Frequently Asked Questions - Tapo RV30 TP-LINK

How to set up my Tapo RV30 for the first time?

Place the docking station on a flat surface against a wall, plug it in, and remove the protective strips. Toggle the power switch on the back of the robot to ON. Download the Tapo app, create an account, press '+' and follow the instructions to connect the robot to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

How to charge the robot vacuum?

Place the robot on the docking station or press the return to base button () on the robot or in the app. The station LED blinks 3 times then turns off to indicate charging start. A full charge takes about 4 hours.

What to do if the robot does not return to the docking station?

Check that the station is plugged in and the area around is clear (no obstacles within 1.5 m in front and 0.5 m on sides). Ensure the robot is on and the battery is not completely drained. If the problem persists, restart the robot and reset the station.

How to activate parental lock?

Press and hold the spot cleaning button (spot icon) for 5 seconds. Child safety is activated. Repeat to deactivate.

The robot shows a red LED, what does it mean?

A blinking or solid red LED indicates low battery (<20%) or an error. Check obstacles, sensors, and if the robot is stuck. See the app for error details.

Can I use voice commands with this robot?

Yes, the Tapo RV30 is compatible with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. To set up, open the Tapo app, go to Settings > Voice Integrations and follow the instructions.

How to clean the filter and brushes?

Open the top cover, remove the dustbin. Take out the filter and rinse it with warm water (let it dry completely before reinserting). Remove the main brush and side brush, remove hair or debris with the provided tool. Clean the sensors with a soft cloth.

What to do if the robot gets stuck under furniture?

The robot is designed to avoid obstacles, but it may get stuck. If this happens, the app sends a notification. Manually move the robot to a flat surface and restart cleaning. To avoid this, clear low-height areas.

Can the robot mop floors?

Yes, the Tapo RV30 is a robot vacuum mop. It comes with a water tank and mop cloth. Fill the tank with clean water, attach the mop cloth, and select mopping mode in the app.

How to reset the robot to factory settings?

Press and hold the 'Power' and 'Return to base' buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds until you hear a beep. The robot will restart and settings will be reset. You will need to reconfigure it in the app.

Overview

Power/Clean

- Press once: Start/pause cleaning.

- Press and hold for 5 seconds: Turn on/off the robot vacuum.

*For the first use, slide the power switch from OFF to ON to turn on.

Dock

- Return to the dock to charge.

Spot Cleaning/Child Lock

- Press once: Start spot cleaning.

- Press and hold for 5 seconds: Turn on/off the child lock.

Combination Button

- Press and hold simultaneously for 5 seconds: Enter setup mode to configure network.

- Press and hold simultaneously for 10 seconds: Restore to factory default settings.

LED

• Red: Battery level < 20%; Error

• Orange: Battery level between 20% and 80%

• Green: Battery level > 80%

1 Postion the Dock

1. Remove the bottom cover of the dock, connect the power cord to the dock, and then replace the cover.

1. Place the dock on a level surface, flat against a wall, without obstacles within 1.5m (4.9ft) in front and 0.5m (1.6ft) on left and right.

Notes

• To ensure a better user experience, make sure the area is with good Wi-Fi signal.
- Do not place it in direct sunlight. Ensure the area around the dock is free of clutter to improve docking performance.
• To prevent the risk of your robot vacuum falling downstairs, ensure that the dock is placed at least 1.2m (4 ft) away from stairs.
- Always keep the dock powered on, otherwise the robot vacuum will not automatically return. And do not move the dock frequently.

2 Remove Protective Strip

Remove the protective strips on both sides of the front bumper.

3 Remove Protective Film

Remove the protective film on the front bumper.

4 Power On and Charge

1. Slide the power switch from OFF to ON to turn on your robot vacuum.

OFF ON

1. Place the robot vacuum on the charging dock or tap to send it back to the dock to charge. It will return to the dock at the end of a cleaning job and whenever it needs to recharge.

Notes

- When the LED of the charging dock flashes 3 times and then goes out, the charging will begin.

• We recommend that you charge the robot vacuum fully for about 4 hours prior to starting the first cleaning job.

- If the robot vacuum is paused for 10 minutes, it will automatically enter sleep mode and the cleaning job will be canceled.

5 Download the Tapo App and Connect to Wi-Fi

1. Download the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play, then log in.
