7. SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS
UNDERSTAND YOUR LOG SPLITTER
Read and understand the operating instructions and the notices attached to the log splitter. Familiarize yourself with the use and limitations of the device as well as the specific hazards associated with the device.
Do not operate the log splitter if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication that may impair your ability to operate the log splitter properly.
AVOID DANGEROUS CONDITIONS
Place the log splitter on a stable, flat and level work table at least 85cm high, with enough space for the operator. This will help the operator to stay upright while working. Secure the log splitter to the work surface if it is prone to slipping, running or sliding.
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered areas invite injury.
Do not use the log splitter in wet or damp areas and do not expose it to rain.
Do not use in areas where fumes from paints, solvents or flammable liquids pose a potential hazard.
INSPECTION YOUR LOG SPLITTER
Inspect your log splitter before operating it. Make sure guards are in place and working. Make it a habit to check that keys and adjustment wrenches are removed from the tool area before turning on the power. Replace any damaged, missing or broken parts before using the log splitter.
APPROPRIATE CLOTHING
Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, ties or jewelry (rings, watches). They can get caught in moving parts.
When working, electrically non-conductive protective gloves and non-slip shoes are recommended. Wear a hair guard to control long hair and prevent it from getting caught in the machines.
PROTECT YOUR EYES AND FACE
Any log splitter can throw foreign objects into your eyes. This can cause permanent eye damage. Always wear safety glasses. Regular glasses only have impact-resistant lenses. They are not safety glasses.
Do not place the log splitter on the ground when operating it. This is an awkward working position that requires the operator to bring his face close to the machine and thus runs the risk of being hit by wood chips or debris.
EXTENSION CABLE
Improper use of extension cords can cause the log splitter to operate inefficiently, which may result in overheating. Make sure the extension cord is no longer than 10m and has a cross-section of no less than 2.5mm^2 to allow sufficient current to flow to the motor.
Avoid using exposed and inadequately insulated terminals. Terminals must be made of protected material suitable for outdoor use.
AVOIDING ELECTRIC SHOCK
Make sure that the circuit is adequately protected and that it matches the power, voltage and frequency of the motor. Check that there is an earth connection and an upstream differential switch.
Ground the log splitter. Avoid physical contact with grounded surfaces: pipes, radiators, stoves and refrigerator cabinets.
Never open the push button box on the motor. If this becomes necessary, contact a qualified electrician.
Be careful not to let your fingers touch the metal pins on the plug when plugging or unplugging the log splitter.
KEEP VISITORS AND CHILDREN AWAY
The log splitter must only be operated by one person at a time. Other people should keep a safe distance from the work area, especially when the log splitter is in operation. Never let other people help you to free jammed logs.
CHECK YOUR TRIBAL
Make sure there are no nails or foreign objects in the logs to be split. The ends of the logs must be cut at right angles. Branches must be cut flush with the log.
DON'T GO TOO FAR
The floor must not be slippery.
Always ensure you have a secure footing and balance.
Never stand on the log splitter. Tipping the unit over or accidental contact with the cutting tools can cause serious injury. Do not store objects above or near the log splitter that someone could stand on to reach them.
AVOID INJURIES CAUSED BY UNEXPECTED ACCIDENTS
Always pay attention to the movement of the wood slider.
Do not attempt to load the wood until the log pusher has come to a stop.
Keep hands away from all moving parts.
PROTECT YOUR HANDS
Keep your hands away from cracks and fissures that open in the trunk; they can close suddenly and crush or amputate your hands.
Do not remove jammed logs with your hands.
DO NOT USE THE TOOL WITH FORCE
The machine works better and more safely when set to its rated power. Never try to split logs larger than those shown in the table. This could be dangerous and damage the machine.
Do not use the log splitter for any purpose for which it is not intended.
NEVER LEAVE THE APPLIANCE RUN UNATTENDED.
Do not leave the device until it has come to a complete stop.
DISCONNECT POWER
Unplug the appliance when not in use, before making adjustments, replacing parts, cleaning or working on the log splitter.
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT
Take used oil to an approved collection point or observe the regulations of the country in which the log splitter is used.
Do not discharge into drains, soil or water.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR LOG SPLITTER
Keep the log splitter clean for best and safest performance.
MAKE THE WORKSHOP CHILD-SAFE
Lock the workshop. Turn off the main switch. Keep the log splitter out of the reach of children and other people who are not qualified to use the log splitter.
CONDITIONS OF USE
This log splitter is a model for home use. It is designed to operate at ambient temperatures between +5^ and +40^ and for installation at altitudes not exceeding 1000m above mean sea level. The ambient humidity should be less than 50% at +40^ . The log splitter can be stored or transported at ambient temperatures between -25^ and +55^ .
| model number | FX-HS26 | |
| Motor | 230V~ / 50Hz / 2300W / IP54 | |
| Max. trunk size | Diameter: | 25cm |
| Length: | 52cm | |
| splitting force: | 7 tons | |
| Hydraulic pressure | 28MPa / 280bar | |
| hydraulic oil tank capacity | 4 liters | |

The diameter of the log is a guide - a small log may be difficult to split if it has burls or particularly tough fibers. On the other hand, logs with even fibers may not be difficult to split even if their diameter exceeds the maximum value given above.
8. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
Connect the mains leads to a standard 230V + 10% (50Hz+1Hz) power supply that has undercurrent, overcurrent and overcurrent protection devices and a residual current device (RCD) with a maximum residual current of 0.03A.

Before the log splitter is put into operation, the vent screw should be loosened by a few turns until the air can flow smoothly into and out of the oil tank.
The air flow should be noticeable through the vent screw hole while the log splitter is operating.
Before moving the log splitter, make sure the bleed screw is securely tightened to avoid oil leakage at this point.
If the bleed screw is not loosened, the sealed air in the hydraulic system will remain compressed even after bleeding. SUCH CONSTANT COMPRESSION AND DECOMPRESSION OF AIR WOULD PUT STRESS ON THE SEALS OF THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE LOG SPLITTER.

The maximum pressure has been adjusted before the log splitter is put into operation, and the maximum pressure limiting screw is sealed with glue to ensure that the log splitter works under a pressure of no more than 7 tons. The adjustment was made by a qualified mechanic using professional instruments.
Unauthorized adjustment may result in the hydraulic pump not delivering sufficient splitter pressure or may cause serious injury or damage to the machine.

- USE

This log splitter is equipped with a safety control system that must be operated by both hands of the user. The left hand operates the hydraulic control lever, while the right hand operates the push button switch. The log splitter stops if one of the two hands is absent. Only when both hands release the controls does the log pusher begin to return to the starting position.
Before work, the log splitter should be placed on the platform 850mm above the ground as shown in the figure below

To prevent accidental depressing of the hydraulic control lever, a trigger lock has been installed. To operate the hydraulic control lever, pull the trigger backwards with your index finger before pushing the hydraulic control lever forward.
Never apply pressure to the log splitter for more than 5 seconds to split wood that is too hard.
After this period, the pressurized oil will overheat and the machine could be damaged. Turn such an extremely hard log 90^ to see if it can be split in a different direction. If the log does not split, it means that the hardness of the wood exceeds the capacity of the machine and the log should be discarded to protect the log splitter.
Always place the logs firmly on the log holding plates and the work rail. Make sure that the logs do not twist, wobble or slip when splitting. Do not force the blade by splitting the wood at the top. This
will cause the blade to break or damage the machine.

Split the wood in the direction of the growing grain. Do not lay the wood across the log splitter for splitting. This can be dangerous and can seriously damage the machine. Do not try to split 2 logs at the same time. One of the pieces could fly up and hit you.
RELEASING A JAMMED TREE TRUNK
Release both controls.
After the wood pusher has moved back and stopped in its starting position, slide a wedge of wood under the jammed wood.
Start the log splitter and push the wedge completely under the jammed wood.
Repeat t

Do not attempt to knock the jammed log off. Knocking will damage the machine or the log may be thrown out and cause an accident.

REPLACEMENT OF HYDRAULIC OIL
Change the hydraulic oil in the log splitter every 150 hours of operation. Follow these steps to replace it.
Make sure that all moving parts are stopped and the log splitter is disconnected from the power supply.
To remove the oil drain plug, unscrew the dipstick.
Turn the log splitter on the support leg side over a 4-liter container to drain the hydraulic oil.
After completely emptying the log splitter, turn it over to the motor side.
Add fresh hydraulic oil to the amount specified in the technical data table for each model.
Clean the surface of the dipstick on the oil drain plug and reinsert it into the oil tank while holding the log splitter upright.
Make sure that the level of the added oil is exactly between the 2 grooves around the dipstick.
Clean the oil drain plug before screwing it back in. Make sure it is tightened properly to prevent leakage before placing the log splitter horizontally.
Check the oil level regularly to make sure it is between the 2 grooves on the dipstick. If the oil level is too low, oil must be added.
The following hydraulic oils or equivalent oils are recommended for the log splitter's hydraulic drive system:
