2. Proper use
This sports watch is an information technology device and can be used in many different ways:
• Distance tracking via GPS
• Heart rate monitor
- Step counter
• Calorie consumption calculation
- Multi-sport mode (e.g. for walking, running, cycling)
- Sleep monitoring*
- Alarm clock
- Notification when a message is received *
The device is only intended for private use and not for industrial/commercial use. Please note that we shall not be liable in cases of improper use:
Comply with all the information in this user manual, especially the safety information. Any other use is considered improper and can cause personal injury or property damage.
3. Safety information
3.1. Unauthorised persons
- Keep the device and its accessories out of the reach of children.
This device can be used by children aged 8 years and above, by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or people who lack experience and/or knowledge, if proper supervision is provided or if these people have been instructed in how to use the device safely and have fully understood the possible dangers.
■ Children must not be allowed to play with the device.
■ Do not allow children to clean the device or perform maintenance tasks on it unless they are aged 8 years or older and properly supervised.
- Keep the device out of reach of children under the age of 8.
3.2. General information
■ Do not modify the device without our prior consent.
■ Only use replacement parts or accessories that we have supplied or approved.
■ The device is designed to illustrate a range of physical data (e.g. heart rate, calorie consumption). It must not be used for medical diagnoses or the treatment or prevention of illness.
■ Do not expose the device to extreme conditions.
Avoid:
– extremely high or low temperatures
- direct sunlight
- open flames.
■ Do not use the device if there is visible damage to its housing or the display.
■ The device contains no user-maintainable parts. Never open the device housing.
■ The rechargeable battery is an integral component of the device and users must not replace it themselves.
■ Use only the supplied USB charging station to charge the battery.
■ Never use optical equipment to look at the LEDs on the underside of the device.
■ To prevent the device from being damaged by excessive heat during charging, do not cover it.
■ Never put anything on top of the device and never exert any pressure on the display, as it might break.
■ Avoid touching the display with sharp objects.
■ Do not take the device apart or deform it. You could injure your hands or fingers, or battery fluid could get into your eyes or onto your skin. If you do come into contact with the battery fluid, rinse the affected area with plenty of water and contact your doctor immediately.
■ When using the device, keep it at least 20 cm from implanted pacemakers or defibrillators, for safety reasons, to prevent them being affected by it.
■ Prolonged contact with the skin may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people.
■ Stop using the device if:

▶ Remove all packaging materials.
Remove the protective film from the device display.

6.1. Charging the sports watch

NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
There is a risk of damage to the device if the sports watch is handled incorrectly.
■ The rechargeable battery is an integral component of the device and users must not replace it themselves.
Connect the USB charging station to a free USB port on your PC or laptop.
Place the sports watch on the charging station as shown opposite. Ensure that the charging contacts on the underside of the device are correctly seated on the contacts on the charging station.
The sports watch vibrates and a dynamic battery charging icon is shown on the display.

The device needs approximately 120 minutes to charge.
▶ Press the On/Off button during the charging process to check the current charge level.

6.2. Putting on the sports watch
Place the sports watch around your wrist and fasten the strap.

The strap should not be too tight or too loose for your wrist. It is worn in the same way as a conventional wristwatch.
To obtain the most accurate heart rate measurement, the sports watch should be close to your wrist so that it cannot slip when you move.
6.3. Switching on the device
▶ Press and hold the On/Off button for about 3 seconds until the sports watch vibrates and the display lights up.
The sports watch is now switched on and the home screen is shown on the display (see Fig."7.4. Home screen" on page 51).
6.4. MEDION® Fitness app
Download the associated MEDION® Fitness app to your smartphone/tablet free of charge from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

A Bluetooth ^® connection is an unencrypted wireless data transfer system which is unprotected against unauthorised third parties.
Bluetooth pairing must be carried out when you first set up the device.
▶ Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone/tablet.
▶ Start the MEDION® Fitness app.
▶ Select the desired language in the app.
The sports watch menu language is adapted to your selection automatically.

You can now create a user account with MEDION® Fitness to take full advantage of all the app's functions and to save your activities and data in the history so that this information can be retrieved again at a later date.
To create a user account, tap REGISTER WITH MEDION FITNESS and then SIGN UP.
Then enter your personal information such as gender, age, weight, height etc. to enable the calculations (for calorie consumption etc.) to be made using your personal data.
Now log into your MEDION Fitness user account or continue without registering.
▶ Activate the sports watch by pressing the On/Off button so that the display lights up.
▶ Press CONNECT in the app to start searching for devices.
A shortlist of various device models is now shown on the display.
▶ Select the sports watch that you primarily use, in this case it is model S2400. The app then starts to search for devices within range and displays a list of the devices found.
▶ Select your sports watch S2400 from the list of devices.

At this point, a prompt appears on your smartphone/tablet to ask if you would like to pair the sports watch with the device.
Confirm the prompt to continue the pairing process in the app.
A connection prompt is now displayed on your sports watch for 10 seconds.
Tap OK within 10 seconds to establish a connection between the devices.

If you do not confirm the pairing on the sports watch within 10 seconds, you must repeat the pairing process using the app.
Once the connection is successful, the √ view will appear on your sports watch and the following text will be displayed in the app: THE DEVICE IS CONNECTED AND READY TO USE.
▶ Press FINISH to finish establishing the connection.

7. Operation
7.1. Button functions

7.2. Navigation using the touch display
When navigating using the touch display, four basic operating options are available to you (see Fig. A):
- Access/scroll through the menu using swipe gestures from right to left, left to right, upwards and downwards.
- Make a selection by tapping the desired menu item.
- Press and hold the touchscreen display on the home screen to select the home screen design (see "7.5. Selecting a home screen design" on page 52).

7.4. Home screen
Once switched on, the sports watch display starts on the home screen.
You can choose a different home screen design (see "7.5. Selecting a home screen design" on page 52).
The following descriptions refer to the use of the default design of the sports watch (Fig. B).
Various information is collated and displayed on the home screen:
1) Calorie consumption

3) Distance travelled
4) Battery charge level
5) Number of steps

7.5. Selecting a home screen design
Tap and hold the home screen display to open the selection of home screen designs.
▶ Use your finger to swipe from left to right or right to left on the display to switch between the design templates (see Fig. C).
Tap on the suitable design to select it.

Starting on the home screen, swipe downwards once on the display to access the following quick settings options:

9. Settings
In the main menu, tap 📋 to access the sports watch's settings menu.
The following settings can be configured in this menu:

10. Sport mode
10.1. Activity recording
In the menu, tap 📁 or press the sport mode shortcut button to select a sport type for your activity recording.

Use the MEDION® Fitness app to select an activity from an extended range of sport modes (e.g. badminton, dancing etc.). The range varies depending on the device model.
Tap on the desired type of sport to start recording the activity.

Depending on the sport type selected, a prompt appears at this point to confirm whether you would like to use the GPS function for your activity. An active GPS function increases the battery consumption.
Please be aware that it may take longer to establish the GPS connection in some cases when you first set up the device, as the sports watch must initially establish first contact with the satellites.
Activity recording starts once the three-second countdown has elapsed.
During the activity, swipe once from left to right on the display or press the On/Off button to pause the activity recording. To resume the activity recording, swipe from right to left on the display.
During the activity, swipe twice from left to right on the display or press the On/Off button twice to end the activity recording.
Tap the end button to store the recorded sports data during the process.

If insufficient sports data has been recorded to store this progress, a corresponding message is shown on the display.
10.2. Data view during the activity
Depending on the selected sport type, the sports data measured while recording the activity is shown on the display, for example:
- Activity duration
– Average step count per minute - Distance covered
– Calorie consumption - Speed
- Heart rate
During the activity, swipe from left to right on the display to pause the activity recording and view addition data, for example the route (only when using the GPS function).
In this view, swipe upwards once or several times on the display to view additional data, for example:
– Diagram of the average heart rate measurement
- Average speed
10.3. Activity progress
You can view your stored activity recordings on the sports watch. To do so, proceed as follows:
In the menu, tap or press the sports mode shortcut button.
Tap the submenu to open the route.
The overview first shows the total number of kilometres covered and the calories consumed as well as the total duration of all activities.
In the overview, swipe upwards on the display to show your stored activity recordings in chronological order.
Tap a recording to view the detailed values.
▶ Swipe upwards on the display to switch between the value views.
▶ Swipe to the bottom view and tap the delete button to delete the selected activity recording.
10.4. Sport settings
Under sports settings, you can set various reminders to appear during activity recording.
For example, you could set to receive a reminder after a particular activity duration to change the training intensity after this amount of time has elapsed.
In the menu, tap or press the sports mode shortcut button.
Tap the submenu to open the sports settings.
You can set a reminder per kilometre covered, a minimum speed, after a defined period of activity has elapsed, once a distance goal is reached or a daily sports reminder at a particular time.
Tap on the respective reminder option to define the desired value.
Tap next on the digital switch next to the respective reminder to switch the reminder on or off.
Reminders that are switched on are highlighted in orange.
11. Communications functions
If your sports watch is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth and you have installed the MEDION® Fitness app, you can handle incoming/outgoing calls and notifications about incoming messages, emails, SMS etc. on the sports watch.

In order to use the specified functions, you must first grant the app the required permissions for access to your smartphone data.

Please be aware that the use of mobile internet, outgoing calls and SMS may incur additional costs depending on your mobile contract. Check the terms and conditions with your mobile network provider beforehand to avoid unnecessary high mobile phone bills.
11.1. Notifications
Using the MEDION® Fitness app you can specify which applications should be permitted to send you notifications on the sports watch.
For example, you can specify that you would like to receive a notification for incoming calls, SMS, emails. Equally the opposite also applies, you can deselect unwanted notifications in the app settings.
New notifications are indicated on the home screen:
Tap the speech bubble symbol to open the notifications view. Alternatively, tap
in the menu or when on the home screen swipe from left to right on the display to access the notifications view.
Tap on the respective notification to open and to view the full notification.

Take care to ensure that "Do not disturb" mode is switched off in the MEDION® Fitness app to receive notifications on the sports watch.
11.2. Contacts list
Provided that you have granted the MEDION® Fitness app the required permissions, you can access your stored contacts list using the sports watch.
In the menu, tap 📁 to open the contacts list.
You contacts are displayed in alphabetical order.
Tap on the required contact and then the phone number shown to call the selected contact.
Tap the red telephone receiver symbol to end the call.
11.3. Making a call using the number pad
In the menu, tap to open the number pad.
▶ Enter the target phone number. Tap on the red X to delete incorrect entries step by step.
To enter a special character (^* / + / #) , press and hold the respective number button until the special character is shown in the input bar at the top edge of the display.
Tap the green telephone receiver symbol to start the call.
Tap the red telephone receiver symbol to end the call.
11.4. Incoming calls
If there is an existing Bluetooth connection, incoming calls are signalled on the sports watch.
Provided that the contacts have been synchronised with the smartphone, the caller's contact name is shown on the display.
When you receive a call from a number that is not stored in your contacts, the caller's phone number is shown on the display, if this has been transmitted.
To accept the call on the sports watch, tap the green telephone receiver symbol.
Tap the red telephone receiver symbol to reject the call.
Voice output takes place via the internal speaker and voice input via the internal microphone on the sports watch.
Tap on the numeric keypad symbol to enter numbers during a call.
Tap the red telephone receiver symbol to end the call.
12. Switching off the sports watch
▶ Press and hold the On/Off button on the sports watch for about 3 seconds until the device vibrates and the display goes blank.
The device is now switched off.
13. Additional functions with the MEDION® Fitness app
Additional functions are available for your sports watch with the MEDION® Fitness app, such as the option to add or edit daily goals.

For more information on using the MEDION® Fitness app, refer to the user manual within the app. If you have any questions, use the integrated feedback function.
14. Cleaning and care

NOTICE! Risk of damage!
■ Do not use any aggressive chemical agents, scouring agents or hard sponges for cleaning.
You must always keep the heart rate monitor sensor surfaces on the underside of the sports watch clean, as measurement values may be affected if you do not do so.
Clean the sports watch's external surfaces regularly with a damp cloth.
▶ After use in chlorinated or salty water, rinse the sports watch thoroughly under clean running water to prevent permanent damage.
15. Storing the device when not in use
▶ Switch off the sports watch when not in use and store it in a dry, dust-free environment.
Carry out a complete discharging and charging cycle each month. This prevents the battery from completely discharging and becoming permanently damaged making it unable to be charged again.

PACKAGING
Your device has been packaged to protect it from damage in transit. The packaging is made of materials that can be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.

DEVICE
Old devices that carry the symbol illustrated may not be disposed of in ordinary household waste.
In accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU, these devices must be disposed of correctly at the end of their service life.
This involves separating the materials in the devices for the purpose of recycling and minimising the environmental impact.
Take old devices to a collection point for electrical scrap or a recycling centre.

When switching to flight mode, the Bluetooth® connection on your smartphone/tablet must also be switched off manually, to disconnect all radio connections to the sports watch.
Fitness app access to your contacts and have an active Bluetooth connection.




Starting from the home screen, swipe upwards over the display five times to view the next pending alarm and switch it on/off using the digital switch. In the view, tap to open the submenu for managing alarms.
