

1. Switch on / off

When the fan is in standby mode, press the on / off button to switch the fan on in normal mode at the preset fan speed. When the fan is in operation, press the On / Off button again to switch it off.

Press the air mode button to switch between four airflow modes:

"Automatic", "Strong", "Sleep", "Natural". Press again when the fan is in "Natural" mode to cancel any mode setting. The mode setting is also cancelled when the air speed is adjusted. For more details on the different modes, see the "Air mode" section under "Operation".

1. Tilt function ON/OFF

Press this button to switch the horizontal swivel movement of the fan ON/OFF.

1. Swivel angle

When the fan's swivel movement is switched on, press this key to switch between the four horizontal swivel angles 30^ , 60^ , 90^ and 120^ . The current swivel angle is displayed. Please note that there is no reaction when the fan's swivel movement is switched off.

1. Timer

A timer can be set to switch the fan OFF automatically. The timer can be set in 1-hour intervals up to 8 hours: 0→1→2...→8. You can adjust the timer setting by pressing the timer button repeatedly. The current timer setting is displayed. Each press increases the timer by 1 hour; if the timer setting is 8 hours, pressing once resets the setting to 0.

When the fan is OFF, the timer setting is cancelled.

Press the +/- button to increase/decrease the air speed. There are 9 speed levels.

Press this button to turn the beep on/off when pressing the buttons.

1. Display ON/OFF

BE COOL

Press this button to turn the display screen illumination on/off. When the backlight is off, only the PM2.5 value and the on/off button are displayed.

9. Child lock

Press this key to switch the child lock on/off. When the child lock is activated, all buttons except the on/off button and the child lock button are invalid.

10. Automatic mode

Press this button to switch the automatic mode on or off. In this mode, the airflow speed is automatically adjusted according to the PM2.5 value detected in real time. For more details on the mode, see the section "Air Mode - Automatic" under "Operation".

11. Nightlight

Press this button to switch the nightlight on or off.

CLEANING

NOTE:

Always disconnect the mains plug from the socket before cleaning the appliance.

1. DO NOT immerse the unit in water or spray it with other liquids.
2. DO NOT use solvents or other chemical products for cleaning. Store the fan in a dry place when not in use.
3. When you stop using the fan at the end of the season, wipe off the dust to keep it in good condition for the next season. If necessary, dismantle the grille and remove the fan; clean it with a soft, damp cloth.

Cleaning the air filter

To clean the filter, use a hoover with a soft brush attachment. The brush should be passed gently over the filter to loosen any deposits.

The air filter should not be washed with water or other liquids as this may damage it.

With this quality product from BE COOL, you have made a decision for innovation, durability and reliability.

For this BECOOL appliance we grant a guarantee period of 2 years from the date of purchase, valid in Austria!

If, contrary to expectations, service work should nevertheless be necessary on your appliance during this period, we hereby guarantee to repair it free of charge (spare parts and labour) or (at the discretion of Schuss) to exchange the product. Should neither repair nor exchange be possible for economic reasons, we reserve the right to issue a current value credit note.

In the case of air conditioners, please contact the customer hotline as a first step (see sticker on the unit or cover page of the operating instructions), in the case of fans, please contact your specialist dealer or us directly. We would like to point out that repair work that has not been carried out by the authorised contract workshop in Austria will immediately terminate the validity of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover:

• We do not accept any liability for consequential damage in the event of improper use.
• Repair or replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear
• Damage due to non-observance of the operating instructions
• Devices that are used - even only partially - for commercial purposes
• equipment mechanically damaged by external influence (fall, impact, breakage, improper use, etc.) as well as wear and tear of an aesthetic nature.
• Equipment that has been improperly handled
• Units that have not been opened by our authorised service workshop.
- Damage caused as a result of improperly closed condensation drain valves of air conditioners or improperly inserted water tank.
• Consumer expectations not met.
• Damage caused by force majeure, water, lightning, overvoltage.
• Units where the type designation and/or serial number on the unit has been changed, deleted, made illegible or removed.
• Services outside our authorised workshops, the transport costs to an authorised workshop or to us and back, and the associated risks.

We expressly point out that within the warranty period, a lump sum of € 60,- (indexed basis CPI 2010, June 2015) will be charged in case of operating errors or if no error was detected.

The provision of warranty service (repair or replacement of the appliance) does not extend the absolute warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase.

The 2-year warranty is only valid on presentation of the purchase receipt (must contain the name and address of the dealer as well as the complete designation of the unit) and the corresponding warranty certificate, on which the type of unit as well as the serial number (visible on the box and on the back or bottom of the unit) must be noted! Without the warranty certificate, only the legal warranty applies!

We expressly point out that the statutory warranty rights are not affected by this guarantee and continue undiminished.

Schuss Home Electronic GmbH and its vicarious agents shall only be liable for damages in the event of gross negligence or intent. Liability for loss of profit, expected but not realised savings, consequential damage and damage from third party claims is excluded in any case. Damages to or for recorded data are always excluded from the liability for damages.
