USER MANUAL 00186425 HAMA
G Operating instruction
1. Controls and displays
1. Battery label: Battery charge level
2. TVOC: Total Volatile Organic Compounds in mg/m³.
Substances containing hydrocarbons that evaporate at low temperatures. Values above 10 mg/m
areconsidered unacceptable for hygiene. Noticeable effects arelack of concentration, exhaustion, dry skin through to eczema or headaches.
5. ANEW: Data cleansing and new measurement
6. RESET: Instrument calibration
7. HCHO: Formaldehyde concentration in mg/m³ (HCHO =
CH₂O) HCHO: Formaldehyde is an organic chemical compound with the molecular formula CH₂O. Under standardconditions formaldehyde is agas with apungent odour.According to the European Union, formaldehyde can increase the risk of cancer. The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) has set the tolerable concentration for CH₂Oat0.1 ppm, corresponding to 0.124 mg/m³.
8. CO2: Carbon dioxide concentration in ppm (parts per million
-corresponds to 0.001 ‰) The Federal Environment Agency recommends letting fresh air into the room from outside if avalue of 1,000 ppm CO₂ is exceeded.
9. CO: Carbon monoxide concentration in ppm. In unventilated
rooms with gas burners, replaces or cigarette smoke, higher values arequickly reached. If the CO concentration rises to values between 136 and 280 ppm, fatigue, dizziness and nausea occur after only two to three hours. Avalue of 368 ppm or moreisconsidered to be unhealthy exposure, higher values areconsidered to be directly life-threatening.
10. Vents: Ventilation opening
11. Charging Point: Charging socket

6. Air quality guidelines (AQI)
TVOC mg/m³ 0-0.5 0.5 -0.6 0.6 -1.5 1.5 -3.0 3.0 -6.0 6.0 -12.0 CO2 ppm 0-450 451 -1000 1001 -1500 1501 -2000 2001 -3000 3001 -5000 CO ppm 0-5051-100 101 -200 201 -400 401 -800 801 -2400 AQI 01 02 03 04 05 06 Good Moderate Unhealthy for sensitive people Unhealthy Very unhealthy Endangering health Specically by providing the value for the CO2 concentration in the air (8) ,conclusions can be drawn about aerosols with viruses (e.g. Covid 19) present in the air.Although these arenot directly detectable, increased CO2 pollution is at the same time ameasureofvirus- contaminated air. This can be remedied by regular airing. Permanently inhaling bad and stale air can cause tiredness, headaches, eye irritation, etc. The ability to perform and concentrate decreases noticeably as aresult.4 The display of the concentrations of carbon monoxide (9), formaldehyde (7) and other volatile compounds (2) also helps to ensurethat remedial action can be taken in good time by means of ventilation. Furthermore, the different displays can help to identify the corresponding sources: e.g. formaldehyde emissions from furniture, wood panelling, etc. Respiratory diseases can thus be prevented and ahealthy indoor climate created.
7. Reset to factory settings (e.g. after relocation)
- Press and hold ANEW (5) for around 3seconds to reset the product to the factory default settings.
- All previous measurements arepermanently deleted.
8. Recalibration of the product
- Press and hold Reset (6) for approximately 3seconds to recalibrate the product.
- Calibration should be carried out outdoors, as CO2 levels here areusually around 400-450ppm.
- Please ensurethat thereisnoCO2 source in the immediate vicinity.Avoid direct sunlight and rain.
