Why do the indicator lights of the master on the Vonyx STM-2300 not light up?
Frequently Asked Questions - 05/26/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The STM-2300 features a built-in VU Meter that graphically displays the master output levels (left and right channels). This VU Meter only lights up when an audio signal passes through the master. If its indicator lights do not turn on, please check the following points:

1. Check the DC 24V power supply
Ensure that the supplied power adapter (24V DC) is properly connected to a 220-240V mains socket and that the cable is firmly connected to the DC 24V input at the back of the unit. Press the power button located on the front panel: you should see the VU Meter respond as soon as a signal passes through the master.

2. Connect an audio source and check the signal
Plug an active audio source into one of the three available input channels: microphone (6.35 mm stereo jack), RCA line, or RCA phono. Then, gradually increase the volume fader of the corresponding channel by pushing it up. The VU Meter should respond by displaying levels. If nothing is displayed, test with another audio source to rule out a cable issue.

3. Increase the Master Volume
Make sure that the Master Volume fader (number 17 on the front panel) is not at minimum. Push it up: this potentiometer controls the overall level passing through the VU Meter and the master output. If the fader is too low, the signal does not pass through and the indicators remain off.

4. Check the input connections
If the VU Meter remains silent despite a present signal, test with another source (microphone, MP3 player, CD player) using RCA cables or the microphone jack. A faulty cable or poor connection may prevent the signal from reaching the master.

If after these checks the VU Meter still does not light up despite correct power (ON button pressed) and a present and amplified audio signal at the master, this indicates an internal electronic fault requiring repair by an authorized Vonyx technician.
