How to prepare coffee for the first time?

Before first use, run the coffee maker once without coffee with a full carafe of water to rinse it. Use only cold water and a paper filter #2 or #4, or the permanent filter. Do not exceed the maximum water level indicated on the reservoir.

Can I use ground coffee or pods?

This coffee maker is designed for ground coffee only. Use a level scoop of ground coffee per large cup. Pods are not compatible.

What does the aroma selector mean?

The aroma selector (illustration #7) adjusts the coffee strength. Turn it toward the black cup for a stronger coffee.

How does the drip-stop work?

The drip-stop system allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the cycle ends. Once you've poured your coffee, always replace the carafe or thermal pot to avoid overflow.

How often should I descale the coffee maker?

Descale every 40 cycles approximately. Use a descaler sachet diluted in 2 large cups of water or 2 large cups of white vinegar. Pour into the reservoir, start a cycle, stop after one cup, let sit for one hour, then finish the cycle and rinse 2 to 3 times with fresh water.

Can I put the carafe in the dishwasher?

Yes, the glass carafe without metal parts is dishwasher safe (without its lid). The thermal pot, however, should not be placed in the dishwasher or microwave. The removable filter holder is also dishwasher safe.

How to clean the thermal pot?

Do not clean the thermal pot with abrasive cleaners. To clean it, fill with water and a little dish soap, then rinse thoroughly. For coffee stains, soak with a dishwasher tablet in warm water.

What to do if the coffee maker does not work?

First check that the power supply voltage matches that of the appliance and that the plug is correct. Make sure the appliance is not overheating and has been descaled regularly. If the problem persists, contact an approved service center.

Can children use this coffee maker?

Children at least 8 years old may use the appliance under adult supervision, after receiving instructions on the risks. Cleaning and maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.

Can I add water to the coffee maker if it is still hot?

No, never add water to the appliance while it is still hot. Wait for it to cool down completely to avoid risk of burns or malfunction.

• The glass jug without a metal part is microwave and dishwasher safe (ATTENTION: the thermal pot must not be placed in the microwave or dishwasher).
• The power cord must never be close to or in contact with hot parts of the appliance, close to a source of heat or resting on sharp edges.
• Never place the appliance close to a wall or below a wall cupboard. The steam could cause damage.
• Never place the appliance below or close to easily inflammable objects (e.g. curtains, etc.).
  After switching on your coffee maker, never put your hand on the warming plate when you are removing the jug from the coffee maker. While in operation, this plate has a very high temperature, which could cause burns.

Before using for the first time

• Use your filter coffee maker without coffee the first time using the equivalent of a jug of water to rinse your coffee maker.

Preparing the coffee

(Follow figures 1 to 9)

• Use only cold water and filter paper n^2 or 4 (fig.5) or the permanent filter* (fig.4).
• Do not exceed the maximum quantity of water indicated by the water level on the tank.
• This coffee maker has a drip stop so that you can serve coffee before the end of the cycle. Once your coffee is served, replace the jug or thermal pot* to prevent overflowing.

Ground Coffee: Use one measuring spoon of ground coffee per large cup.
- Wait a few minutes before making a second pot of coffee.
- Do not make another pot of coffee if the jug already contains coffee.

Thermal pot*

• Do not use the thermal pot without its lid.
• The thermal pot lid must be closed tightly all the way to the right to prepare the coffee and keep it warm.
  To serve the coffee, press the lever on the lid of the thermal pot downwards or unscrew the lid half a turn to the left*
• Do not put your thermal pot in the microwave or dishwasher.
• Rinse the thermal pot in hot water before using so that it retains heat better.
• The thermal pot keeps your coffee warm for four hours maximum.

Aroma selector* (see figure n7)

• The aroma selector (fig.7) allows you to adjust the intensity of the coffee.
• For a stronger coffee, turn the aroma selector to the black cup.

Reheating the coffee

• Do not put the glass jug into the microwave if it has a metallic part (e.g.: metal band).

Cleaning

• To dispose of the used coffee grounds, remove the filter paper (fig.5) or permanent filter (fig.4).
• Unplug and let the coffee maker cool down.
• Clean with a cloth or wet sponge.
• Do not clean the appliance when it is still hot.
• Never immerse the appliance, the power cord or plug in water or any other liquid.

Dishwasher:

• The removable filter holder is dishwasher safe.
• Only glass jugs without a metal band can be placed in the dishwasher (without lid).

Thermal jug*

• Do not clean with abrasive cleaning products.
• Do not put your hand inside to clean (risk of breaks).

• To clean your Thermal jug, fill it with soapy water and then rinse out thoroughly.

• In cases where the jug becomes very stained by the coffee, fill it with lukewarm water, add a dishwasher detergent tablet and let it soak. Afterwards, rinse out thoroughly.

Dscaling

• Descale your coffee maker every 40 uses.
  You can use:

• a sachet of descending agent diluted in two large cups of water;

• or two large cups of commercially available white vinegar.

• Pour into the tank (b) and turn on the coffeemaker (without coffee).

• Allow the equivalent of one cup flow into the jug or thermal pot (f) then stop.
• Allow to act for one hour.
• Restart the coffee maker to stop the flow.
• Run the coffee maker two or three times with the equivalent of one jug of water to rinse.

The guarantee excludes coffee makers that are not working or are not working properly due to lack of descending.
