Frequently Asked Questions - PC-EK 1275 PROFICOOK

How many eggs can I cook at once?
You can cook up to 8 eggs hard-boiled, or up to 3 poached eggs or 3 small omelettes.
How to use the graduated cup?
The graduated cup is used to measure water for different levels of doneness. Fill it according to the number of eggs and desired type of cooking (soft-boiled, medium-boiled, hard-boiled). The needle under the cup allows you to pierce the eggs before cooking.
Why do eggs burst during cooking?
Eggs burst if they have not been pierced using the needle of the graduated cup. Always prick the blunt end of the egg before placing it in the egg holder.
What to do if the appliance does not turn on?
Check that the plug is properly inserted and that the power outlet works. Also check the fuse of your installation. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
How to clean the egg cooker?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Wipe any residual water in the heating plate with a cloth. The accessories (lid, egg holder, insert) can be cleaned in warm soapy water. Never immerse the appliance in water.
When and how to descale the appliance?
Descale as soon as the appliance turns off before the water boils, or regularly depending on water hardness. Use a descaling agent based on citric acid (not vinegar) following the manufacturer's dosage.
Can I prepare omelettes in this appliance?
Yes, thanks to the provided omelette/poaching insert. Lightly grease the wells, fill each with beaten egg, place the insert on the egg holder and proceed as for hard-boiled eggs.
How to adjust the cooking time?
The cooking time is determined by the amount of water poured. Use the markings on the graduated cup: for soft-boiled, medium-boiled, or hard-boiled eggs, pour water up to the line corresponding to the number of eggs.
Does the appliance turn off automatically?
Yes, the appliance turns off automatically when all water has evaporated. An audible signal sounds and the indicator light goes out. Then unplug the appliance.
What to do if the eggs are not cooked to the desired consistency?
Adjust the amount of water: if the eggs are too hard, add a little less water than the indicated mark; if they are too soft, add a little more water. The size and temperature of the eggs also affect the result.
