1.7 Wear suitable working clothes such as rubber gloves and non-slip shoes. Do not wear loose garments. Keep long hair in a hairnet.
1.8 Avoid abnormal postures and make sure of your footing, particularly when working on ladders and steps.
1.9 Be sure to hold the hedge trimmer well away

from your body when it is switched on.

1.10 Make sure there are no other persons or animals within your working area (radius of swing).
1.11 Carry the hedge trimmer only by its guide handle.
1.12 Keep cables clear of where you are cutting. 1.13 Examine the cutting system regularly for signs of damage and, if necessary, arrange for the hedge trimmer to be professionally repaired by the ISC Customer Service Center or a specialist workshop.
1.14 If the blades become jammed, e.g. due to thick branches or the like, switch off and remove the accu immediately. Only then are you to remove the cause of the obstruction.
1.15 Keep the hedge trimmer in a dry place out of children's reach.
1.16 During transportation and storage of the hedge trimmer, keep the blades covered at all times with the special guard.

Explanation of rating plate (see Figure 7)

  1. Warning
  2. Keep away from the rain and damp conditions.
  3. Read the operating instructions before you use the hedge trimmer.
  4. Wear goggles and ear-muffs or similar protection.

3. Charging the rechargeable battery

  1. To remove the rechargeable battery, press the two locking clips (A) firmly and at the same pull the battery backwards and out, as shown in Figs. 2 + 3.
  2. Check that the mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Connect the power supply unit to the rechargeable battery. Plug the power supply unit in the plug socket. The green and the red LEDs on the rechargeable battery will illuminate (Fig. 6).
  3. An empty battery requires approx. 7 hours to recharge. The recharging time is correspondingly shorter if the battery has any residual capacity. The temperature of the battery may rise slightly during the charging operation. This is normal.

If the battery pack fails to charge, please check

- whether there is voltage at the socket-outlet - whether there is good contact at the charging contacts

If the battery pack still fails to charge, we request that you send

●the battery charger

●and the rechargeable battery pack to our customer services department.

To ensure that the NC battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the power of the hammer screwdriver drops.

Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.

To install the rechargeable battery, insert it in the battery compartment on the trimmer as shown in Fig. 2. Make sure that the battery interlocks with the battery guide in the trimmer housing. Then slide the battery into the battery compartment as far as the stop. The two locking clips (Fig. 3/A)

will lock into the trimmer housing in the process.

As an alternative you can charge the rechargeable battery directly on the device.

Never switch on the device during recharging.

Caution! This hedge trimmer is designed to cut hedges, bushes and shrubs. Any other use which is not expressly permitted in these instructions may cause damage to the hedge trimmer and place the user at serious risk. Your hedge trimmer is equipped with a two-hand safety circuit. This means that it works only when the switch button on the guide handle (Figure 1 / Item 3) is pressed with the one hand while the switch on the handle (Figure 1 / Item 4) is being pressed with the other hand. If you let go of either switching element, the blades will stop moving.

The blades take time to slow down to a standstill. Please make allowance.

- Check that the blades are working properly. High cutting performance and smooth operation are guaranteed by the counter-rotating, dual-edge blades.

5. Practical tips (Fig. 4+5)

●The hedge trimmer can be used to cut shrubs and bushes as well as hedges.
- For the best performance, hold the hedge trimmer with its teeth at an angle of approx. 15^ to the hedge.
●Cutting in both directions is possible with the counter-rotating dual-edge blades.
●To trim your hedge to a uniform height, run a length of string along the hedge for guidance and cut off the projecting branches.
●Cut the sides of the hedge with sweeping movements from the bottom up.

Please use biologically degradable oil.

● The plastic body and components should be cleaned with a gentle household cleaner. Do not use caustic cleaning agents.
● Water must not enter the hedge trimmer!
- When not in use, protect the cutting blade with the storage sheath.

7. Troubleshooting

The machine does not work: Check whether the battery is charged and whether the battery charger is working. If the machine will not work in spite of the voltage supply being OK, please send it to the specified after-sales service address.

The hedge trimmer and its accessories are made of an assortment of materials, e.g. metal and plastics. Defective components must be disposed of as special waste. Do not throw in the household refuse bin! Ask your dealer or local authority.
